Wonderful service and food! We go to Ruth Chris for birthdays and special occasions. This location is great for that as in other cities. Well, we went for Happy Hour this time. I read the reviews and was hesitant about the crowds and someone perhaps standing over us for our table. Okay it is off season, but the food & service were excellent as expected in the main dining room. Our waitress Kat was attentive and so accommodating, bar menu is $ 9 and potions were generous. Steak sandwich, burgers, and steak skewer salad were really good. Drinks were great too. Manager Mike came by to check on us too. We’ll be back.

I have been to Ruth’s Chris many times and, honestly, based on some of the recent reviews I was somewhat apprehensive about our most recent visit as it seems the quality of the dining room service may have declined. I was pleasantly wrong. Our party of five was sat along the left hand side of the restaurant towards the middle at a table which, in my opinion, is one of the best places to sit. Our server, an Irishman whose name I sadly have forgotten, gave us the usual Ruth’s Chris spiel. I started with my usual sazarac which was it’s usually hedonistic awesome. Two of our party had a glass of Pinot Grigio which was not(just kidding; I have no idea what it tasted like, though they had no complaints). For starters, four of us had the Caesar(with anchovies) and one had a yellow pepper bisque which was decadent. My wife and I paired the Caesar with a glass of Michel Lynch sauvignon blanc. This wine is the antithesis of New Zealand sauvignon blanc, and was absolutely delicious. Prior to our order, I made the main wine selection: St. Supery Elu Red Blend 2012 which I have been dying to try. I asked for decanting, and was obliged. We all had steaks(three filet oscars and two ribeyes; all medium rare and all cooked to perfection. The wine simply took it to the next level… and was reasonably priced for a high end restaurant($ 50 cheaper than the same bottle at Angelina’s). Desert was the only let down. We ordered off the Ruth’s Classics menu so your rather limited. I received a hard piece of chocolate«cake»; no bueno. The others weren’t much better(to be fair, I knew this was the tradeoff you make ordering off the cheaper menu). However, the dessert was saved by a glass of Taylor 20 year tawny port which was divine. Overall, a great dinner, excellent wine, and great service = 5 stars.

Horrible service! I will never go back there! We were treated like second rate customers. We went for Happy Hour and they would not let us have a table in the bar, gave it to someone who came in after us. They put a reserved sign on the table after telling us they didn’t take reservations. There are too many good restaurants here that treat you fairly for me to ever go back there and I live here year round.

My friend took me here on my birthday. Service was adequate, though I felt the waitress was gone for long periods of time. I had the ribeye and creamed spinach. The first time the spinach arrived it was kind of cool, amazing considering they made such a fuss about the steak plates being«a million degrees» one would think they could keep the vege plates equally as warm(or at least the veges themselves). The steak was honestly to me rather bland and without any seasoning but my friend who had the same meat said he liked it and it was intended that way. Not my favorite. Anyone that knows me knows I have a thing about getting a drink with a straw already in it. I worry enough about my hygiene I don’t want to worry about the people touching my straws hygiene. This place is the same, had to ask for a wrapped straw. They accommodated me but it took 10 minutes and 2 requests to get one. Then for a refill they took my glass along with my coveted straw and we started all over again. The highlight of the evening was the dessert. Since it was my birthday I got the special plate personalized for me. That was a really nice touch.(See pic). I tried to go to 4 or 5 stars here but price service and food kept them at 3. Though 3, I would definitely«consider» returning.

Best happy hour for food not drinks. I noticed the happy hour online and decided to check it out. They have a 9 dollar happy hour daily that includes 9 dollar meals and 9 dollar drinks. The drinks arent a good deal but my husband and I ate like kings for 27 bucks!!! We ordered the spicy shrimp as an appetizer and he got the burger and I got the crab blt. Everything was delicious. The service was 5 stars and so was the food. Best deal in Estero. We will be back.

