A fair little thrift shop on the upper end of town, the Elizabeth Guild shop directly benefits the Estes Park Medical Center, so the money goes to a good cause. It’s not a lot(shirts are a dollar or two, jeans about the same), but I’m sure enter little bit helps. They accept credit cards, but request a $ 5.00 minimum purchase, which is understandable. This sets them apart from the Community Thrift Shop across the parking lot, and is a nice feature. They have a few nice items, but the Community Thrift usually has nicer items in my experience. Not all of their racks are labeled, either; we picked up a couple $ 1 shirts and a sweater that turned out to be $ 4. Kind of surprising when we checked out, not that it’s a bad price; some warning, however, would have been appreciated. All in all, it’s across the parking lot from the other shop, and gives you a chance to find a few extra budget treasures with a minimum of fuss.

I’ve been coming to the Elizabeth Guild since I was a kid. I’ve always been a fan of their toys, and then later their clothes and other goods. I’ve noticed that their prices have gone way up in recent years! They were selling an extremely damaged piece of pyrex(vintage bakeware) for $ 5. This sad little thing was so faded and scratched and chipped, I couldn’t believe they wanted that much for it. A lot of their dishes were really overpriced. The clothing was still moderate, but not the deal it used to be. I was disappointed. It’s still a cute little thrift store, but they’re definitely trying to take advantage of the tourist market.
