We were so very disappointed a few weeks ago when(around 1÷15÷16) our family of 9 came to have a celebration At Marie calendars in Escondido! Our server was an ABSOLUTE ANGEL-she did everything to perfection-a true asset to your business! But the food… Very disappointing! 2 of our party ordered your signature dish… pot pie — OMG– Disguisting! The top crust looked perfect upon arrival at the table… As soon as the crust was opened YUK-a watery mess– we had to pour out the liquid to eat it., and no crust except the top layer— sure not what the pot pies on your commercials look like!!! Wow!!! Too bad!!! Seriously have to think Before coming and spending hundreds of dollars for a meal again!!! M. Sirota p. s.The ONLY reason you are getting 2 stars is our server-SHE ROCKED!

Where I’m from, Marie Callenders is just pies sold in grocery stores. I had no idea there were restaurants. So, naturally, I had to try it. I went around 2:30, but I wish I had made it in time for Sunday brunch, but that ended at 2. I’ll go back for that another time because it smelt amazing. My waitress was Micayla. She was wonderful! She kept up with water refils, check ups, and all that jazz. The food was excellent. I got the open faced turkey sandwich. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it was just what I wanted! I hope more people have pleasant experiences like I did!

This place is too old and feels grimy. Like every surface in the place needs a really good cleaning. I can’t eat when I feel like this. If the ambiance feels funky, I’m afraid the food might not be handled very well either and that scares me. I think they need to close for 24 hours and give the entire place a good cleaning. I bet that’s why the lights are kept so dim or else we would be in for a big surprise. The employees are nice enough but something about the place isn’t right and I can’t quite put my finger on it.

I used to come here as a child with my grandmother and thought it would be a wonderful Mother’s Day eve meal with my family… I couldn’t of been more wrong, this place blows!!! I ordered dinner to go; the two chicken pot pies looked like slop, the blueberry pie was over sugared and void of any blueberry flavor. Plus they forgot to put items in the bag; so I called restaurant, I was told that the manager was in the bathroom but would call me back… that was 3 hours ago!!!

Last night went with 9 family members to celebrate my mom’s 101 birthday. Service was terrible. It took 45 min. To get our dinner. Salad bar was basic and looked terrible. We had to get our own refill on drinks. We had to go find our waitress everytime we wanted something. Food was OK. Not spectacular. I complained to the manager about our service and he did not even acknowledge my complaint. He also said they do not celebrate any birthdays. What restaurant does not celebrate birthdays. It seems the last three times we have gone for dinner the service has just gotten worse.

I have been eating lunch here for years. The service is very good at lunch. I’m not sure how it is later. The food has always been very good. The only reason why I didn’t give it five stars is because, There is a big turn over in management. I think they train the managers there? I would recommend lunch to a friend there!

The only reason it gets 1 star is because the good was good. The service was awful. After our meals showed up the waitress disappeared, never to be heard from again. We finished our meal and sat for half an hour waiting for our check. Finally got up to ask for the manager and oh wait! Can’t talk to him as he speaks no English. I know I should brush up on my Spanish, living in Southern California and all, but no English? Seriously? Very weird. Finally got another waiter to bring our check and it was incorrect, so had to wait longer. Definitely worth the drive to hit the one in Temecula if you’re hungry for some chicken pot pie. Skip the wait here and save yourself the hassle of trying to track ppl down.
