I was so excited to get my first blowout from cherry blow dry bar, but I have to say I left very disappointed. Here are the facts: — the only reason I’m giving this place a star is only because of the customer service and location. It was a beautiful facility and each worker was extremely courteous and nice. –you have to choose your style from a look book. I had brought a picture in that I wanted my hair styled like, but they had asked me to pick a style from 8 – 9 photos in their book. –i came in with three friends, each with different lengths and textures of hair. All of us asked for mega volume, since we were going to a wedding but nothing the stylists did was enough to make a difference — I asked for curls in my hair and specified to the woman that since my hair is straight, I need to ensure my hair stays put. It was fine for five minutes, but as soon as I got in my car to go home, it was almost completely flat, and each of my friends that came with me had the same thing happen to their hair as well. A good blowout is supposed to last about a week, this barely lasted an hour. — in case you’d like to know the do’s and donts of a blowout, read this article. They literally did each of these things which really concerns me
–I had to come home and do my hair all over again to make it look halfway decent. –I was honestly rooting for this place to be awesome since it’s so conveniently located and such a hip and trendy thing to do with friends. Maybe because it’s a fairly new establishment but I was hoping for a great blowout. I hope cherry blow dry bar learns from their lessons.

I’ve been to this location thrice cause its super convenient to where i live. The ladies at the front desk are always super nice and quick to offer you a drink. My stylist the first time was pleasant enough and did a good job with my hair. I do have a full head of hair and i warn people when i call that its thick and long. I went to the same stylist a couple weeks later during holiday party season and she seemed a bit harassed. She made at least 3 comments about how my hair was super thick and it was taking her forever to get it done. She also complained about how she was super exhausted working on long hair all day and groaned when her next client walked in with a full head of hair as well. At this point i was a little confused since isn’t it a stylists job to do hair? I also thought it extremely unprofessional to complain about my hair in front of me. The curls i got were flat within 1 hr exactly so basically i wasted $ 50 that day. I could have saved myself the trip and the sass. If only i remembered her name I would totally add in on here. I had them change my next appointment a week later to a different stylist and she did a wonderful job. She was extremely nice and was super sweet about me apologizing for how long it takes to do my hair. I had a nice glass of champagne and a fuss free appointment. Overall its a nice place and quick enough access to a decent blow dry.

I actually really enjoyed my experience at CBDB(that’s how it showed up on my statement and I was like wha whatsthat lol oh oh yeah!) I did say that the complementary champagne was an automatic 5 stars haha… but besides that, everyone that worked there was so friendly, and most importantly MYHAIRTURNEDOUTAWESOME! My curls lasted till the next day(they were flatter obv after sleeping on it but still looked like a wavy awesome the next day) I have a red ombré(like REDRED) which just the nature of the color, the color fades pretty easily after a couple washes. So I opted for the dry styling with Paris. She did the beachy wave look on it and it looked awesome. I would return, maybe even consider one of the monthly memberships. My work schedule doesn’t allow for it to make it worth it right now,(they open at 7am which is nice but not for teachers lol) but maybe over the summer.

I went on the day after opening day for one of their complimentary blow outs. The place is clean and modern. You get checked in at the front desk, offered complimentary champagne or water, and have a seat in the small lounge area. You get taken to your station and introduced to your stylist. They show you a book that offers 8 – 10 styles you can choose from, including two up-dos. You choose, then they rinse your hair down. My stylist recommended loose waves since I have fine hair and asked if I wanted a lot of volume. I said yes! As much as possible! Please! So I’m not entirely sure why my stylist plastered my roots to my head and then gave me waves. I had no volume to my roots whatsoever and it totally bummed me out. The curls were pretty but they last one hour and started to fall flat, and within three hours they were completely done. :( I have fine hair so I was hoping that the stylist would know not to use a ton of product in it(weighs it down) but she used everything possible. Root lift, texturizing, and two other things. Way too much. Just a note for those stylists out there that may be reading this! I thought the salon manager was super nice as was my stylist and I felt comfortable the entire time I was there. I’d like to go back but $ 40/blow dry is kinda steep, especially if I’m not getting volume or lasting style. Maybe I’ll come here for special occasions but that’s about it. Three stars for no volume + spendy price tag but the people and salon make the 3 almost a four.
