Sadly now closed as of July of this year, according to an online article I only finally read yesterday. RIP, since I agree with the person quoted in the article it always was a reliable go-to(eat at) place in this part of Evanston!

I’ve been meaning to try this place since freshman year and I’m glad I finally got here after 4 years. I got the sausalito with no cheese which was the perfect size for lunch and the homemade chips were fantastic — crunchy and slightly spicy. Service was fast and I would definitely recommend to anyone around the area.

Basing this review only off of the barbecue chicken sandwich, it is great! Don’t forget about the homemade chips either! Only suggestion is to offer more seating!

Rollin’ To Go serves great sandwiches for $ 6 – 9. Lay’s potato chips are the default side, but you can get homemade potato chips for $ 0.50 more. Personally I don’t like the homemade chips because they’re inconsistent; sometimes they’re good, but other times they’re soft or oily or over/under-seasoned. Service is relatively fast and impersonal. Water is self-serve. There’s seating available inside, which will work for small groups, but this place is still best for take-out. It gets very busy during lunch.

It was my first time here and I LOVEIT!!! Never knew sandwiches could be so good. I got the Portobello sandwich with tomato focaccia bread. The bread was soft, and the filling of mushrooms, onions, pesto mayonnaise, basil leaves, and more were just perfect. Definitely coming here again, and bringing friends with me!

I found myself hungry in Evanston with a phone that was nearly dead today, so I picked the closest restaurant on Unilocal and went with it. The employees at Rollin’ To Go met me with utter indifference, but the food was so good that it was a non-issue. I ordered the sausalito, which comes with lime chicken, bacon, chipotle mayo, swiss cheese, and cilantro on a cibiatta roll and is absolutely wonderful. The lime and chipotle are the strongest flavors and they mix perfectly. For 50 cents extra, I got a baggie of Rollin’ to Go’s homemade chips, which were good, not great, but still a pretty decent buy. If I lived in Evanston, I would come here all the time.
