Saturday night, we had 6:30 reservations and were there on time(even a couple of minutes early) and seated promptly. That is where it ended. Our waitress started out friendly and took drink orders in a reasonable time. We placed our meal order when she came back with the drinks. Salads were served in a slow but OK timeline. After about a 30 minute wait, we explained that we had show tickets(her response was that most everyone did) and had her check on our food, she reported back that it would be soon. After more time lapsed we asked again, by now we knew we were in trouble. She then told us that our food was being«heated up»(not at all what we expected or wanted to hear) and it would be right out. Our food came out about an hour after we ordered, we asked for our tickets right away. The waitress knew that we were upset and no attempt to try to make the situation any better, in fact it seemed that she avoided us after that. We ate a few bites and left most of the food since by now it was almost 8 pm. We had added Delegge’s to our regular rotation of places that we enjoyed the food but it is now off of our list. Allow at least 2 hours to get your food. Also, the $$ should be $$$, it is pretty pricey especially if you don’t get to eat all of your food!

I had the worst dining experience of my life. Food was not there one hour after we ordered. We cancelled because we had concert tickets. Server then wanted to know if we could pay for the salad. Pay for the salad? It is my goal to tell everyone I know about this experience. One star because zero stars was not an option.

We started off with the fried zucchini and a bottle of Zinfandel. We didn’t care for the dipping sauce that accompanied the zucchini(it was a horseradish mix) so we requested ranch. We decided the ranch didn’t taste well with it either. I think next time we will try a marinara or an alfredo because the fried zucchini was delicious! I ordered the Pesto Pasta and my date ordered the Chicken Alfredo. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and I found the Pesto to be very flavorful! I didn’t care for the garlic bread but my date thought it was great so I can only assume that it is a matter of personal opinion:-) We ended the night by splitting a cheesecake with strawberry sauce. It wasn’t the best cheesecake I’ve consumed but it wasn’t terrible either. We enjoyed the décor on the walls. Right by our table was a 1985 picture of Don Mattingly and an olympic picture of Bruce«Kaitlin» Jenner. We noticed there was outside dining but it was a little too chilly for it that evening. We look forward to returning and sitting outside when it warms up!

Part of the scrappy North Main scene, DiLeggi’s is one of those local places that never fails. They take care of of you even if the food is hit and miss. Eat at the bar.

We waited for 20 minutes before anyone came to our table to greet us and ask for our drink order.

The pros are the chicken Parmesan was very good. The portion was huge. 2 chicken breasts and a large side of pasta. Appetizers were also pretty good. The cons are the salad looked like a bag mix, but it was fresh. The bread appeared to be frozen garlic bread. It tasted ok, just not what you typically get at an Italian restaurant. The waitress was good, but our food all came out at different times. If you are looking for good entrees, I would suggest it. However, if you’re looking for the nice salad and bread found at a lot of Italian restaurants, this is not your place.

This is a little mom and pop place. Old and not up to date décor but the best red sauce in 100miles. We live on East side and go their regularly. My college kids come home and want to go while on breaks. Prices are very reasonable. Very large portions, Rarely can finish. Baked ziti our family favorite but Veal and Eggplant parmesan great too. For a little spice add Italian sausage on the side.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in town. Their pasta dishes are my favorite. The Veal parmesan is my favorite meal $ 19. If you’re looking for a steak they serve two reasonably sized fillet mignon’s for $ 22. It’s called the Le Specialita Filetto Di Manzo. All meals are large enough for two meals! The interior leaves some to be desired but the food will not disappoint.

Our family visited Dilegge’s during Mother’s Day weekend. The décor hasn’t been touched in decades, and I think its safe to say the same about the menu. Portions were enormous, but the quality wasn’t up to par. My wife’s dish contained at least 2 – 3 full servings of pasta. My dish was fair. Someone else at our table had the fettuccine alfredo. I took a bite and it was pretty good. I’m sorry, but if you’re looking for Italian cuisine Olive Garden has better food. We will probably give this place one more chance someday.

I recently had lunch at Dilegge’s with my family and it was basically a flop. I’ve worked in multiple restaurants and I wouldn’t have served two of the plates that came to our table. I got a salad that was DRENCHED with the house dressing. You couldn’t see the bottom of the plate for all of the dressing that was pooled there. It was eating super soggy lettuce out of a lake. Ugh. My husband got the special — cod with tater tots. What came out with three tiny pieces of fish and few tots. It looked like a school lunch. Maybe their pasta dishes are great, but we won’t be coming here again.

Dilegge’s is probably my favorite Italian place in Evansville. The bar area is small and cozy, and a nice place for a drink or two. The portions are very large, especially for the price you pay, and I can’t usually finish the ‘small’ portions of the entrees(I would hate to see the large!) I like almost everything on the menu, especially the spaghetti and the eggplant parmesan. The only thing I’ve ordered that I was a little disappointed with was the ‘spicy’ vegetable pasta. It was a little oily and not spicy enough for my tastes, however, I have heard others rave about the dish. Their carryout is fast and accurate too, but I would suggest dining in for the best experience.
