it’s weird to me that this place keeps winning best BBQ in the press and sun even though i never see any other customers when i go and there’s barely any reviews of this place online. they do have the most authentic pit in town though, everyone else uses gas powered indoor smokers(well except california grill, but their bbq is always dry anyways). a couple updates from my last review, the meat isn’t pre-sauced afterall, you can get it without sauce or get it on the side. and again i wish they had sliced brisket instead of chopped. the chopped is ok but i just like sliced better. i’ve been here 2 or 3 times this season, the first time i went and got ribs they were a nice meaty half rack of full size spare ribs with good smoke flavor, but unfortunately they were pulled out of a fridge and tossed into a microwave to heat them up, which didn’t make for the best texture. i went again recently and got the ribs and they came right out of the smoker sliced up and ready to go. they were meaty and tender but the smoke flavor on them was awful, made them hard to eat. maybe it was a bad log or something but i’ve had better from these guys. cornbread is still dry, the other sides are still just ok, except for the salt potatoes which are pretty good. oh, i almost forgot, i did try a half chicken from them this year. it was a lot of meat but unfortunately the skin(which SHOULD be the best part!) was very tough and i couldn’t eat it, so i won’t be ordering that again.

The food is great. It all depends on what you like. Smoked bbq isnt for everyone, but for some it means the world. The location is good unfortunately the ice cream place isnt open to compliment the bbq. Mandy works hard to make this place what it is. Love how they have smoked chicken sandwiches. When I am in from California I go, all the time. She has people that come from florida also just for bbq. Keep up the great work.
