Just your standard haunted maze, nothing that was really«wow, I’ve never seen that before.» Overall they did a good job, the actors did well whereas other places they will be chatting in between groups, etc. I hope as this maze gets older, they will start focusing less on having actors randomly pop out and more on creating a general scary atmosphere! Worth the trip with room to improve!

I visited Carleton Farms Haunted Swamp this past Saturday, using the Groupon I purchased. We arrived right after dark, around 7:20PM. There was already quite a line for the swamp, and the line moved slowly. We had to wait about an hour and half to get in, which ended up not being worth it. They let people in the maze in groups on six. We happened to be the 5th and 6th people of our group, so unfortunately we just witnessed people being scared, rather than experiencing it ourselves. When we got to the actors, they were just walking back to their hiding spots. I’m a scaredy cat, and I didn’t jump or scream a single time. I think we would have had a lot different experience had we been at the front of the group. I also would have been a lot happier if the wait was 30 minutes or less.

I loved what I experienced, particularly since this is only their 2nd year at haunting. If only I had found them sooner in the seaon so I could have visited the daytime maze and seen the pumpkin chucker in action! Once across the bridge I encountered a well laid out path with eerie disturbing sounds coming from within the cornfield. The swampy area is filled with strange mutants, the out buildings residents look interbred and the dwellers of the corn atrocious. There is a bat cave, a snake pit and someone offering ‘finger’ food as you make your way through the dark dank path. Well crafted haunt in a swampy corn field.

Okay, went there last night and I thought it would have much more fun trying to find ways out from the start. But nope, it was all set up that you have to follow from start to end. It took us about 15 mins to go thru and that was all. They had actors jumped out to scare you, that’s the only part I somewhat liked which is why I rated it two instead of one. The worse about it is it costs 13 dollars per person, you’d expect longest one and more fun as well as more challenge but nope. Very easy, very quick walk-thru boring maze. ever. I wouldn’t have rated it low only if they charged too much. About 7 is more reasonable, IMO. Don’t waste your money, there are better mazes out there for much cheaper and longer. Even more challenges. Also, they were supposed to open at 7p but many of us had to wait for almost 45 mins before they finally let us in at around 7:45p.

I really like this pumpkin patch for our family, as it is close to home, very family-friendly, and has never been over-crowded. They also have things my kids like to do that are free, including the hay ride and checking out all the animals. We always have a nice time here.
