I first heard about the phở at Thai Cuisine from a friend of mine who is Vietnamese and whose grandma makes the best phở on gods green earth, so I trust him and I gave it a try. I’ve had phở from here 2 years ago and I’m not gonna lie. It sucked. It was just broth and meatballs. Growing up in the Bay, looking at it made me sad. I don’t know if it’s new owners or a new cook but the Phở that I had tonight was freakin DELICIOUS. A little on the salty side but good enough to get you over a hangover and put you in phở coma-tose(those who’ve had phở know what I’m talking about). Now as for the other food there… it’s decent. Not great but edible. It changes from time to time depending on who the chef is at the moment. As for the person’s comments from Los Angeles, I just have to say it is a COMPLETELY different world up here. You can not even come close to comparing the Asian food here with the food from down south. The Asian food from down south is so much more superior due to talent, quality, consumer demand, and freshness of ingredients. So for Humboldt standards, Thai Cusine is decent and as for phở… I phở-ken love it!

Terrible. Blocks from my house so I tried it many many times before finally giving up. The service is terrible, long waits from crappy small portions of inedible crap. Possibly Humobld’s worst restaurant and that’s saying something.

This place definitely takes the prize for descriptive restaurant name. I stopped in on a Friday to get out of the car and rest my eyes and rear end. My first impressions were a little skeptical. The place is a little rundown and there wasn’t anyone there immediately to greet me. I only had to wait a few seconds until the server said I could sit anywhere. While the service was sparse – there was only one server for the restaurant – I was taken care of promptly and effectively. Food-wise, I had the yellow curry and it was delightful. The portion was a little more than I was expecting. It came with a forgettable egg-roll and a generous scoop of rice. Overall, the food exceeded expectations. If or when I’m driving through Eureka again, I will definitely stop back in.

‘Thai Cuisine’ was OK, but I probably won’t go back. The service was good, but the food was just… OK. There are a number of better choices when it comes to dinner in the Eureka area, and within the same price range. This would probably be towards the bottom of my list, although I definitely wouldn’t call it ‘bad.’

Can I give no stars or negative stars? Can anyone please tell me how this place is even called«Thai Cuisine?» The stuff they serve is barely even edible food. The service sucks big time. My first and last experience here was probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. It was so bad I didn’t even tip the server and I know how hard they work because I’ve been there. When we first walked into this place one of the servers was rushing out the door with tears in her eyes. There was no one to seat us and we just stood around until, I’m assuming a friend of the restaurant owner who happened to be dining there, sat us and told us that our server was on break. Now what in the world is a server doing on break during a lunch rush? I then realized that the person that sat us was a friend like i had assumed because he was also there to eat and paid for his food. We sat around for about 15 minutes and were finally acknowledged by the manager, I believe, that came from the kitchen. He first sat down next to the guy that had sat us and was chit chatting for about 5 minutes or so and then realized we hadn’t ordered. Our food came out about 10 minutes later and out with it came another server from the kitchen. By this time I was confused as to who was our server and who I was to tip. I don’t think the staff of this restaurant said more than 5 sentences to us. The food was crap. I have never seen Thai food made this way. It’s a disgrace for the Thai culture to have their fabulous food represented this way. The noodles were undercooked, big time, and the food was cold. I thought about complaining but realized that this is just another one of those places that serves crappy food in Eureka, and it was nothing unusual. UPDATE: Thank goodness! They closed down and a new restaurant opened up and it’s bomby!!! Most legit SE Asian food in HumCo.

Most of the food is ok, but one of the last dishes I got was terrible. I can’t remember exactly what it was — mixed vegetables of some kind. It’s definitely not the best Thai food I’ve ever had(not even close) but it’s passable. The service is inconsistent. Good in a pinch if you crave Thai.
