Delicious Italian food. I got the taste of Italy, and the lasagna had to be my favorite.

Hands down my favorite Italian restaurant. I have been coming to Muriale’s for years, and it never disappoints. Some of my personal favorites are their house salad, gnocchi and their meatballs. Their portions are large, and they have gluten free options!

Note: the«Get Directions» button takes you to the wrong address, copy-paste the correct address(1742 Fairmont Ave, Fairmont, WV26554) from the listing. The service was consistent and friendly. The food was great. The meatballs in my pasta were tender and juicy and the salad tasted great. All the other reviews are pretty accurate.

Service was awesome! Staff was crazy friendly throughout. Meals of spicy sausage rigatoni and chicken Parmesan were good, though not amazing. Dessert was okay, would’ve given only 3 stars, but extra star for the outstanding service.

I had the house salad and the Minnestrone soup. The house salad was«da bomb». It had pickled red onions and also some pickled peppers. The house italian dressing is also very good. Minnestrone soup was spicy. I loved the spiciness. I was expecting just vegetables but this had some pasta pieces, vegies and even some pieces of sausage(and maybe meatball pieces ?). It was a winner. Others in our party had the chicken parmigian and I tasted that. It was OK. For me, too much cheese. I didn’t get to try the pasta and sauce. My husband gave it a thumbs down.

This place isn’t good. We tried it twice thinking maybe we missed something the first time. That being said, the bar is pretty low in this area as far as Italian food goes. The meatballs have little flavor. I’ve had better sauce out of a jar. The only thing that I would recommend is the canoli, which is excellent.

Excellent service and the food was great. Had the veal parm and it was tender and a very generous portion. Hubby had shrimp Diablo and really enjoyed it. Side salads were generous with lots of nice toppings. You won’t be sorry if you dine here

There are three things that make a great restaurant. First, the menu should be affordable, uncluttered, and should have a consistent culinary point of view. Next, the food should be fresh, full of flavor, prepared and presented well. Finally, the environment should be comfortable and inviting, with friendly service that is attentive without being intrusive. Muriale’s is a great restaurant. This is old school traditional Southern Italian food at it’s very best, served in a restaurant that feels like coming home. The walls are lined with Muriale family photos, paintings and other memorabilia. There is booth seating, but the majority of the tables are like your kitchen table at home. There is seldom a wait except on holidays and weekends, and it’s usually not too long if you do have to wait. If you’ve been there a few times, someone usually recognizes you; one of the managers(I believe it’s Rocco’s daughter) always remembers my 11 year old son and asks him if he’s ready to get to work(he wants to be a chef). The wait staff is uniformly excellent; in all the time I have been going there, I have never had reason to complain even once about the service I was given. Every request we’ve ever made has been accommodated, every meal was served in a reasonable time, and my water glass was never empty. The food is superlative. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor; just order a regular, pedestrian old plate of spaghetti. It’s that good. You’ll get a healthy plate of spaghetti with two delicious meatballs, covered with the best meat sauce you will ever have. It really is the Muriale family’s recipe, as clichéd as that sounds, and it is so good it ruins every other meat sauce for you once you’ve tried it. This should be, and would be anywhere else, a twenty dollar plate of pasta, but it’s twelve bucks. With a fantastic salad and fresh, crusty Italian bread. There really isn’t a bad dish on the menu. The lasagna is enough for two, the ravioli are great, the manicotti is really quite good, and the gnocchi is excellent. If you want an appetizer, get the bruchetta. It’s very traditionally done, with balsamic vinegar, kalamata olives, and garlic-infused olive oil, which complements the sweet cherry tomatoes on top of the crusty cheese-covered bread. We usually get this for our family of four, and it never fails to start dinner off right.

This is an excellent restaurant. I don’t believe I can say anything that hasn’t already been said. I can say we were seated at the bar and the bartender John was extremely attentive and made our visit that much better. This will definitely be our go to Italian restaurant here in WV.

As a visiting vegan, I find it hard to go out to eat in Fairmont, but after a little research I gave Murials a try. The staff was the most helpful I’ve come across in a long time, and my server and the manager were more than willing to check ingredients and make recommendations. Just based on this, I give it five starts. Most of their pastas are egg free, as is their table bread. All in all, I left full.

This place is absolutely fantastic! Thank you fellow Unilocalers for the tip. We were seated and meet Bailey our server. What a pleasure to deal with and gave exceptional service. And the food! Oh man the food! Huge portions of awesome food for a very reasonable price. Even the manager Mindy came by to say hello as she heard it was our first time there. I would most definitely recommend a try!

