Wong’s Chinese Deli

This place has the absolute worst food. Very bland and tasteless. Over priced and only takes cash it’s 2016 wake up.

Not a fan… food did not seem freshly made… I’ve had better at a deli in a super market… won’t go back…

Love wongs always have loved them, family has been ordering for years never have had a problem. The friend asparagus is a must try when in season and the foil chicken is pretty bomb too! Been an Escalon staple for as long as I remember.

Great food friendly staff always fresh good prices what more can you ask for this is our go to place here in town.

I have been a big fan of Wong’s for over 20 years. Last Friday night changed all that. Arrived at 7:15, was told it would take 15 minutes for garlic chicken, and have had such fast service in the past, declined that dish and ordered something else. We should have ordered that. Didn’t leave for over an hour. Our order didn’t have anything special: chow mein, asparagus chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and egg phở yung. There were several people before us, and at least ten people after we arrived. We waited over an hour for our food! All who arrived after us, got orders right away, and some had to be prepared. Finally got up to ask for money back and were told our food was ready. When we voiced our concern, we were told delaywas because we didn’t order from deli area. So, we were punished? We were never told, «a few more minutes «or «your order is take longer than expected «etc… not a word. We live out of town, and once home, found out one dish was not included.
Unfortunately, we will NOT be going back.

My favorite take out Chinese food in the area. Great food, great service, affordable & quick. Not open Sunday & Monday, take out only, and they don’t take debit/​credit. But they have been in business for 15+ years, same great owners, and food is made fresh.

This place is amazing! My family has been going there for years (decades I think). We’ve moved away to Manteca and Lathrop and will still take the trip over there just for Wong’s about once a month or so. Everything is yummy. The fried rice, the chow mein, the wonton soup, the almond chicken, the broccoli beef, the fried prawns, the sweet & sour pork are all very tasty. The ABSOLUTE BEST THING THERE: THE EGG ROLLS. If you go there, you must order those (at least 2 orders or you will regret not getting enough). The owner, Lee is a very sweet lady. And I don’t think they’ve ever gotten my order wrong. That’s some record because we’ve been there probably hundreds of times over the years. The only thing is I wish they were a sit down restaurant. Oh yes, they also do not take ATM or credit card, but they’ll take a check! Not open Sun or Mon and hours are 11:30 am to 8:30 pm (I think).

This is our family’s favorite Chinese take out spot — it is immaculate, and the food is delicious! It has been open for at least 15 years, and the food is always consistently tasty. The garlic chicken is the best, and they do not charge extra for ordering breast only. They have deep fried asparagus or deep fried green beans depending on the season, and I can usually polish most of those off before I get home 2 minutes away! You can order anything off the menu at anytime, and the rice lunch platters are good size. For 5 people, I usually order egg rolls, fried asparagus or green beens, house chow mein (although they will make it veggie style), lemon chicken (pretty much to die for), fried rice, sliced pork, and luncheon platter of Mongolian beef. We also often add the fried shrimp (10 in a box), pot stickers (seriously yum!), and sweet sour pork. This leaves leftovers for the day when the food tastes even better!

I used to live in Oakdale… and there isn’t a single restaurant in that town that I can even recommend as good.
Wong’s is about a 10 – 15 min drive from oakdale. its take out only. hole in the wall type restaurant. very very good! now… i am a vegetarian so i have only had a few of their dishes but the chow mein is out-​of-​this-​world. I live in the bay area now & still miss this place.
If you come across this review & are headed eastward on Hwy 120… towards oakdale & on your way to Yosemite… def stop in escalon for some chinese cookin’. map it on your phone.

Wong’s Chinese Deli is Take Out only. There are no tables to sit and eat.
The Char Siu {BBQ Pork} is the best in the Central Valley. It is better to order from their extensive menu and wait a few minutes rather than to get things other than their Garlic Chicken from the steam table. The steam table items are okay, but the freshly prepared items are much better.
