So, I called ServiceMark because my bathroom on the second floor was leaking into the living room when I showered. When I talked to the dispatcher, she informed me that they would have everything on the truck that they needed to fix the problem and if they didn’t have the necessary materials they would run out to the local hardware store and get them. So, ServiceMark shows up to my house. Upon arriving the service rep asked me what I thought the problem was. I told him what the problem was and he said ok I am going to check it out. He proceeded to go upstairs check the pipes and splash water around the shower. 15minutes later he came down stairs and confirmed that water was leaking out of the shower when the shower was on. Keep in mind, I told him the water was leaking from the shower to begin with. So he informed me that his supervisor was going to call me with an estimate to calk the shower. Whatt? He doesn’t have calk on the truck? That is not included in the $ 60.00 general labor fee I was charged? He Also showed me where I could apply the calk. I asked him if he could also give me an estimate on replacing the shower door and if he could give me the number of a good drywall guy in the neighborhood. He said yes, and his supervisor will call me. That visit cost me $ 151.00. I am a handy person. The reason I called ServiceMark was because they offered a warranty on their work. I did not want to fix 2 Days later I called and complained. Dispatch told me they would have the branch manager call me. Some time passed and I assumed they handled the matter internally and brushed the issue under the table… So one month goes by and I still haven’t heard anything. But, the charge of $ 151.00 finally showed up on my credit card statement. So I called back and complained again. Again, dispatch told me that they would have the manager call me. I told them no, this would have been the third time he has gotten the same message. So they agreed to contact him directly and transfer me through. Finally I got to talk to him. He said that he didn’t receive any of the messages and he would look into my file and give me a call back. 20minutes later he called me back apologizing for the incontinence and told me he would issue a full refund.

I moved into a new home and with it came along the existing annual service contract with Servicemark. My heater stopped working. This happened a few times and was able to be self corrected by turning unit off/on. After the third time of waking up in a cold house, my first call was to the home warranty company that came along with the purchase at settlement. They sent out a tech who was friendly and the system up and running, but there was not able to diagnose a problem. After round 4 of waking up in a cold house and not able to get the system back up and running, I called Servicemark. At 730AM, Patty(I think?) answered the call and was compassionate, friendly, and responsive. She told me that a tech would be out slightly after 10AM. Less than 45 minutes late(and nearly two hours early!), a tech was at the house. Rich diagnosed and fixed the problem in under 5 minutes. He was professional and courteous. Most importantly, he was able to explain the problem in plain English and instruct on how to address a future occurrence. Even with the one malfunction, he got the system running, but also took time to explain all aspects of the unit and recommendations for getting other things(humidifier, better venting) set up with the unit. Absolute A+ experience.

The compressor in our AC unit burned out in the middle of summer. I called Service Mark and they came out the same day. They were very detailed in explaining the severity of the burn out and told me they would install filters and replace the refrigerant twice to ensure the new compressor didn’t get damaged. I got estimates from other companies and none of them included this follow up. The Service Mark technicians are exteremly reliable and punctual. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future!

Regrettably I have an annual service contract with servicemark(which I will not be renewing). Our heating system broke and the service technician assigned was extremely rude. When I asked for another technician to be sent to the house because I was uncomfortable having this person in my home(I have 3 small children) they couldn’t send another technician over until the following day. This happened in February during 30 degree weather. Annual contracts should provide emergency service and it should be delivered by technicians who know how to talk to paying customers. There are many heating and cooling companies out there and consumers in Philadelphia would be better off seeking services from another company.

I run a non profit photography company. We were doing work in a local studio and we had an urgent need for heating help. Service Mark responded quickly, gave is a quote to do the work at 250.00. They did the work and then soaked us for 1080.00. I couldn’t believe the disparity. We felt like they completely took advantage of the situation. I will never use them again.