Simply put — you get what you pay for. Excellent experience all the way around. Made reservation online with request for a booth, showed up, seated immediately — in a booth. Amanda our server was very friendly, helpful advice, and very attentive to the table needs, often bringing refills on soft drinks perfectly timed before the last sip. Always like the touch of the GM stopping over at the tail end of the dinner making sure everything was a ok. I took my wife and two daughters here to experience a real«steak» and high end experience. It did not disappoint in the least. Steak was like butter. Both daughters understood what I meant immediately at first bite. They loved that the plate came out at 500 degrees so if a piece they wanted a little more done all you had to do was lay it on the plate and walla — more done. And for petite girls — finished their plates! Thumbs up — go with confidence.

Great food, service and ambience We had great food, service and conversations! The Everyday 4pm-6:30 Happy Hour is great. $ 9 food options with same service and setting Get there at 4 if you do not want to wait as it is very popular and people will hoover to make you hurry n leave Guy stood between me and chair his wife sat in after I received my appetizer He was literally between 2 chairs drinking his cocktail, tea and food Awkward I suggest Crab BLT with zucchini fries $ 9 Other $ 9 options: Ahi Tuna Steak Sandwich Steak Salad Spicy Shrimp Of course, most at Ruth’s Chris Steak House are very good and take pride in what they do to ensure that Guests enjoy their food and experience but it is VERY nice to have in this area

Took my parents here for their first time at ruth chris and they loved it. They each got a cowboy ribeye it was perfectly cooked and service was great. I was able to sit outside with my little pup which was great since I take her everywhere we go. They had a frank sinatra impersonator which is only on Thursday evenings! Great night out

The negative reviews on this restaurant are ridiculous. They must not know a good classy restaurant. My husband and I went there for dinner last night for our anniversary. We had a 6:30 reservation and showed up 15 minutes early. We were sat right away. Our table was beautifully decorated with rose petals. Our server was friendly and helpful. She was very attentive and always kept our drinks full. We ordered the mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat for an appetizer. The mushrooms were big. Not like most places where you get a quarter sized mushroom. They were garlic buttery and delicious. Cooked perfectly. We then ordered our dinner. My husband ordered the filets with jumbo shrimp. The steak was beautifully cooked. No knife needed and melted like butter in your mouth. I ordered the garlic herb chicken stuffed with cheese. It was the best chicken I have ever eaten in my life! Skin still on, nice and flavorful in crispy. For our sides we got the asparagus with hollandaise sauce, broccoli au gratin and their sweet potato casserole. Everything was delish but the sweet potato casserole was amazing! My husband hates sweet potatoes and walnuts and we were fighting over it. It was so perfectly done and it taste like candy. It’s a must try! After our meal was finished we got a free dessert for our anniversary. We expected it to be a little piece of cake with some drawings on it and we got far more. It was 2 bowls of ice cream with a raspberry drizzle, 2 pieces of turtle cheesecake, and their cranberry — nut bark. The plate was beautifully decorated with«happy 1st anniversary«written on it. We were very happy with our visit and we will be returning soon.

We decided to visit Ruth Chris for their very popular Happy Hour. We knew the restaurant opened at 4:00 so four of us planned on being there right at 4:00. That was a mistake. We should have been there at least 15 minutes early as there was a line at the door. The Happy Hour is only in the bar area and there are only so many tables there. We weren’t lucky enough to get a table but we were lucky enough to at least have seats at the bar. We had no idea it was really this popular. What a great place to be for Happy Hour. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu and everything on that menu was $ 8. That’s quite a special deal for Ruth’s Chris Steak House. There were also special drinks on the menu. I ordered the Crab BLT with zucchini fries and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. It was delicious. My husband ordered the steak sandwich with fries. Again, it was cooked perfect and very good. Service was timed just right. Bartenders were excellent, friendly and proficient. The only negative was our fault. We should have arrived earlier.

Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat. Should be 4.5 stars… AHH a steak house. anything with steak in the name has to be good. In this case yes. I had a Appleton rum and coke, fresh bread, creamed spinach and the Cowboy Ribeye. Rum and coke refreshing. The bread hot and tasty. Creamed spinach as good as I make it at home. Ribeye, served on a sizzle to your touch hot plate. The steak was cooked to perfection(medium rare of course) sizzling on the plate as it was presented to me. I had to wait before cutting and tasting. But the minutes to biting into a carnivore dream, was worth the time. This has to be one of the best steak ever. As it is a prime steak it should be. No added salt or pepper was needed. I ate as much as I could and brought home the rest in a doggie bag for later. Now some chit chat. I was here on Xmas day. I guess the only day they open at noon time. Regular is 430PM. I was not alone. After being seated, taking a few pics it filled up quickly. This is a pricey place. My rum and coke alone cost 12.50, ouch. My steak fifty-four bucks by itself. Cream spinach eight dollars fifty cents. ooooooh. The staff was friendly and outstanding. BUT there was a hiccup. I had done my research and knew I wanted the Cowboy Ribeye. No Mistake on my part. Ah when I thought my meal was coming what did they present, ta da, a Porterhouse. EHHWRONG. I sent it back. The server looked at me funny but left without question. A few minutes later my Cowboy arrived as outlined above. So no foul all is well. Over all a good but expensive time.

4 stars because we came two years ago and it was a 5 star experience, but came two weeks ago and it was a 3 star. I feel it is only fair to rate 4 stars because our prior visit(that I forgot to review) was stellar. They offer a great classics menu where you get to choose a salad, entrée with a personal side, and desert for $ 45-$ 55. Great deal for this place. I had the house salad with blue cheese dressing and it was the best salad I have ever had! The blue cheese dressing as incredibly fresh with real pieces of blue cheese. Probably the best part of the meal. For entrée, I opted for the filet with shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, but the meat was sub-par. Fatty and just didn’t taste that great. The most disappointing part of the meal was the creamed spinach. Last time I had it, it was the highlight of the meal. This time, it was runny and under seasoned. I had been looking forward to it since we made the reservation. I actually found the Ruth Chris creamed spinach recipe online and mine turned out wayyyyyy better than theirs. Desert was strawberry shortcake with truffles and that was good too. Overall, good value for the money.

We took my mother-in-law here for her birthday dinner. We remembered how it was the last time we visited the steak house. We remembered all of the delicious food we ate. Unfortunately, our visit was a little disappointing. Here’s why: The waiter was a little awkward, poor timing on the jokes and whatnot. My wife’s steak was a little bit undercooked along with a thick band of sinew. The creamed spinach was undercooked and runny. Our drinks had to be sent back as they were overpowering. Ruth’s Chris did right though. They credited our meal and made sure we were happy in the end. Beyond that, the meal was very good, with everyone else’s meal being on point. Visit this joint, it is still a great place to eat and have a great steak.

*happy hour review* Updating this review to give it a little more detail and because Ruth’s Chris deserves it. I would recommend anyone go there for happy hour for the $ 8 entrees because they are better than anything else in coconut point and estero. Food– For dinner I had the steak sandwich. It came on toasted garlic bread, wonderfully cooked and seasoned filet, cooked perfectly to medium, and with s great bernaise sauce. I also split an order of the spicy fried lobster which was delicious. It tastes like the lobster you’d get at hibachi restaurants. Another member of the table got the steak salad and the steak on that was perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. It was medium well by request but still had loads of flavor, I think I tasted some kona seasoning. The burger was also delicious, probably the juiciest burger I’ve ever had. Service– Drinks were not refilled as often as they should have, but the food came out in five minutes flat. Again, I’d recommend the happy hour to anyone

I expected a lot better from this Ruth’s Chris. The one in Miami/Coral Gables is always such a fantastic experience. This location is full of servers that behave as if they’re working at a Chili’s. Chatty, obnoxious, and not the kind of service you expect at a place like this. We were brought out day old, dry bread. So bad even my kid didn’t want any of it. My salad was drenched in so much dressing that I couldn’t get through a third of it. Not good at all. My filet was good and cooked exactly right, but the side of shoestring potatoes were about 4 seconds away from being burnt. So my great steak was kind of killed by an almost burned side dish. Meh. Dessert was a cheesecake and probably the best part of our entire meal. My glass of water sat empty for almost 15 minutes before someone finally came around with water. The ladies room said quite a bit about this place. The toilet lid was broken and there was paper all over the floor. The cost of one steak should be enough to cover the repair job, so get on it. My family and I travel to the area quite often and with so many other dining options in the area, we will for sure not be back.
