Got in the Lani Moku line at the Food Truck Fest last weekend because it was the shortest. The line grew quickly and for good reason. I had a mixed plate with teriyaki chicken and garlic chicken and both were heavenly. The funny thing is, I ordered teriyaki beef, but got the chicken. I didn’t care. Lani Moku could throw anything on my plate that comes out of their kitchen and I know it will be an incredible culinary experience. They won the people’s choice award at the Food Truck Fest and when I heard that on the news later, I felt like I’d hit the lottery jackpot. Twenty-eight food truck options to choose from and I picked the right one. They’ll have my business for a long time.

We found this place through Unilocal as a pitstop on a long road trip down from WA to CA. I would highly recommend coming here if you’re doing the same road trip! It’s a small 10 min detour from the 5. The food trucks are all located in the back of Beergarden. There were about 4 – 5 trucks in the back but it seemed like Lani Moku Grill was consistently the busiest. We got greedy and ordered spam musubi, fried noodles, and mixed plate. The portion size is HUGE though, it was def more than enough for 2 people. Spam Musubi: It was just ok. The slice of spam was way too small compared to the amount of rice. In addition the rice was also dry and not very flavorful. I would say pass on this. Fried noodles topped with beef: They reminded me of the egg noodles in Chinese cuisine. The beef itself was what I was disappointed with. The marinade was lost due to excessive amount of sweet chili sauce — the kind you get the supermarket. I liked the noodles though but the addition of all the sweet chili sauce just made everything oily. Mixed plate: We chose Katsu + garlic chicken + side of white rice and asian slaw. Meats were tasty, with a nice, crispy exterior you can dip in the sauce provided. Overall I think food is 3.5 stars but I loved the environment. Beergarden has an abundance of great beers and drinks that went well with all the food on a hot day. If I lived in Eugene I would have loved coming here to just hang out w/friends.

While I was craving a rice bowl from Kunfusion I looked up my trusty food cart aps, and I forgot about the carts here at the BG! I love the garlic chicken. It makes you never want to cross the line back to Hawaiian times food ever again! Well unless they are closed here, and you are desperate. My only complaint would be is I want more meat with that rice please!!! I guess I could have said extra meat please!!! But I felt it was sparse to begin with. Other than that it was da bomb!!!

I wish I could give this place more stars as I was hoping I’d finally found a more authentic tasting Hawaiian dish in town. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. Had the Pele which was just fatty chicken thighs drowned in sweet Thai chili sauce and the teriyaki beef which was hard to chew. I was hoping for more from reading the reviews. Mac salad was alright. Not sure I will go back

I truly like Hawaiian food and I am always on the hunt for it. While scrolling through Unilocal I came across this place. Plus, I haven’t been to the Beer Garden, so I guess two birds with one stone. The setting is great and makes for a picnic like experience. I went with my son and went to Lani Moku Grill. We got half pele and half teriyaki chicken with all mac. The teriyaki was a bit too smoky for me and the mac was heavier in texture than most mac salad that I have tried. I wasn’t a fan of this texture, but flavor was good. The pele chicken was great and it was the star of the plate. It wasn’t too spicy and not to sweet. Just right! The staff was friendly, upbeat, and great. If I am in the neighborhood, I will have no problems stopping by. Next time though I will be eyeing the garlic chicken!

The food was AMAZING. HUGE portion for $ 8. Had the Teriyaki beef with noodles. Very tender beef. Cold beer from the Beer Garden, an upscale but relaxed dining environment with good music and respectful people. I HIGHLYRECOMMEND :-)

The food is a bit different from other hawaiian foods ive tried but it has a unique difference. One example is the sauce for the katsu;it uses a plum type of sauce. Ebe. Though its different its still good nonetheless.

When you drive into beer garden’s parking lot, you’ll notice the teal food truck with the words«Lani moku» on it. After going through the beer garden building, you enter the covered and heated outdoor seating area and the food carts, Lani Moku Grill’s truck located on the far right corner. They have a simple menu of offerings, but the variety does not feel lacking. I chose the chicken katsu with rice, mac salad and guava cheesecake the first time that I came here. I thought that the katsu was tasty, but felt that it could use a pinch of salt as seasoning since I am accustomed to eating it plain. However, eaten with the sweet ume sauce given, it tastes amazing. There was a decent amount of rice, and the mac salad made me feel emotional and nostalgic because it tasted much like my mother The guava cheesecake was simply divine, probably one of my new favorite desserts in this town. The second time coming here, I ordered the mixed plate with teriyaki chicken and katsu with rice and mac salad. The katsu was satisfyingly crunchy yet tender and juicy. The teriyaki chicken wasn’t anything special, but comfortingly so. The first time I came here, it was around 9PM on a weekday, so it very quiet, not crowded, and relaxing… 5:30PM, not so much. If you come during peak eating hours, the parking lot can get quite full, and can get quite noisy, so keep that in mind when deciding when to go.

