I worked with Sekas Law Firm over the past few months to have my name legally changed. I was able to meet with someone quickly, talk about my needs and receive a price. I moved forward with the firm and was kept in the loop as updates were available. I also always received quick responses to any questions I had emailed in throughout the duration. The lawyer representing me was easy to work with and of course arrived on time for court.
One tip I would have is that they need to work on their expectation management. I had explicitly asked a few questions regarding the timeline and final steps of this process, and from their «yes» and «correct» answers, I thought I would be set. During one of the last steps of the process, a bombshell was dropped on a required waiting period that I had clearly asked about at least twice prior.
I don’t believe they purposely tried to deceive me, but that they were not thinking from the standpoint of someone who doesn’t have a law degree. Not the end of the world — but did throw a wrench in my plans.
