My Hoa Kaas, DPM FACFAS

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Kaas. The office is clean and well run, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the wait times are completely reasonable. Dr. Kaas is professional, warm, and very clear in explaining any tests, procedures, and results.
I’ve seen her for some time and bring my children to her as well (we have a family of flat-​footed folks). Beyond that, I’ve had a recent injury which included a sprained ankle that was slow to heal. Dr. Kaas immediately suspected something deeper and asked to see the MRI images I had had earlier. She caught a torn ligament that the radiologist missed. A better brace and a better direction in PT is finally bringing that ankle around. While surgery may be an eventual option, she’s comfortable with more conservative treatment first.

A caring and compassionate doctor who actually listens to your concerns, addresses the issue of pain and offers almost immediate relief, and explains long term options. Her staff is pleasant and understanding, always willing to accomodate last minute issues. In this day and age of being a number, Dr. Kaas and her staff make you feel like you’re their primary patient. I sent my sister and son to see her. She is really that good!

I went to see Dr. Kaas after suffering with foot pain that had been mis-​diagnosed by my family doctor. I selected Dr. Kaas after reading positive reviews of the Foot and Ankle Center on Unilocal and I am very grateful to have found her. She is personable, knowledgeable, and overall an excellent doctor. The office is efficiently run with very little wait time and friendly staff. Appointments are pretty easy to schedule and they always call a day or two before to confirm upcoming appointments. Overall, I have been very pleased with the treatment I have received and won’t hesitate in the future to see specialist rather than a family doctor for foot and ankle related injury and pain.

After breaking my foot in August, the doctor I was seeing wasn’t helping me at all. After 5 months of frustration, I did some research and booked an appointment with Dr. Kaas.
I’m so glad I did! I seem to have bad luck with doctors but Dr. Kaas has honestly helped me with my pain and always has something positive to say. She listens to my concerns and her bedside manner is excellent. I wish she could be my primary because she’s the only doctor I actually like!
I’ve never had any issues, I’ve waited about 5 minutes or less in the waiting room, and I’ve never had any problems with fees (as mentioned in other reviews). As for the staff at Virginia Foot & Ankle– Jessica and Anne always remember who I am and are personable and caring (which is a plus for me!).

I’ve seen this doc twice and have always come away knowing she listened to me, helped me with my pain IMMEDIATELY, and had good, common-​sense recommendations for a fix to my pronating left foot. And folks at the reception desk always make me feel welcomed and comfortable. What else can you ask for?

Horrible — Jessica the receptionist is young, rude and arrogant. Her interpersonal skills are extremely lacking and she acts as if she is doing the patient a favor by speaking. to them — she barely looked up and never got off the personal call she was on when I entered the office. Dr. Kaas is pleasant, however, she is a foot doctor and she didn’t touch my feet. She spent all of 5 minutes with me, gave me a prescription for a liver damaging drug, charged my insurance 250.00 for the visit and advised that I also buy an over the counter topical ointment from her office for an additional 20.00. Later, when I called back regarding a billing question — I had the same awful experience with Receptionist Jessica again. I recommend going to another Podiatrist if in need. I’ve gone to another woman doctor and had a great experience and was treated well and with dignity.

Ask about the fees upfront.

From the moment you step into the office, it is like visiting an old friend. Jessica and Anne are phenomenal. They are both very personable and attentive. Dr. Kaas had to do emergency surgery (sorta) schedule the same week, because of an Achilles tear and ruptured tendon. I went in to shock and denial, but the staff took care of everything. The surgery went so well that a close friend was scheduled for surgery at Duke Medical Center for an ankle fusion; but after speaking with Dr. Kaas, changed his mind and had his surgery done by her. I will try not to write a novel, but this Center deserves it.
After surgery with Dr. Kaas, my friend noticed bleeding. I immediately called the after hours number and Dr. Ryan (on call) immediately returned the call. It was like talking to a friend. He gave us instructions on what to do and everything went well.
Well my friend and I are both in colorful cast and waiting for our next visit.
If you want the best of the best please try this Center. Dr Kaas’ thoroughness and confidence is so comforting, you know you are in the right hands.

After reading that woman doctors receive on the average 20% less salary than men, I decided to support them whenever I can so when I was having a foot problem, I found Dr. Kaas on Unilocal!

Today was my first visit with her, and as far as I can tell, she is top notch. I have had an issue with my foot for nearly two years that another dr termed as a stress fracture and kept saying «come see me in 3 months if it doesn’t feel better”– finally I said enough of that doctor and came to see Dr. Kaas. I wish I had seen her from the beginning. She is extremely nice, and knew right away what she thinks is the issue (tests pending). Will continue to see her because she does her job as a doctor– diagnosing and getting things done instead of waiting to see (and hoping) if it just goes away. I was almost an hour early for my appointment, and they took me right away. I was so glad to not have to wait an hour after my appointment to be seen like most other offices in the area.

She is the best doctor in Fairfax. I have flat feet and plantar facilities. She always knows where to place the shot. My feet have never felt better.

She is such a sweet doctor! Very thorough with treatment and good bedside manner. Staff is helpful and efficient. Easy to get appointments and short wait time to be seen.

I went to her because I was impressed with her website which is very comprehensive. Ok, I just saw her today so clinically, I don’t know how good she is. Good experience. I came in 30 mins before my appt. Her tech took xrays as soon as she was done typing in the forms they had me fill out. I was seated in a room and soon after, Dr. Kaas came in. The whole thing… registering, filling out forms, x-​rays, consult, co-​pay in less than an hour… I think that’s pretty darn good for a first patient visit.
