Stick to Pete’s Ewing Diner if you’re looking for good food. The hostess here is a miserable woman, unfriendly and just nasty. The food is ok, and the wait staff, often shared with his other diner, is usually the highlight. Stay away after dark, there seems to be a group of women that delight in trashing the place and making your night a living hell. Currently closed due to a small fire.

Huge selection of breakfast omelettes and not badly priced. Always a nice portion of bacon in the morning. Lunch and dinner ok as long as you stick to diner classics(club sandwich, etc).

Nothing better than coming here late night when a cat fight breaks here and they start throwing chairs and tables at each other. Love the fish pot pie

Good diner! Fresh fried flounder. The cream of turkey soup is thick flour soup with no turkey, but that’s all diners.

Two Petes is 2 blocks from my house. I can’t say I love this place. For some reason, when I think about the food, I never think of is it as all that tasty. Some things I’ve tried have been pretty good: Banana Pancakes included a nice portion and Cream Chipped Beef was mediocre. The overall thing that bothers me is why both Two Peters and The New Ewing Diner on the other side of town exceed what I consider normal diner prices. I understand that the insides are renovated but it surprises me that these diners, located in low to middle class areas, charge 12 dollars for typical breakfast meals. Also, the waitress we had kept calling me «Amish» because I was wearing suspenders and was just annoying throughout the meal. Wish I had a more lovable diner around the corner from my house…

I was in town with a co-worker and decided to stop by for lunch. We were greeted warmly the moment we walked in the door. I had the French Toast with a side of Turkey sausage and a coffee. My co-worker had the chicken rice soup and the beef goulash. I had 3 very large slices of French Toast and 4 links of the sausage. My French toast was very good and the links were good as well. The coffee was decent. My co-worker finished everything put down in front of him so I’m guessing he liked it. Although I didn’t order any dessert, they looked amazing in the display case. I must say the bathrooms were clean and updated. My visit was a bit after the lunch rush so there was some areas that needed some additional cleaning. The service was excellent and very friendly. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food I received.

Two stars only because the service was excellent and very very friendly, otherwise it would have been zero stars. Based on so many positive reviews, my business colleagues and I decided to give this diner a try for a lunch meeting. When we arrived, the diner was very crowded… a really good indicator that we had made a good choice. However, we found all four of our entrees very lacking. The soup of the day was highly recommended by our waitress – seafood bisque. It was terrible! Basically just like Campbell’s cream of mushroom condensed soup straight out of the can. A big white gloopy mess that no e of us sampled more than two bites of. Grilled chucked tasteless, onion in onion rings overcooked. A sad dining experience so poor that Two Peters will not get a second chance. Not sure what brought so many other diners into this restaurant – clearly they all never ate anything we ate that day!

Once upon a time, there was a Jersey Diner on Olden Avenue called The Extension Diner. It had good food, but was old and tired. A reviewer stopped in for breakfast once in a while on his way to court. He loved the counter service, the humongous muffins displayed in front of him, and the bottomless cup of coffee from the Cecilware perk antique coffee maker. When he semi-retired, and stopped visiting«The Ex,» the diner was so sad, it decided to close its doors. Two guys named Peter came along. They saw the bathetic eatery and its promise. They decided to buy it, modernize it, and reopen with a fresh face, new menu, and the old Cecilware coffee maker. Eventually, the reviewer came out of retirement, strapped on his suit and long sword, and returned to slaying dragons. Driving down Olden Avenue he beheld the new Two Peters Diner where the old Extension used to be, and stopped in to see what it was about. Much to his amazement the new joint was beautiful. Everything inside was new, spacious, bright and cheerful. The maidens were just as friendly and courteous as he remembered; the Cecilware coffee just a wonderfully dark and rich. Half the long counter was gone, replaced by a large cake/pie display. Still, he found a spinner and slid onto it. As in past ages the muffins were directly in front of him as if time had not moved them from their appointed place. They were still very large, with pillow tops and trim paper bases. Had to have one. Cranberry it was. Toasted, it was still soft with a moistness that bespoke freshness. The texture was dense, compressing pleasantly when chewed, and slowly releasing its sweetness, and mild acidic cranberry charm. It crumbled slightly on the plate, but was easily captured with the tines of the fork. With Cecil coffee, it was an ample breakfast. Two Peters is a worthy successor to the old«Ex.» In many ways a vast improvement. This knight errant will make it a regular stop on his quest to slay the firebreathers.

i love having a decent 24-hour diner in the area. i love that two peters is cleaner and has really good quality dishes, unlike it’s predecessor– the parkway diner. i love the pesto chicken bacon avocado panini. it was hot, fresh, loaded with bacon and avocado(so great to see a place that doesn’t skimp), and it was HUGE. it needed a dash of salt because the chicken and the flatbread were pretty bland, but no biggie. i love their split pea soup. i can’t believe i ordered it, but they were out of matzo ball soup(which is understandable, considering it was a little past midnight when we were ordering). a cup of soup comes free with a sandwich between 10am and midnight… and apparently a little after midnight too :) the split pea soup really was fantastic, and i’m not usually a fan of split pea. now i want more. i love the look of this place. large, bright, clean. the tables weren’t sticky. this is not common for any 24-hour diner i’ve been to late at night. i love the staff. there was no grumpiness here, none of the snippy-ness i’ve become accustomed to in other typical jersey diners. service was quick, thorough, and friendly. yay. i love the dessert case. i wish i had enough room to try one of the sweet treats, but i was stuffed after eating half of my panini. next time, cake. next time. the prices are a bit high by diner standards, but the quality and service are great and the portions are huge. i’ll definitely be back.

