Jennings Beach

Perfect little beach in CT.
I am from Long Island, so it’s hard to beat those beaches, but this place is great.
I go there to study, relax and eat lunch on my days off from class!
Perfect little beach to hangout on and spend the last warm days of summer!

Don’t go to this beach and pay $ 20.00 or even $ 50.00 during weekends when the free beach down the street is cleaner. I wanted a nice day on the beach with my daughter and granddaughter and was willing to pay. Their website states that it is a clean beach with a nice playground. NOT!
This is what I found: There were beer bottles and cans as well as cigarette packages both old and new scattered around the playground. It was not toddler friendly and the slides were made of metal (too hot to slide on). Then off to the beach… food wrappers floating in the water, old foam cooler pieces along the edge of the shore, etc. Simply unpleasant and dirty. We left.

Beautiful beach that is located in Downtown Fairfield. There are tables and grills for you to take advantage of. I have only been off season so I am not sure how busy it gets? The in-​season summer prices seem really steep at $ 20 on a weekday and $ 50 for the weekend. Cell phone service is a bit spotty in the area. Also check out Penfield Beach which is a 5 minute drive from Jennings. This beach has a huge lot compared to Penfield Beach.

Used to be the best beach around until they decided not to fix up pennfield beach and all the obnoxious (insert expletive here) people who used to go there came to Jennings. I have never seen or heard such loud, rude, horrible excuses for human beings in my entire life. They sit on top of you on an otherwise empty beach with their loud obnoxious children which they refuse to discipline AT ALL… and then they spray an entire bottle of spray sunscreen on their children so close to you, that you have to breath in all those chemicals. It’s so bad I can taste it. And they are so loud you can hear them a mile away, because they WANT everyone to hear them talk about how much they paid for everything they own. Seriously? Have a LITTLE consideration for each other. Just a LITTLE! … And they ignore their children all together. THEY RUINED OUR OTHERWISE NICE QUIET FRIENDLY BEACH! Thanks a lot!

This was my first time here today, ad the drive wasn’t bad at all. I live about an hour and a half away. I got there around 10:30AM on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t that crowded at all. The beach is beautiful, there’s a great view, the water wasn’t too cold or that uncomfortable warm water. The beach wasn’t to rocky, only when you got closer to the water, but it might be different farther up the beach. I was at the end of the beach. Overall a really nice place to go for a day trip. Beautiful. I had so much fun.
