Grand China Buffet & Grill

My girlfriend and I ate at Grand China Buffet and Grill last night. Traveling from Morgantown (which is seriously lacking in good chinese places), we thought maybe we could find something better in Fairmont.
We were greeted and seated right away. I went up to the buffet to get my usual fare; chicken and broccoli, rice, teriyaki chicken, crab wontons, etc. After three plates if different things, I could not find something decent enough to eat more than one or two bites of. The food was horrible.
Now, on the other hand; the service is EXCELLENT. I’ve been to many chinese buffets in my lifetime and for me, they’re notorious for having rude waiters/​waitresses. Our waitress was kind and pleasant. Our drinks were constantly being refilled and our plates were taken away as soon as they were pushed to the side. As far as chinese restaurants, this is the absolute best service I’ve ever received.
But, all in all; good food is what brings people back. Good service is important too. But, for me (and probably everyone else), I go to a restaurant for food. Not for service. Therefore, I will continue my search for a decent chinese restaurant in the Morgantown area.

Huge buffet and lots of choices. The food is good and the place is clean. We are always seated right away, whenever we go. The bathrooms could use a little attention though… there’s always so many air freshener things in there that it literally makes me feel sick just by the smell.

I was not impressed at all by this buffet. When we got there, it took a while for the staff to greet us and take us to our seats. Then, all I really wanted was chicken and broccoli but there was none in the tray. I asked 3 different employees if more was coming out and I was ignored each time. It took about 15 minutes before they brought out more and by that time I just gave up and settled for something else.
Another thing I didn’t like was the employees touching the tongs with their bare hands. I’m not a hygiene freak but please, use gloves before touching utensils that I have pick up my food with!
Other then that, the chicken teriyaki and broccoli was really good but that’s all I would honestly recommend. The food didn’t taste as fresh as it should of. Tasted like it’s been sitting out all day.
I’ll go back to give it a second chance but not anytime soon. I was pretty turned off.

The largest Chinese buffet I have ever seen! Polite staff, fresh food, price is reasonable. I went for lunch and was over stuffed but would be great for dinner. Clean buffet and restaurant too! Highly recommend! I was traveling through the area for work.

Good, cheap, and huge selection! I like it! Open on Christmas Day, and crowded, but I got a table right away. Chinese and American favorites, including turkey, ham, mashed potatoes & gravy, salad, deviled eggs, etc.

Not sure what others are comparing it to, definitely not 5 star fine dining but compared to other chinese buffets, and I travel, it is 5 star. There are at least eight bars of foods and a mongolian made-​to-​order station, ice cream bar and a sushi bar, something for everyone. The food has always been wonderful. The service top notch. Prices can’t be beat. It is huge so there has never been a wait. I love the mongolian bar w/​extra hot and spicy sauce. Just Awesome. Get a punch card for buy nine meals get one free.

The food was not very fresh and got cold quickly. Taste was mediocre, but the selection was huge. Definitely a quantity over quality place. If you are looking for a cheap and quick place, go here. Only thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the wonton soup and potstickers, but they were probably from a bag. I’d rather drive to Morgantown and go to No. 1 Super Buffet than go back to this place.

Great place if your really hungry

I love their food! The owners are great people, the staff is nice and I enjoy talking to them every time I go in. They have a great selection and they deliver steaming hot food when it is ordered for take-​out. I try to visit this place at least twice a month.