Looking for a little bit of Ireland, on this St Paddy’s day, we decided to order takeout from Two Peter’s Diner. I was hoping to meet the two Peters, whose name is on the marquee, but unfortunately only one was there and he was busy in the kitchen. Our server Jessica, cheerfully let me know what’s on the menu for today including entrees, soups, salads and dessert. We opted for corned beef and cabbage with baked potatoes, peas and carrots along with broccoli soup and rice pudding. The soup was delicious. The corned beef and cabbage were both moist and delicious, but the potatoes were a little dry. We spooned some of the juice over them and they were fine. The rice pudding was moist and sweet, as rice pudding should be. The restaurant itself was neat and clean, and the other waitresses were pleasant. From the outside, you’d never know how large the dining area is. The photos don’t really do the restaurant justice. I recommend, if you’re ever in the Ewing NJ area you give Two Peters Diner a try.

Found this after Crystal Diner also 24⁄7 was closed. The outside does not give you that warm cozy diner feeling, but when you enter that all changes as the very friendly staff made me feel welcome. Coffee was good, but the water is straight up nasty! After asking the waiter about it he said«you are not from here are you. Trenton water is not something you drink.» The Matzo Ball soup was good. Felt as if the broth was not overly salty and the Matzo Ball large and tasty. I enjoyed it more than my sandwich. I had the turkey club and felt as if it was just okay. The turkey was a little bland and the bacon was more fat than I would have liked. All together on rye bread it was just okay. Also, in place of the fries I got them to slip a fruit cup in place of that and was very happy with the overall quality of mixed fruit. I just hope it was not washed with the dirty tap water… So, overall this place is not bad for a 24⁄7 diner and after writing this review I came back for lunch…

Went to this place once to try the food and tip a good friend of mine who had just gotten a job here. The service was great, the busboys were very attentive, the food was okay, and so was the atmosphere. Really nothing special. The reason why I give this place 1 start, when it should really get 0 stars and the place should be shut down is because of the exploitation these two Pete’s get away with. I have myself seen abuse in the back when I worked at restaurants, but this place is on top of the list of discrimination and exploitation of people’s needs. If you are looking for a place to eat, I encourage you to find another place. If you knew how these Pete’s treat their workers, you would probably never want to step foot in this place like me.

This place is the Crown Jewel of Olden Avenue. The food is delicious. I’ve never gotten anything here that I would hesitate ordering again. Plus, the portion sizes are huge. Granted, I might be eating myself sick because the food tastes so good, but even a small meal gives me a stomach ache. I don’t know what it is… something just doesn’t sit right with me… It’s not a terrible pain, and it’s not food poisoning, so I don’t generally avoid this place if my friends want to go there… but if you have a sensitive stomach, beware.

How can fried chicken be made more amazing? Dip it in honey. Think of that first bite, an extra crunchy sweet coating leading into a juicy center of steaming hot chicken. Came here for breakfast and as I scanned the specials, honey dipped chicken caught my eye. Yes $ 14 for 2 eggs, toast, and homefries… completely worth it considering you get leftovers for 2 more meals. The plate came as I was half way down a good cup of coffee, just enough time for me to work up an appetite. It was an enormous plate of homefries(that are very bland, no seasoning or veggies — only downfall of the platter), 2 perfectly cooked eggs and a separate plate for all the goodness of 3 pieces of chicken. At first bite, I knew I was going to have a hard time taking a bite of an egg or a piece of toast. Thankfully my fiancé ordered an equally awesome platter of pesto chicken panini and fries. The panini was engorged with chicken slathered in pesto, topped with thick slices of ripe avocado and crispy strips of bacon. Hey… breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The service was friendly and attentive, our coffee cup was never empty! Needless to say we will be returning to give other things on their menu a try and this has made it to my list of awesome Jersey diners!

Both Two Petes and Ewing Diner are awesome as they are owned by same people(never met them but must be nice folks :). Quality of their food, staff, and value is why I rate this place 5 stars. ONE thing, they only have 1 bathroom stall in the men restroom(bad design).

Had a lovely late lunch at 2peters today. Delicious chicken, portobello, and cheddar panini and tasty fries — and free soup. My friend had some decadent rice pudding with a nice dollop of whipped cream and cinnamon. The waitress and all the staff were pleasant and attentive. So glad parkside diner is gone and this gem has taken its place. I will be back.

It is indeed owned by the same guys who run the New Ewing Diner, where I’ve been eating for years(even back when it was just the Ewing Diner). Two Peters seems to have slightly better food — can’t tell why, it does see to be the same ingredients. The menus are about the same. It’s excellent food. Moderately priced for a diner(not cheap, but not expensive). I go on a regular basis. And if you see Pete the owner, be sure to tell him in Greek that you love his restaurant. Say Eh — hoe — tree — ah — are — hid — ee — ya! He’;ll give you a free Coke if you say it correctly.

Two Peters Diner is owned and operated by the same guys who own and operate Ewing Diner. Based on our lunch today, its clear that to create the Two Peters Diner, the owners pretty much just hit the«replay» button on their Diner Success Machine. The menu is identical to the Ewing Diner, as far as I can tell. The turkey club was overloaded with real turkey breast(not deli turkey), and the egg salad sandwich was overloaded with… egg salad. Unfortunately they serve those abominable coated french fries. The split pea soup was surprisingly tasty, and the tapioca pudding was satisfying. The staff are just as good here as they are at the Ewing Diner, and the vibe is very similar, too. The interior is pleasant. They have a big case of homemade cakes, pies, and cookies. The one way this diner is better than the Ewing Diner is that Two Peters has large picture windows that allow you to look out onto Olden avenue. That might not seem like much to look at, but I definitely enjoyed the view here a lot more than at Ewing Diner.
