It makes me hungry writing this. This my local Korean food fix. It doesn’t have the grills, but it has the flavors spot on and price is moderate. The atmosphere is quiet and location is downtown though parking can suck sometimes. The selection of menu is good and service is quick and friendly. We shall be visiting again and again. The owners are very sweet and accommodating even when I came a tad late to pick up my order after they closed. You can trust my food reviews because as picky and as a home chef myself(LOL) — it takes a lot to impress my taste buds. This hits the mark as local spot. They’ve never disappointed me EXCEPT they are closed one day of the week(which day I forget), but yummy for sure!

Pretty good. My wife had the seafood tofu stew, me the spicy squid with vegetables along with an order of bone in kalbi. Nothing really wowed us and of course when your barbecue is not done at the table then the flavor is not exceptional. Food is more café style than quality restaurant.

I’ve been to this place a handful of times and I absolutely love their bulgogi! The side dishes are really good too!

Our first time here and definitely not our last. We were greeted with a genuine smile and prompt service. Our server, Cassidy, was super friendly(and funny), he was also very attentive and offered my husband a fork and knife when he saw him struggling with his chopsticks. Enjoyed all the dishes we ordered… my daughter had the bbq chicken over rice, my husband grilled bbq korean ribs and of course I had the Bul gogi. Wasn”t a very long wait for our food and everything was full of flavor and the prices were very reasonable especially for the portions you get. We will definitely make this one of our favorite«go to «places.

My first visit at this place was interesting. It’s hard to find when you’re going down a busy street especially downtown Fairfield but you can’t help but smell the goodness of Korean bbq when you find it! I loved the mini bowls that come w/small appetizers. It usually fills you up fast before you get your meal. Everything served here is fresh. Definitely am a returning customer.

Our go to spot when the man and I are craving some food of his nature. This is a restaurant that looks a bit small but still spacious enough to seat a well amount of people. Service here is attentive and usually easy, fulfills special requests(to exclude fish cakes from rice cakes!). Food here is delicious. Whenever I visit, I have to have the rice cakes how my guy knows how to order: extra spicy, refraining fish cakes,(please). Try it! It’s the b o m b diggity. Warning: May be a little spicy, but not too much. Bulgogi here is also delicious. Who doesn’t like bulgogi?!(Unless you’ve never had it, now you have to.) It’s always my go to dish as well. Try this place out if you never have! They’ll have you coming back! Good thing they have a stamp card!

I ordered the bi bim bap and beef bulgogi/chicken combo to go. I was told it will take 15 minutes. I was like ok fine, I’ll just wait and browse on my phone. Except that there was no signal for my phone. So browsing the internet seemed to be out of the question. The guy that helped me with my order came up to me and told me that there is Free Wifi. This place is cool since most small businesses dont offer wifi especially at restaurants. The food was really good. Probably the best korean food you’ll find around the area. The staff are nice and accomodating. I dont travel much to this part of town, but anytime I’m craving korean food. This will be the place I will go to.

What goes up, must come down. My last couple visits have been less than stellar. The food is still high quality and the flavor is delicious. Unfortunately, I feel as though I’m being skimped. The side dishes are said to be endless. After two rounds of rather small sides, they’ve allegedly ran out in the kitchen. The first time that happened it was unfortunate, but on the second visit the same story as to why there was no more servings left… I can’t justify $ 20.00 for a small serving of meat and a shady story about why I’m being shortchanged on my kimchi. For that reason… I’m out

The Best Korean restaurant in Fairfield! We came on Friday for lunch — the place was cozy, music wasn’t too loud, and very friendly servers greeted us. They have lunch menu available — includes variety types of Korean food in much smaller portion. I ended up eating Yuk Gae Jang, shredded beef and vegetables in spicy broth. Such a great dish for cold rainy days! Plus their side dishes are just exquisite. Lots of healthy variety and good vegetarian options too. I’d definitely will come back. Also Korean beer is also a plus. Mmhmm

It’s my third time here, and I’m still very much satisfied. Everything I’ve tasted has been fantastic. Their side dishes are scrumptious. My brother, who’s for the most part a picky eater, asks for second helpings of their kimchi. As for the main dishes, I’ve tried the ddukbokki, kalbi, soon tofu & kalbi tang. I feel full and content after. If I could afford to eat here everyday, I would. It seems to be a hidden gem even when it’s right in downtown Fairfield. They also have a punch card for every time you eat although I keep forgetting mine, but there’s always next time.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. We started with the pot stickers and the seafood and green onion pancake. The pancake was delicious. The pot stickers were far better than the ones usually served in Chinese restaurants. The were filled with vegetables, browned on all sides and served with a really good spicy dipping sauce. I could have made a meal of just these. My husband had the kalbi for his main course. They were well-spiced, lean and tender.(He liked them so much he ordered a second batch to take home!) I had the kimchi stew. It was spicy and just the thing on a cold winter day. Our server was friendly, attentive and courteous. The food was very reasonably priced. We only wish they would open a branch in Napa!

