Really, really, exceptionally small place with very menu choices. Four soups, two sandwiches(which are premade and sitting in a refrigerator like a gas station), and that’s about it. That being said the soups we had were good(bohemian potato and chili) on a really cold day.

The soup was very unique, though the chef used funky spices that made them taste a little odd. Sadly, the one sandwich on the menu was wrapped in plastic out of the fridge, so it wasn’t ideal. The environment was very pleasant. Though the soup wasn’t great, it looked like a they changed the menu frequently, so we would go back to try new soups.

We eat here on every trip to Door County. This is an awesome little spot well worth the stop in Ephraim. Soups are first rate and rotate daily. Paul has a great concept here!

Five of had lunch today while cycling Door County. All of our soups were quite tasty and very inexpensive. The accompanying buns were so-so. Would definitely return.

Hubby and I visited Door County for the first time, and we were looking for somewhere to have a simple, tasty lunch! Czarnuszka Soup Bar was a delight! The owner prepares a few homemade soups each day… I had a creamy Potato Soup, and hubby had a Kielbasa Soup, and both were heavenly… served with a nice fresh roll, and eaten out on the little deck in front… couldn’t have been any nicer. This is truly a hidden«gem»!!

Outstanding experience in a town with a population smaller than my extended family, so it was a very pleasant surprise. The chili is rich and meaty, the Irish Root soup sublime. The place itself is packed with Polish tchotchkes, with limited seating but terrific character. The proprietor is friendly and helpful.

Czarnuska Soup Bar is a really great stop for lunch. It’s a really small place cleverly hidden right off of Highway 42. Their menu rotates so you are able to try something new every time you stop in. The soup comes with a really good biscuit which is perfect for dipping. They also have sandwich choices(veggie or meat) that was really good as well. Afterwards be sure to get a cookie for dessert. The chocolate chip cookie I had there was probably the best cookie I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back and try their other selections.

Great place to grab a quick lunch in Door Co without spending a lot of time or money! You won’t find it without looking for it. PS Paul won’t mind if you bring your own drink to go along with his sandwiches.

Great little find if in the mood for something unpretentious. Had lunch there today, they had a choice of four soups and two sandwiches. All three of us had a different soup, they were all excellent. I gave four stars as the sandwiches were pre-made, so the bun was not as fresh as I would like.

You have to stop. Get a bowl of whatever they have. All of the soups we tried were awesome. This is what it’s supposed to be like when people say homemade.

The place to go for fresh, homemade soup. Finding independent places to eat that are actually good and affordable are rare. You’ve got many different places to choose from while you’re in Door County, but this is one place you won’t regret eating at. The last time we were here we ended up taking about 4 quarts of soup home(he sells them frozen, too). We’re headed back to visit and this place is at the top of our list. Oh, and the owner is friendly– much more so than any of the other places we were at. This place should get together with MacReady Artisan Bread Company in Egg Harbor, to carry those delicious, freshly-baked, crusty loaves of bread that I can dip in my soup– but if they were to do that I don’t think I’d eat anywhere else. :)

In Door County the other weekend, my wife wanted soup, and a quick Internet search brought up Czarnuszka Soup Bar, where I was surprised to learn that the owner was the former drummer of legendary Green Bay punk band Boris the Sprinkler, who my band used to play with. We didn’t have clear memories of each other, but I guess that was par for the course in those days. Anyway, super nice guy and great soup. Four different soups each day and two different sandwiches. My wife and I agreed that if we’d discovered it any day other than our last day there, we would have eaten lunch there every day. Which is what you should do.

Tasty soups. Good selection with six choices. Fair price. Cash or check only. Fast service. Not an overly friendly server, but not rude either.

I noticed the sign while driving past and decided to stop and see what it was and I’m glad I did. In the week we stayed in Ephraim, my daughter and I ate here 3 times. The soup selection changes daily, there are always 4 soups and 2 sandwiches to choose from. It was the perfect lunch and mid-afternoon snack. The building itself is very small with only a couple of tables inside but additional seating is available outside. In the times we ate there my favorite was the Mushroom Barley and my daughters was the Navy Bean(we also had the Bohemian Potato and Chicken Pomodora). Judging by the stream of locals coming in while we ate I’m not the only one who is a fan of the Mushroom Barley. The soups were hearty and fresh. The bowl size was great for lunch and the accompanying bread fantastic as well. This offers a great value in the land of overpriced vacationland food.

I am hoping I spelled this right, but there is a little unknown(open about 3 months according to the owner) SOUPBAR in Ephraim behind Leroy’s in a row of shops. The owner has been working in Door County for quite some time as a line cook and finally decided to start his own business. He bought the building and turned it into a great little soup bar. He makes 4 soups per day and it was amazing. I had a cup of all 4 and couldn’t decide which one was the best. Its a bit hidden, but well worth finding! Ate there on my last night and would have eaten there more if I knew it was there! Just a took a little time to discover it. Am hoping that he makes it so I can enjoy next season. He mentioned that most of his customers were local, which should help him through the winter months. Pay a visit as it was outstanding!!! After such an amazing soup adventure, I thought the only way to repay his hard work and great soups was through setting up his Unilocal page.
