if you could have zero stars that would be my score. I have spent countless hours on the phone with these people and still have no resolution to horrible service connection between 5-midnight. their own tech told me that their towers were overloaded and there was no way to improve their service… was getting .5−1.00 mbps during the evening hours… cancelled service and they want to charge 250 cancellation… threaten collection if I don’t pay… this is a sleazy company… awful… buyer beware…

This company is my only option, so I’m stuck, but I’m not very happy with them. I pay $ 120 a month for business service, but I don’t really get a business SLA or even qualified technical support. My radio has been replaced 3 times in the past year. The service is more stable now, but I’ve had plenty of other technical issues. At one point, the network admins reallocated my static IP address to another region of their network on a Friday evening. No one called me to tell me this was happening or what my new IP would be; I called customer service, but they didn’t know what my new IP address. I lost service for the weekend and I had to call back on Monday to find out. In another incident, their radio modem attached to my home started to flood ARP addresses and crashed the ISP network. They cut off my house from service, but didn’t tell until the next morning. When the customer service rep called me, he accused the switch inside my home of causing the issue and threatened to permanently suspend my service. I asked to speak with one of the engineers to figure out what was going on(I’m actually a field engineer for Brocade), but they refused to allow me to speak with them or even ask exchange emails with them over email. The field technicians Rise sends to your home run the range of very qualified to horrible; I’ve experienced both. I’ve had one leave half-way through fixing my issue without scheduling a followup appointment and I’ve had to call customer service to reschedule someone else to come out. There are times I get the impression that the technician is unhappy or annoyed to have to come out an fix my issue. Troubleshooting usually involves the existing wireless modem with another used wireless modem. Remember that I’m paying Rise $ 120 a month for service. I’ve had so many issues with service, I’m getting close to paying an additional $ 60 a month for 2Mb DSL as a backup. Rise Broadband is the Comcast of WISP service providers.

Awful customer service, on multiple occasions when reporting complete network outages that last for days at a time each time. There are no updates on the status, no credits offered for the service denied that you paid for, and abrupt dropped calls and chat sessions when you try to find out when service will be restored. This business changed names several times over the last year, from Texas Communications to Rhino Communications and now Rise… when the service actually works, it is great. When it goes down, however, forget getting anyone to restore it for several days and don’t expect them to treat their customers as valuable assets. I don’t call multiple times a day or get rise or hostile. I’m attaching pics of tonight’s chat.
