It’s been a long time since I stepped into The Stockman Club. I had just finished a couple brews and a meal down the street when I heard someone mention Stockman’s. Immediately attentive, I looked at my wife with a raised eyebrow, no words spoken, and we headed straight there. I don’t know why but an ice cold PBR is a wonderful thing. PBR on tap here. What I didn’t remember was how clean this place was(maybe it wasn’t years ago but it is now). Old school ¾ circle padded booths, a funky table with two retro metal frame padded chairs, a cigarette machine, two pool tables, a hidden ATM, juke box, and a bunch of really friendly patrons. Nothing was sticky, not even the people. There are some craft beers that rotate and full bar options. A perfectly quaint and friendly dive bar. I’m won’t wait so long before coming hear again.

Great little dive bar in Fair Oaks. The atmosphere is low key. They have two pool tables and the drinks are cheap. Pool is $ 1 a game. If you’re looking for a place to just chill, this is the spot. No food some don’t come hungry.

Great beers on tap, 805, Sculpin, Guinness, great old school jukebox and you gotta go on Tuesday day & Saturday day & see the most awesomist bartendress in town, Trish! Tell her Cheree sent you!

This place is decent. Seems like the same people are there each time. No major complaints.

Best! Like Cheers, but better and in real life. Drinks are on point. Bartenders are so great — they know their stuff, and don’t take crap from anyone. Best local bar ever! Bouncers are awesome too!

What can’t I say about Stockmans. Best bartenders, rad locals/regulars, great prices, and chill atmosphere. If you’re into clubby dance halls and loud sports bars, this quaint dive is not your place. But if you wanna have a heart discussion about the rising chicken population in Old Fair Oaks with a hot bar tender and a 97 year old man, this is your jam.

Best little hole in the wall bar with nice bartenders, personable clientele and a local, hometown feel. A not to be missed location if In the Fair Oaks area.

I guess as a male, when you have an empty glass in front of you, and the bartender walks by(not serving anyone else) it means«I’m good» and he won’t offer another round. That’s should be great for business. Otherwise the female bartenders are no only awesome and beautiful.

Tons of fun, great bartender, stronger drinks, cheap PBR… love the old corner booths, dive bar? Yeah, but an awesome one. Edit: And thank goodness they don’t let weirdos«VAPE» inside, go outside with the rest of the derelicts, kudos Stockman Club!

Awful! They are living in the stone age. They do not allow ecig/vapeing inside. When asked why I was not given an answer aside from«some people might not like it.» Crappy beer selection. Absolutely a shitty dive bar. I will not be returning. I had planned on getting smashed but the rude bullshit and inability to vape forced me down the street to Players. Wake up Stockmans. You aren’t classy enough to be so picky.

Stockman club is a great dive bar. They have Newcastle on tap, pool tables in the back. Great location in Old Fair Oaks, plenty of parking close. One of the best things about this bar is the jukebox, where else can you get 4 plays for $ 1 anymore.

This is a straight up dive bar. I love it! Juke box, pool table, TV with some sports, drink specials and the sweetest bartenders. Now remember everyone dive bars are for a certain breed of human. If you get ticked off easily by the daily weirdo that comes into a bar(I’m a bartender and this happens every shift) please don’t go to a dive bar of all the places. You’ll feel uncomfortable and possible a little angry. Now aside from patrons. This bar is fantastic wish there were more seats as it got packed again after we got there but luckily we have a spot saved for us. Felt a little bad for the people standing behind us. A good place if you’re a fan of dive bars.

This is the real deal. A way cool old-timey bar in a way cool part of Sacramento. Fair Oaks Village is pretty outré, and this bar rocks the mid-century vibe while somehow staying current.(Well… you see dudes in trucker hats, far too late to be honest and slightly too late to be ironic, so… that’s not so current, but still…) The Jukebox is stocked with decent tunes and the interior is bizarre and the crowd is above-average for the region, and it’s a fun place to tie one on. Zing!

