With a large-ish family BBQ this weekend for Father’s Day, I decided to avoid the craziness of the grocery store and drove to Franz Outlet on Saturday to get some hamburger buns. I knew full well I would buy more than hamburger buns as the other reviews indicated great deals, plus freebies! While this isn’t a celiac-friendly store(of which I am not), they do carry a limited selection of gluten free breads. The rest of the store is full of every kind of bread, bun, breadstick, and pastry you would expect Franz to have. Unlike the grocery store, where I buy store-brand products because Franz seems so dang expensive, this outlet store gets you store-brand prices for name-brand goods! At first I picked up some hamburger buns off their«fresh» shelf for regular price(an 8-pack for $ 1.89, I believe), but then I went a little further down the aisle and noticed their wall of sale price baked goods. These baked goods are still perfectly fine, but they are simply approaching their ‘best before’ date. I think it was 5 for $ 6 off the sale wall, so I proceeded to grab two bags of hamburger buns, some English muffins, and a loaf of the Bainbridge Island cinnamon bread. There was much more, but I stuck to those items. I also bought some Hawaiian sweet rolls for regular price. I spent just over $ 10, which meant I got to pick two things off of the freebie rack — score! I snagged a 4-pack of pizza bagels and a 6-pack of sourdough hoagie rolls. The store is convenient to my home, though not my regular grocery shopping, but you can’t beat the price and the staff were super fantastic! It’s worth the stop, for sure. Recommend parking in the lot to the side of the building rather in front of since it’s a little tricky to maneuver in such a tight parking lot

I think it is pretty cool here. Kind of standard. Staff is friendly and you get something for free once you spend 5 or $ 10.

I expected lower prices, but I still saved money from going to the store and buying bread and got a free item for spending $ 8.

Love this store! I have seen 4 different ladies there all were helpful. I joined weight watchers so they directed me to the higher fiber breads and light breads they had. Prices are 50−80% of grocery store bread. But this store even has Ciabatta bread and other specialty breads.

A great place for cheap(but quality!) bread and baked treats. And always friendly staff! My favorite local bakery. :)

Okay so I’m heading home after work and I take the East Marine View Drive exit because if I don’t I end up in Marysville and have to turn around. Anyway, I remember that Gai’s bakery used to be down the way and I decide to head over there. Well now it’s Franz’s Bakery Outlet. So, I decided to stop. I pulled into the parking spot and right away noticed a sign that said buy a gallon of milk and get a loaf of bread free. What? Wow this is my kind of store. So, I went in and saw something my friend talks on and on about Debbies snack cakes — I mean Little Debbie. Anyway, they have lots and lots of bread. I picked up some sourdough bread, then saw some Tim’s potato chips, they have some Red Mill products here but I didn’t get any, maybe next time. They even have coffee which was priced at 4.99 which is about what I pay for my coffee at Starbucks. I got some english muffins and they have quite an assortment — I was so excited about the assortment that I almost got my friend his favorite blueberry. But, I decided that if I didn’t I could tell him about them and we could go back. There is a method to my madness. Okay next I saw some squirrelly bread — which can be hard to find so I grabbed some. Then I saw spices at 1.00 a pop. I know you can usually find some spices for this price at the dollar store but I picked up oregano and they had a nice selection of spices. Even though I circled the pastries about 3 times I decided against them — I can come back you know. So I go up to the counter to pay. It comes to 8.56 including tax for the governor. Then she tells me «You spent over 8.00 so you get to choose an item from over on that rack.» What? free — can you imagine going into a regular grocery store and having them tell you that you get to choose something free. Yee Haw. So, I chose another squirrelly bread. Apparently it starts at 8.00 and you choose one item. At 10.00 you choose two items and it goes up. One lady when I was wandering around got to choose 4 times. Luck Butt. Anyway, check this place out it’s a pretty cool place and the lady who helped me was very nice. Oh yes they had fresh pies — but hey I can go back. They are open every day including Sundays so there is no excuse for not trying them.