Family owned, family friendly and amazing food. Restaurants nowadays have gotten so big that they’ve lost that personal touch. Not this place! And the lunch specials are incredibly reasonable, and huge. A must try.

Even with the 4.5 star rating, I went into Koong Jyun with low expectations. After all, this is Fairfield. I also have a close friendship with a Korean family on the East Coast who cooked for me all the time before moving here 2 months ago. So I am really snobby about Korean cuisine, to be truthful… I was so very pleasantly surprised! As the Hubs and I walked in there was a large Korean family in the front of the dining room(a very good sign the food would be authentic). We were greeted and seated promptly by a very friendly waiter. We looked over their full menu, I ordered the bul gogi, and the Hubs ordered the shrimp hot pot. We were served salad and cold glass noodles to start. The cold noodles were amazing, and I could have eaten my weight in those! The ubiquitous assortment of side dishes came out, and then our main dishes arrived. The bul gogi was so good. The meat was the most tender I’ve ever had in said dish. It was so perfect, that I’m glad the portion was not bigger, because I would have eaten until I was miserable; it was that good! The Hubs hot pot was in a class of spicy, hot excellence all its own. It was sizzling hot, and super spicy, but also flavorful. He did eat until he was miserable(and still had leftovers)! All the little side dishes of kimchees and veggies were as yummy as the main courses. The kimchee daikon was the star of the show. If you like daikon, you’ll love Koong Jyun’s daikon! Koong Jyun will be seeing my family and I again and often! Delicious!!!

Very pleased with my lunch! :-) Ordered the Bim Bim Bop beef lunch special. After a long and exhausting meeting in the morning, it was such a treat to have good food for lunch. Place is clean, service is fast and food is yummy! :-)

Apparently, my brother’s been here before… After a nice day date in Fairfield, we decided to head over to Texas street to find a dinner place. I picked Korean since all the Korean restaurants are on the opposite side of town. We ordered a small seafood pancake to start, the fiancé ordered bugogi with rice and I ordered kimchi tofu soup with rice cakes. It was so filling and delicious. We ended up bringing our leftover tofu soup home. The wait staff aka Chris(also originally from SF) was so attentive and helpful. We would love to visit again if we’re around the area!

Our first time here and most definitely not our last. Server was nice and prompt. He was attentive to the refills of our drink and side dishes. We ordered the Bul Go Gi and the Chicken Teriyaki. Both were generous portions. It came with 7 side dishes and rice. This place didn’t disappoint! We’ll be back for more!

After passing here so many times we finally made it here for dinner! The place was pretty spacious and clean. It wasn’t too busy. The menu contained the usual Korean items you see at your typical Korean restaurant. The hubby and daughter ordered kalbi and bulgogi(which they both enjoyed but wished they got more of portion wise), I got kalbi tang(soup). While we waited for our food, which we didn’t have to wait long for, the waitress brought over about 8 different ban chans. Our favorite was the kimchi fish cake, pickled daikon and kimchi. My soup was unexpected but very delicious. I say unexpected because for me when I think of Korean soups I think spicy. The kalbi tang was flavorful and fulfilling. Anyway, we’ll definitely will be back. Shame on us for not coming here sooner.

First of all, this place was hard to find(google maps kept telling me to go the wrong way!), but once I found the place, I was in awe of such a welcoming, beautifully decorated restaurant! Although there weren’t any people dining when I got there, you could tell that it was clean and they took pride in their restaurant! I ordered five different dishes to take home to go and they packed everything separately(which I truly appreciated!) and the food was soooooo good! I had the bulgogi so tender and full of flavor! I would definitely come back just for the bulgogi!!! The only reason I had to take away star was because I was taken aback at the high prices! Every dish cost between $ 15 and $ 25, which is definitely what I’m used to when going out to dinner! Considering how much food you get, I guess it’s worth it. Overall, the service, décor and food were amazing!
