JJ’s Pub and Grill

The best bar in Bergen county. Family friendly as well as a late night with your wife or husband. No matter your age, jjs is the place to be. They have the best bartenders I have ever met. They are attentive, alert and personable. The staff is excellent. The food is above par. The burger is the best I have had in Bergen county. The mozzarella sticks are amazing and come with at least 10 per order. I highly reccomend jjs pub for any after work occasion and or weekend festivity.

A great local bar that I have been going to for years. The bartenders are great people and care about their customers. The food is great and they do specials like $ 1 mugs during Yankees and Giants games. Plenty of tvs as well. They also host special events such as eating contests, cook offs and holiday events.

Good dive bar. Nice staff, decent bar food and cheap beer. Bartender even gave us a discount on the pitchers we got.

I wanted to give 3.5 stars but i was feeling nice and decided to round up. JJs pub is a local favorite of mine for sunday football. I used to come here more frequently (every sunday and for notre dame games) than I do now but there is no reason for this except i have cut down on my drinking. Its got a nice sized L shaped bar with ample seating. Bartenders are friendly enough. At peak times it can be hard to get a drink. One bartender on duty during football games? Not really a recipe for quick service. Wide variety of bottled beers and tap beers. Average price for bottles ($ 3-​$ 4) and average price for shots as well 4 – 5 bucks. Not really into mixed drinks so not quite sure of the price. Best part of JJs is the specials on Sundays. 1 dollar mugs and towers of beer at a good price. Sunday food menu is pretty solid as well. The food is good not great but more than gets the job done for pub food. Chicken wings are pretty good. The chili as well is quite good. Wide variety of sliders which are also pretty delicious. Decent amount of parking. If main lot is full there is a lot next door and one across the street. Crowd varies in age. Some regulars tend to get extremely loud n rowdy. They are usually older gentlemen. The one time i was there an older man fell asleep standing up with his head on the bar. So i guess they over serve patron. Big buck hunt video game in the back serves as entertainment as well. Also have dart boards for the bar athletes. Abundance of tvs and the nfl and mlb package allow you to catch any game you could possibly fathom. Just be careful on your way out as cops frequently are passing by.

This pub is a landmark in Fair Lawn, and serves as a peaceful meeting ground largely consisting of Saddle Brook and Fair lawn residents. I gave this pub 5 stars for the 3 following reasons.

I have been a regular JJ’s customer for 2 years, and during my tenure there I have already become a part of their summer softball team, become very close with the staff, and have shared memories with my friends that will never be forgotten. I have also personally requested a certain TV show or game to be put on the TV and have been accommodated. The only thing that upsets me is that I still haven’t received a nickname. =/​The ages of the employees ranges from 25 – 60, which promotes a very diverse and cultured atmosphere. The cooks are exceptionally friendly and will cook specifically to your preferences. Quite possibly best of all is their smoke-​show blonde bartender who not only makes the perfect drink, but also converses with each customer as if they are a friend.
The price.
I have never been to a bar that is friendlier on the wallet than JJ’s. At any time during the year, you can get a 12 oz. ice cold mug of Budweiser or Bud Light for just $ 2. Additionally, during ANY Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, and Devils game, the cost of those 12 oz. mugs is reduced to $ 1. Therefore, at any point during the year, you can go watch «the game» on any of the 16 TV’s and get wasted for $ 10. Bottled beer is typically in the $ 2.50-$ 4 range, and features a variety of selections.
The convenience.
This may be more personal than the other categories, but JJ’s is by far the most conveniently located bar in reference to my home. I live approximately 0.5 miles from JJ’s (or hooks as the regulars call it) and the only «Test» I need to pass on my .7 999 BAC drive home is the ability to distinguish the difference between the colors RED or GREEN at the stoplight on Broadway. After that it’s smooth sailing. DONT DRIVE DRUNK PEOPLE. One of the best things about JJ’s is that it is also doubles as a liquor store! If you ever feel like having an «in» night, but still want to cruise through a couple brew-ha’s, stop over at JJ’s for ice cold beer TO GO.
To sum things up, JJ’s might actually be the best place in the world. Recent clinical studies have shown that side effects of frequent attendance are:
— enhanced sexual drive and stamina
— better looks
— popularity
— exponential muscle growth
— a fuller, better groomed beard
— salary increase
— whiter teeth
— fertility
If I ever have a son, I wouldn’t think twice before naming him JJ. He would certainly have some big shoes to fill.

Let me start by saying, I’m not a fan of this place at all. There are many other local bars that are much better then this place and I’m kind of upset I’ve had the pleasure of «Checking-​in» to this place enough times to be the former «Duke».
This place is nothing special, just your typical outdated Irish Pub. Wood floors, wood bar with cheap plastic top, wood paneling all over the walls, bright lights on and a few tables that look like they belong in a school cafeteria… The only reason i have come here is because a lot of my friends come here for some reason i cannot quite wrap my head around. There are bars within 10 minute drives of this place that are much nicer or even have cheaper drinks if you wanna go that route. This place is a just a regular bar with regular prices, mediocre bar food that closes their kitchen earlier then most bars, and no women bar tenders.
The only thing this place has going for them is they have $ 1 Coors light mugs during certain sports games like if the Yankees are playing and stuff. They also have towers which you can get for like $ 26 or something which is cool to drink with a group.
If i never came back to this place i wouldn’t lose sleep over it. I am giving it 2 stars on my review because its not that bad or gross. I just don’t like the fact a lot of people praise this place when its not even a cool dive bar or anything, its just a sub-​par Irish Pub.

Wings and burgers are really good. Didn’t see any ripped chairs or dirt. Lots of TVs. The ladies room was clean, which is hard to find a neighborhood bars. Had fun at the Luau and Oktoberfest events

Great neighborhood bar! People are friendly and the bartenders are nice. I come here a lot to watch Sunday football and always have a great time. The barstools don’t bother me when I’m enjoying my sweet heat wings and watching the game!!!

Walked into JJs and felt like I walked into 1980. The bar had a few scary patrons and the place is gross. The chairs are ripped and the décor is dirty. For some reason they have a ton of Boston Redsox items hanging up. In Fair Lawn nj ???
I would never go back to JJs unless I had a recent tetanus.

This place is trashy, dive, place of fights, drunks, betting, violent behavior, felons, and it is all condoned by management. A true menace to society and still a cash business that should be carefullly audited by the IRS.
