We ordered pizza, wings, and salad for pick up. The staff was very friendly when we went in to get our food and the place was packed! Looks like a good place to go for drinks and a bite, but it prob gets very crowded on weekends. The food: Pizza was good up until the crust… It was VERY burnt. completely black & very hard. I know coal-fired crusts can get a little charred but this one was beyond that. The pizza part was tasty though! Wings were good, I liked them a lot though my BF wasn’t a fan. They’re more like grilled chicken wings, whereas he likes the crusty fried type. They’re topped with yummy caramelized onions which I really enjoyed

Great find in Marlboro/Morganville, suprising quality for a pizza joint in a strip mall. Highly recommend the wings, grilled with lemon and basil. The wings and the house salad made for a great family meal. Bar seemed like a good spot, lots of tvs.

This is definitely the best tasting pizza in NJ, actually IMO it’s tied with Nunzio’s kitchen for first place; however, I would still choose this pizza over Nunzio’s. Everyone else that gave this place anything less than a 4 star review either has no idea what good pizza is, or is probably one of those idiots that pride themselves on «never leaving a 5 star review» regardless of how much they enjoyed their meal. Ignore them and trust me, this pizza is AMAZING! One thing I need to point out, it would be nice if they had more sides and/or appetizers, something as simple as fries would be great.

Not only Anthony’s is serving up «well done» pizza, it’s also a gastropub. There’s a bunch of flat screen tvs placed through out the restaurant. It’s spacious and because it recently opened, it’s pretty modern looking. There are pictures hanging up on the walls though out of classic celebrities like liz taylor, Marilyn Monroe, sinatra, former NY sports heroes, etc. What’s cool is my wife went to the bathroom and there are pictures of male celebrities like Brad Pitt staring at you while you go. The men’s bathroom is no different — Marilyn Monroe, bond girls, and other pretty vixens are hanging on the walls. The pizza? It’s made in a coal fired oven where it will come out streaming and slightly burnt at the edges or «well done,» which is their slogan. I’m just not a fan. My wife ordered the personal lunch size pizza with mushrooms, which isn’t cheap for its size. The pizza Itself is a little thin & crispy on the bottom which is great but to me as a whole it wasn’t something amazing. There isn’t much sauce on their pizza. See the pic. I’ve had better pizza. I ordered the chicken breast, broccoli rabe, mozzarella cheese sandwich, which wasn’t bad. The chicken was moist, and the broccoli rabe was good. The sandwich bread was the pizza dough but thicker and softer. It tasted good but was better with the chili pepper flakes provided at each table. I would come back to try their coal oven baked wings abs specialty pizza. Or, even sit at their bar and try their drinks. They have martini specials in Wednesday for $ 6 happy hour. The outside window wall panels slide open so the bar area adjacent can have an outdoor open air feel, which would be nice during warmer weather.

Great atmosphere. Love that the windows in front completely open to enjoy nice weather. The bar is a nice addition. Service was excellent. My low rating is for the pizza… terrible. Much better options in the area.

Absolutely the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. Burnt, soggy crust, and toppings had zero taste.

I’ve been here three times and have only compliments. Recently I went on a busy day but waiter was patient, knowledgable and had great advice when asked to recommend a plate. If you intend to go to this place I suggest you try the wings. Now that I’m writing this review I’ll probably go pick up a pie during halftime.

Really great find, in a section of monmouth county devoid of any good places to eat. Very cool vibe inside considering it’s in a strip mall. But now on to the important stuff, the food. Everything here is cooked in a coal oven, not just the pizza. And that gives all the food a ver unique taste. The rib appetizer is probably one of the best things I have ever eaten. They are super tender, and served in an oil sauce, with hot helpers. It’s very spicy, so if you can’t take the heat get out of the coal oven. All of there pizza comes very well done, which gives the crust a great grilled flavor. My favorite combo so far is the ricotta/sausage. The cauliflower pizza is pretty good too, but it is really salty. That pie is better split with several people, because you can only have one or two slices. When you visit, don’t skip out on the bar. They have a steady rotation of different craft beers to wash down all that dough. And a lot of tv screens to catch all the sport games. Seriously good place, with a nice atmosphere.

Originally from NY so not only accustom to good pizza also somewhat picky. Anthony’s has filled a void for good pizza in Marlboro. While there is good decent pizza in the area, Anthony’s is a step above. We’ve been here a few times so expect a wait during prime dinner hours especially on the weekends. Guess my family is not the only ones that like the place. Wings with grilled onions(outrageous although a few more pieces of bread for the onions would be appreciated), the ribs and the meatballs with ricotta are really good apps for a starter. Tried most of the pizzas and our faves are the meatball pizza, cheesesteak pizza and the cauliflower pizza. I know it may sound weird but definitely works well. Roasted cauliflower with heavy dose of garlic and salt over a crunchy pizza, it has become our favorite even with the kids. Nice size bar if you’re not with the kids. Plenty of TVs showing the games. Limited craft beer selection on tap. Changes regularly but never been difficult to something different or a good IPA. Open airy space, clean with an attentive staff. If you’re in the neighborhood or any of the areas that Anthony’s has set up shop, it’s worth a visit even if it’s a little on the pricey side for pizza. Surprising find in a strip mall. Agree with the comments on the noise level but you’re in a pizza place not fine dining, wasn’t overly impacting. Music playing with customers trying to speak over it is probably a contributing factor but I didn’t mind the music, good selection.

