I took my first trip to the Everett farmers market this weekend. It is a small but inviting market in the heart of Everett. Though it was small, the farmer had a great variety of produce for sale. Everything look delicious. I also enjoyed the hot jams pumping from the DJ booth on the library lawn. A unique experience.

Walking down Broadway in Everett one 90-degree Saturday morning, stumbled across this little gem of a market. Free samples of delicious bread? Yes please. They also have some vendors offering a nice variety of locally grown produce, including strawberries that looked too good to pass up. If you find yourself in the area on a Saturday, definitely stop here, but make sure to do so while it’s still warm out… it closes for the season in early October!

Although this is not a yuppafied market like Somerville or Cambridge(which I also love!), they did a phenomenal job for such a small up and coming market! They have an average of 2 farmers who are both super helpful. Nagog Hill Farm has the SWEETEST strawberries and the heads of lettuce and couple of tomatoes I purchased were still super fresh a week later! One of the volunteers also informed me that they will be adding an EBT machine to the market so that they can accept food stamps in addition to the WIC& Senior coupons that they already take. A couple of my girlfriends bought hand made jewelry from the lady there and the pieces are soooo cute and cheap!!! The place also smells like fresh baked bread thanks to the yummy baker there!!! And they hand out free samples! YUM!
