Best hot carrots I’ve ever had. Seriously when I was broke and my friends came here, I would just eat the free carrots.

Downside, have had a couple friends get food poisoning. Not always the safest, but we still come back.

The high school kids call it Jillies. It is a neighborhood hangout where the Escondido younguns go to on their way to and their way back from the party because the Mexican joint is open at all hours. The kiddies also come here if there is nothing to do in Escondido, so as you can imagine, the place always has a lot of costumers.
But if dining with a bunch of board teenagers looking for trouble doesn’t interest you, the food should. Jillies has great Mexican food. I love their veggie burrito because it comes with generous portions of fresh veggies, but it is hard to find a disappointing meal at Jillies. I know a lot people who are fans of the carne asada fries that come carne asada (that’s a given) cheese and guacamole, but I avoid them because I like having unclogged arteries.
Then again if you are in Escondido and you have nothing to do, Jillies is a spot you can go to meet people in the same situation and there will be plenty of them.
