She was professional with me. I felt like I had to preform a bit in order to be viewed as cooperative and human, though she was basically understanding and polite the whole time. She seemed to want to responsibly handle my medication, and I didn’t feel very objectified, and she was honest about not knowing how to help me without a diagnosis. She did not become frustrated. Our successful social interaction might have been due to my heightened social awareness at the time of the appointment, in addition to her creativity/experience with psychiatric disorders. I advise you don’t go into any first appointment with a psychiatrist in a confused or emotional state, or a weakened state at all, period, if at all possible.
