I discovered Joe’s a few years ago. Now, I have a regular barber who makes the mop look good consistently. Timeless, almost. And every time I go, I know I’m going to get Joe. I don’t have to go to Supercuts anymore and sadly learn that the«stylist» who did a half decent job cutting my hair the last time got canned, ran off to Vegas to become a dancer, or got a higher paying job at Taco Bell. Joe’s has been in this same storefront near 95th and Kedzie since 1957 or so, and it doesn’t look like it’s changed much. So the place is the totally old school, and that’s a very good thing. You get all the colorful regulars that you’d expect to find at the barber shop. The place is always crowded, which is a testament to the quality of the haircuts and neighborhood barber shop experience it offers. True barber shops like this have become very rare in the modern hair styling world, and I’m glad I found one. Overall, a great place. Here’s to it being around for another 50 years!