Disclaimer: I’m from NYC so I’m very picky. The ingredients were fresh but the crust was very chewy.

If this was in NY I would give it 2 stars but for Marlboro — pretty good. The salad was tasty, fresh and the house dressing good. We tried the cauliflower from the cauliflower pizza and it really grows on you. I don’t think I would want it as a whole pizza but would definitely get it as a side order for the wings next time. The wings were yummy not fried and gross! Ok the pizza was very good, fresh ingredients and thin crust. The place is definitely cute — nice big bar and nice design. It doesn’t look like it should be in a strip mall but it is. Sure beats a slice sitting around from noon in some pizza place!

Very disappointing. They squeezed our party of 5 people into a table for 4. We ordered chicken wings, a large pizza and a large order of meatballs. They couldn’t get our toppings on the pizza straight. Meatballs were good, but, unfortunately, everything else was not. Pizza was soggy, chicken wings plump, but, flavorless and no dipping/coating sauces available except tomato. Very pricey for type of food and quality. Won’t be going back.

Ordered a large regular and small white pies. First, the white pie. There was hardly any ricotta on thee pie and it was not seasoned with garlic as it should be. The mutz was horrible overly dry even though it was advertised as «fresh». The crust for both pies was tasteless and with odd texture. Second, traditional pie was just as bad. The sauce was tasteless no basil or garlic and the oil in the sauce was cheap. The cheese was far from fresh as I said and one thing I can say for sure these were not cooked in a coal oven. You want a coal fired pizza go to coal fired in Manalapan on RT9. It is so much better.

Stopped in last week to do take out for dinner last minute. I ordered a large pizza for my kids & a small cauliflower vegetarian pizza for myself. Neither pizza were impressive. The large regular pizza was flavorless & the cauliflower pizza was over salted without any flavor as well. They were both over done and ended up in the garbage. So much for a quick last minute solution for dinner. Hope they up their game or they’ll be gone quicker than they opened.

I don’t understand how they can charge the prices that they do. It is not NYC. Sunday lunch, $ 7.50 for a beer with huge head. $ 8.50 for a sandwich, not that bad. The food and service was good and polite, but it’s still a strip mall. Charging NYC prices will keep me away from returning. Sorry, but there are too many other places to try before returning. My star rating is purely price related. Its Marlboro, NJ and a strip mall.

Went there for lunch today & the sausage pizza was fabulous. It’s thin & charred perfectly. The sausage was delicious. Looking at the wings & meatballs at other tables, they looked delicious. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. The manager, Steve, took the time to introduce himself, which was a very nice touch considering it was quite busy. The restaurant is spotless. I didn’t have any drinks, so I can’t comment if they’re generous & reasonably priced or not. My friend had a Samuel Adams on tap & it looked great. I’m not a beer drinker, but was tempted to order one. The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because the tables are to close to each other, & there are no booths. I will definitely be going back to both eat & drink. I hope the drinks are reasonably priced & not short n’ light. If the drinks are decent I will change my rating to 5 stars. I heard through the grapevine that weekends are crazy & they don’t take reservations.

Tried Anthony’s Saturday night. Arrived 8PM and was told around 45 minute wait so the wife and I opted for a bar seat when we saw one open. Big bar with plenty of TV’s to watch all the games. Friendly service with a good choice of on tap beers. To be fair I am rating based on Pizza. The large pie is 15 inches. We added mushrooms. I believe the price was $ 19. The pizza is «well done». Well maybe a little too well done but tasty. A stout was $ 6.50 for a Pilsner glass. So, pizza and beer for two with tax and tip is over $ 40. Yes we had leftovers to take home. The negative, and I am not blaming(totally) the restaurant, was the noise level. A group of 6 families, with 15 young children running wild were making the experience one we wouldn’t want to revisit. The parents sitting at a separate table seemed unfazed by the way their children behaved. The children were finished eating before we even ordered, but you can’t blame the children for their behavior. The manager, apologized to us, but was afraid to offend the parents who were now taking up two very large tables for over two hours. Did he not realize he could have turned those tables three times? Maybe he kept them happy but lost us. Tough situation. Rant over.

Ordered the coal fire wings. They were awesome served with caramelized onions. Literally mouth watering. My daughter loved them too. Then onto a meatball pizza. Also delicious. Service excellent. Atmosphere good. Already looking forward to going back. Recommend highly. Thanks to the staff at Anthony’s!

Brand new restaurant in a great location. Had to try it out. Coal fired Pizza delish! Italian salad yummy. $ 5 Perseco on Sundays. Big open windows to the outside. Can’t wait to try Martinis and Meatballs on Wednesday. Watched the wings and meatballs pass us by to other tables. Looking forward to trying more dishes over the summer and looks like a great place to watch my beloved NY Giants games in the fall. Service was great. Will definitely come back. Only giving four stars for now… but will update after I taste more stuff… oh…music selection is awesome.