Not sure if Lani moku or kun fusion is my favorite food truck in town but this truck is utterly amazing. Garlic chicken is on point here, great texture and flavor. I couldn’t eat this stuff fast enough! The kalua pork is great, I think this truck has the best Hawaiian meat in town by a mile! Better than Hawaiian time for sure. Their mac salad is a little underwhelming but I don’t get Hawaiian for the mac, as much as the meat. I always call in my order and it’s always ready when they say.

Garlic chicken: good. Pulled pork: good! Mac salad: Goooood! Basically you can’t go wrong with the food or the staff. The owners have a lot of love in their business, and it shows. I feel like good Hawaiian food is hard to come by. Unfortunately I don’t live in Eugene, so I might just move there for Lani Moku.

Really good! Some of the better Hawaiian food I’ve had in the area. The service is fast and friendly too! We had the Garlic Chicken and the Kalua Pork with the mac salad and fried noodles on the side. All was excellent. I love that the mac salad has a lot of pepper. The teriyaki sauce provided as a condiment is thin and it is heavy on the soy sauce flavor, perfect for me! My wife prefers the thicker and sweeter variety so just be aware if this is also how you like it. We did not try the teriyaki chicken or beef so I am not sure how it comes on those. We will definitely be back. Try them out!

Had lunch over at the Chad location and was a bit disappointed compared to the other day at Beer Garden. The mac salad had too much mayo and the kailua pig was quite a bit too salty. Will try again but hopefully they can be a bit more consistent.

Local food in Eugene! Great little find at this food truck located at Beergarden. Located in the back patio where the food trucks are, you should see this truck right when you walk out. Combo dish is worth it — you get to pick two different entrees, served with rice and one side. I picked the garlic chicken & pele chicken(sweet & spicy) — didn’t disappoint! Also got the asian sesame slaw as a side. Perfect portion and it filled my tummy! Boyfriend got the garlic chicken & chicken katsu — also good, though they didn’t serve it with katsu sauce. This place def hit the spot!

Hawaiian plate lunch? sign me up! the garlic chicken in mouth watering-ly amazing, the mac salad is awesome and the rice with a bit of teriyaki sauce on it tastes great. The pulled pork was great too but I personally am not a huge pulled pork fan. I think my best advice would be to get your booty down to the beergarden to have some of this amazing food!

SUMMARY: AMAZING! You haven’t been yet? You better get with it and get over here… . DETAILS: I moved here to Eugene from Hawaii(by way of San Diego for 14 years) and have been longing to have some good«local» food or plate lunch as a lot of people know it. I am sorry but the Hawaiian food options in town are NOT authentic in my estimation and none even have the big fan favorites(like Chicken Katsu) … Sauces are sub par and the food is just not as good. Until… ENTERLANIMOKU… Holy Mambos Chelsy is awesome — not only is she first rate as a person and extremely customer service based but the food is AWESOME. Lets go through it because she was nice enough to let me sample the homemade sauces she makes. Pele Chicken — this is grilled and not breaded chicken cooked to perfect. The piece I had was white meat so I assume that it will be all white meat chicken(my fave). The sauce was spicy but not just HOT it was full of flavor. DEFINITELY will order this someday. Kahlua Pork — CHELSY nailed this. So I am a HUGE fan of using Hawaiian Rock/Sea Salt on Meat… Obviously she can’t use an Imu here in Eugene(well without some difficulties), but she nailed the flavor, texture, saltiness and all together ono-ness of TRUE Kahlua Pork. You haven’t ever tried it? What are you waiting for. Musubi — So Lani Moku makes a traditional musubi… I am not a fan of Nori(I know I know its almost sacrilegious) so Chelsy said that she would accept a special order for me when I want some… YES! Now to the BEST part — Garlic Chicken — for those of you not from Oahu — there is a place called Mitsu-Kens which takes the cake in all matters having to do with Garlic Chicken. Chelsy listened to my explanation and it sounded like she makes it similar(without having tried it herself I think)… I got the plate lunch(basically always two scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad with your entrée)… The garlic chicken melted in my mouth. It was cooked to perfection and the sauce was so spot on. I swear this woman has created a customer for life… I will use her for catering. SOFREAKING awesome… Don’t believe me? Try it… YUMM!!! So basically you need to JUST go and try this place. Next on my list — one of my faves — LOCOMOCO and trust me – you want to try Katsu Chicken if you haven’t tried it yet! Thank you for opening here Chelsy! I am happy we are able to support your dreams…

Tried a mixed plate with garlic chicken and pele chicken– so good. It sat in the car for 30 min on the way back to work too, and it was still amazing. The garlic chicken had a good flavor and I loved the pele chicken. It was spicy and flavorful and so good! Will definite be back again. And again. And again! Also, Coworkers tried pele beef, chicken Katsu and the teriyaki chicken and had good things to say about those too– looking forward to trying some of those items next time!