Holy smokes — WTF happened here! This bar is HITORMISS — I mean that literally, sometimes you’re threatened to be beat other nights its fine. Reminds me of school drama. Once upon a time, circa 2008, I had a great review of this place on Unilocal.I’ve been forced to delete that review and it breaks my heart because it was 4 stars. Stay clear. Bad news drama. This was a favorite watering-hole gone bad. Trashy and so sad because I loved this place. I contribute this to the change in bartenders. It now seems very clear that the early week bartenders are very rude and disrespectful — even when off duty(I will elaborate on this more in a minute). I am going to attempt to be two-sided on this review. because this is a personal experience, but an important one, because clearly management is sliding. Last Halloween, I attended Stockmans annual event, I mistakenly sat on someones motorcycle for a picture(without permission from its owner) and a fellow yelled at me. Under the influence, I flipped off said fellow who was«in costume»(later to find out he was bouncer). Soon followed by being asked to leave(which I did). This is not where the review ends. Since I’m a regular at Stockmans I’ve been in several times post-then and never saw said person(Tommy) who asked me to go that night — while the situation was inappropriate(on my behalf) the way Stockmans reacted was also rude and hostile — to someone who had not intention of doing anything wrong, it was just a misstep. I was upset but understood. Forward to yesterday, when I have the luck or mis-luck of being served by the bartender(former bouncer from Halloween — Tommy) and I see the bike owner from Halloween chatting it up with a lady I’ve not seen before at the bar. I scoot down, apologize for the Halloween mishap and am rudely interrupted by the lady about how rude I am, yada yada and why did I sit on his bike(circa 6 months ago) during my apology. Now this is where things get interesting, I have to move down on the bar because things are getting so hostile on her behalf. After I move she is screaming about beating my ass in the parking lot and to put me on blast for her shift(OMG — she works there? If I was the owner I would have been appalled by her behavior regardless of if she was on or off the clock — totally inappropriate). She’s going psycho for like 15 minutes and 2 patrons leave, because its getting ridiculously uncomfortable. Mariam the bartender continue to threaten about coming outside when I leave and I am forced to asked Tommy(bartender who previously booted me on Halloween) to walk me to my car — which looking back he should have called a cab, but things were getting too hot too quick). After I leave, I call another Stockmans bartender Becky and explain what went down because I thought she had some authority — turns out that call went disregarded. Random side bar — if you go to stockmans facebook page you will find many pictures posted of women sitting on said motorcycle(with and without the owners permission) Caution…things have really changed in 2012⁄13. Service is in the gutter, unless its Fri or Sat or Sun. Be very careful about the hostile service including the bartenders who are off duty getting smashed at the bar. The worst part is there were only 5 people in all at the bar and I clearly understand why. Sadly, I will not be back by choice and I really liked this place, it is also in my backyard and I know several people who come here so it may be hard to avoid. I will do my best to keep NEVER coming back until I hear things change.

I am not ashamed to admit this– I am a «regular» at Stockman Club. My best friend and I frequent this little, dim lit bar often after this kiddos are down for the night. Our favorite place to de-stress, with strong drinks, a cool atmosphere, a jukebox(that NEVER plays rap. imagine that!), pool tables, and clean bathrooms. A little bench outside for us smokers :) The music is never too loud to hear over. You don’t have to do acrobatics around wasted people dry humping in the middle of the room. You don’t have to wait and wait for a bartender to catch you standing there awkwardly, in between them flirting with the guests. The endless supply of strange people is AWESOME. I love to people watch, and have never found a bar better for that activity than Stockman’s. It is a safe, small, neighborhood bar that I am proud to say«everybody knows my name.» And that takes me to my favorite part of my Stockman’s experience– Bartender Bob. He alone makes us come back every time! Well, him and the roosters that scream at all hours of the night in the park across the street. This is Old Fair Oaks, after all.
