Two words… wall art. I’ve been wanting to visit this shop forever. When I first stopped into Dragonfly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Then I wasn’t sure where to look, because this shop is tiny, yet packed with so much to see. With a unique mix of clothing, fun gifts, artwork, and wall art, I was honestly a bit overwhelmed. In this order, my eyes first went to the basket of bright colored yarn balls. Next, around the corner I noticed a large collection of matchboxes and then the amazing frames behind the register hanging on the wall. Locally handcrafted, they are one of a kind, and it’s my understanding from the owner that they don’t stay around very long. A great mix of vintage and new home accessories, I was particularly drawn to the great selection of paintings and carefully selected lamps. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the fabulous throw pillows around the store. See, there’s just too much to remember! Stop in and see for yourself! Along the cute Dempster/Chicago Avenue district.

I love to shop and hang out in Evanston. There are so many cool boutiques and plenty of good places to eat. That being said — my latest find, Dragonfly, is a real gem! Located on the east side of Chicago Ave. just north of Dempster, this relatively small space is chock full of interesting merchandise from small furniture and home décor to women’s clothing and accessories. The owner, Amy, clearly has a great eye and she fills the space with vintage and new merchandise that is fun to browse through. The merchandise also changes regularly so I always see something new when I stop in.
