Do you enjoy paying $ 11.79 for a bland, tasteless sandwich, accompanied by the smallest available bag of potato chips? If so, this is the restaurant for you! Other culinary delights include the $ 9 bowl of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup, the $ 11.75 two-meatball meatball sandwich, and the $ 12 beer. Combine this outstanding value with long lines and a lack of seating areas, and you have the gastronomical experience to top off what is sure to be a great day at the safari park

This place has a very limited food selection of mostly frozen ice cream and chips. We got a California Club wrap and a soup and cornbread wrap, which were fair. The best thing about this site is the location of overlooking the water area of the park.

Everything was expensive, as was expected from a captive market in a tourist trap, but the star-knock here is due to food quality. Among other things, we ordered a hot cocoa as it was a cold day, and the hot cocoa was well, not hot. It was slightly above room temperature at most, which defeated the whole point of having ordered here. There was also only one person helping the entire line of 15+ people, with someone else just sitting on register working for 5 seconds taking payments, then just watching the poor, overworked girl do all the work getting everything together. We also got some other hot food, which once again was cold. Short story, we waited a long time on a cold day for our food/drink, and it wasn’t even warm.

Very expensive for what you get. We paid $ 50+ for a kid’s hot dog and chicken tenders, a sundried tomato and chicken sandwich and a southwestern wrap. The food is mediocre at best. I don’t like it that they won’t heat the sandwich on a panini press. A cold chicken sandwich with hard Swiss cheese just doesn’t taste good. The wrap isn’t any better. The kids gobbled up their food but I suspect it’s because they were starving not because it was good. Our sandwiches came with a side salad and nothing more. They had the nerve to throw in the romaine lettuce stem as part if my salad. How do you eat that? They need someone to wipe down the tables because it was littered with crumbs. Chips for $ 7 amounts to highway robbery. This place has a captive audience because after you sit through the 30-minute tram ride, this is the first place you see for lunch.

Yuck and expensive. Chicken strip meal looks like Tyson Chicken reheated in microwave. Chicken Sundried tomato sandwich, look like bought at costco. Chicken bagged and flavorless as well as the flatbread. BBQ Beef sand, meh. Just like the rest of the food in the park. Overpriced and barely adequate. Plus? Yes, cool inside if you get a table with the uncomfortable chairs, but the AC works. $ 56 lunch worth barely $ 25.

There’s other selections around the park that have a better taste. Your best bet is to bring your own food. It’s a great spot to get out of the sun.

My meal was good, so I can’t complain. The place had the AC working(unlike the deli one), so I was a happy camper being shielded from the 90-degree heat. I ordered the bbq beef sandwich, which tasted like a sloppy joe. Even though my meat was half burnt looking, I just scraped that part out and it was fine. You get a side of pickle and a bag of chips with your order. My friend ordered the same and his looked fine. Everyone else in my group either ordered a salad or turkey sandwich. I think my choice of order looked and tasted best. The Sprite here tasted weird.

This is essentially a deli-style place with pre-boxed lunches to grab on the go.

Mediocre eatery at San Diego Safari Park. I had the Tuna Sandwich. It came with a side slice of cantaloupe and a handful of greens. Split a bag of Pirates Booty with my bestie. Pirates Booty was probably the tastiest item we ate. I was going to go for the Veggie Sandwich but it looked so lacking! I skipped it and went for the tuna instead. The plus to this little place inside the park is that it has AC, and the park with all it’s walking can get hot. There’s plenty of outdoor seating in shade as well.

Not really much to this place. It has a counter with pre-made sandwiches and salads. They have a sign that they now have a «full bar» but I think it’s just a tub of bottled beers. We ordered a southwest chicken wrap and a vegetarian sandwich on foccacia bread. Both were just OK. Prices were really high. We spent $ 30 for two sandwiches and two medium lemonades. Talk about mediocre food and high prices. We’ll bring a picnic next time.

I had the Chicken with Sundried Tomatoes on Focaccia bread sandwich. First problem was that the chicken was about ½ the size as the bread. That might have been acceptable if the bread was ok. The Focaccia bread was both dry and soggy at the same time(top was dry but the bottom was soggy). To make matters worse, the bread was cold(and there was no microwave around). I had to force myself to eat it since we were going to be walking around all afternoon. For $ 10 a sandwich, I don’t expect gourmet, but I shouldn’t have to force myself to eat it. Unfortunately my wife got the same thing and she only ate the small piece of chicken. My kid got the kid’s meal and that actually looked half decent(hot dog, pirate booty, raisins, animal crackers and a bags), but the adult meal was terrible.

Me: What kind of meat is on your bbq beef sandwich. Counter guy: BBQ beef Me: I understand that but do you know what cut it is? Counter guy: It is BBQ beef Me: No, what I mean is, is it brisket, or top round… Counter guy: It’s beef in a bbq sauce. Me: Ok I will have the Nachos thanks. Nachos were the equivalent of what you would get at a gas station for $ 1.29. The only good thing I can say about this place was it was air conditioned when it was blazing hot in the park.

For food options in an already pricey tourist park — and considering the other available options, it wasn’t too shabby. Everything was pre-made, though none of it looked like it was suffering from being out too long, and mostly everything was fairly healthy: salads, wraps, sandwiches and mostly lighter fare, with some chips, cookies, and sodas thrown in for good measure. Once we pushed through the hoards of school children, we opted for the California wrap(turkey, avocado, sprouts, tomatoes, mayo) and pasta salad(a little over-drenched in dressing). I think the price was around $ 12-$ 14. We grabbed some seats outside and watched as egrets and other wading birds fought over spots to perch in the trees around the small pond just below the patio. Good views and better than the usual fast food fare made Okavango tolerable.

One of the better food options at the Wild Animal Park. True to its name, it’s located in one of the more remote areas in the park. Luckily, it’s not far from the Tram area. The dining options are mostly pre-made, but they do have a BBQ Beef sandwich available. If you’ve ever had Lloyds«in a tub» BBQ beef at the grocery store that’s basically what you’re getting. Salads are okay too. The Kids meals with a hot dog was very good. It was a Hebrew National Frank plus they included vanilla animal cookies that completed the meal nicely.
