The bandeja paisa(or smaller version paisita, which didn’t appear to be missing any bits unless the big plate has plantains) is truly the perfect post-workout meal. You get pillowy rice with well-fried eggs on top, crispy chicharron strip with some pork still attached, chorizo, steak, cheesy cornmeal bunlet(not an arepa), and a side of red beans. If you like plate lunch, arroz con frijoles, and melty, salty, unctuous, beautiful animal flesh, I wholeheartedly advocate for this option. They also have a decorative plaque that says ELSALVADOR but no pupusas, so I’m not sure what to make of it… Viva Martí!

Excellent Colombian food near the Bergen PAC. Small place, away from the more annoying crowds(that is, until they get a taste or this stuff… this place is too under the radar). Churasco, spicy shrimp, arepas with cheese, their oatmeal drink, sweet plantains… and the rice and beans are top notch. Prices are reasonable. The bathrooms need some work. But the staff is wicked nice. There are only four tables and a counter with stools. But it’s never crowded. At least not yet.