My favorite is the steak hoagie platter. Unfortunately that platter is an additional $ 8 to the price of the hoagie. Eight dollars for French fries and a side salad. Eight dollars. The hoagie by itself is around 8 dollars, so with a coke to drink your lunch is going to cost you 20 bucks. As much as I like fries with my sandwich, I can’t bring myself to be extorted for the pleasure. Thankfully Colosessano’s up the street has an excellent hoagie selection that comes with fries and a salad that didn’t require a second mortgage.

I went here today for the first time after hearing everyone raving about it. The décor is very friendly and warm, as is the atmosphere. At three o clock, there was barely anyone in there. All of the waiters and waitress we passed were polite, saying hi and acknowledging us. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door. I do have to say I was not very impressed with the menu(the printed one). I am not much of a meat or marinara girl, so when I saw they didn’t have alfredo, I was really bummed out. Much to my suprise, the wonderful waitress we had informed us that there were many options that weren’t on the menu– alfredo being one of them! If you don’t see your favourite sauce, they probably have it, don’t be too shy to ask. For my entrée, I went with gnocchi in alfredo sauce which came with a salad(I opted for Caesar) and bread. The bread was thinly sliced and warm. It had a great flavor and I may have eaten the whole basket on my own. The salad came out and it was alright. The croutons were minute, the dressing was on the heavier side, and the romaine was room temperature. The gnocchi was the most interesting. The alfredo sauce was delicious, not the bland stuff from olive garden. It had a subtle citrus flavour that I really loved that made the sauce nice and light tasting. The gnocchi itself was kind of dense and heavy, but tasty nonetheless. After our meal was finished, our waitress brought out the dessert platter. Seeing a delicious looking lemon and blueberry cake with a mascarpone filling bent my willpower and I got a slice. It was wonderful. Light, flavorful, delicious. The cake was moist, the mascarpone was done beautifully, and I was not disappointed. The prices are pretty steep. That’s a big downside. It was about 20 $ a person for a pasta dish entrée. I will definitely be returning.

We had our wedding party’s rehearsal dinner here — in 1987! The place was great then and it still is one of my all-time favorites. The serving staff — usually local college students — bust their ass to make things right 100% This place is an old-time classic Italian joint. Enjoy it!

Solid place to go for good Italian cooking. I had a combo plate of lasagna and gnocchi. Loved then both and there was a very generous helping so I got to enjoy it again the next day for lunch. Also, the décor is warm and inviting. Beautiful wood beams across the ceiling, faux stucco wall paint, and Italian theme artwork. Great place to bring family. Staff are very attentive and try to anticipate your needs. I highly recommend it.

So I judge every Italian restaurant by their marinara sauce. Don’t hand me a sweet based marinara. Muriale’s nails it. On the salty side and a tad greasy just the way I like it. I love the house salad that comes with the entrees. So tasty with house dressing and touches of pepperoni, roasted red peppers, and pickled onion. For dinner we rarely stray from our favorites: lasagna and meatball casserole. Hands down our favorite Italian restaurant! Too bad we don’t live closer to it.

I have lived in Las Vegas for 3 years, but am a WV ex-pat. I have access to some of the finest Italian chefs in the country, the freshest ingredients, yadda yadda yadda. I say this to preface my next statement: Muriale’s is the best Italian food I have ever had. We plan our trips back to WV so that we are driving thru Fairmont for lunch or dinner. The quality of the food, the freshness, the service… consistently exceeds expectations. Our experience today was no exception. Since my last visit in May 2013, I have fixated on Aunt Mary’s Lasagna. If I had to choose a last meal, that would be it. I met some friends for dinner, we were seated promptly, offered drinks, appetizers, etc. we ordered and almost immediately received our salads — have the house dressing! Next our meals came quickly, as soon as our empty salad plates were collected. I had lasagna, with a meatball on the side, and some hot Oliverio peppers — because like Muriale’s lasagna, Oliverio peppers have no equivalent. Go with a game plan, the lasagna serving is hefty and the dessert tray is impressive. With this in mind, I left half my lasagna and had dessert –cannoli(order of 2) and I took one of those to go also. The chocolate cake and pb pie are also good choices. Basically, if they brought you out paper with whipped cream, it would be delicious. I left with a full belly, a doggie bag«for lunch tomorrow»(aka later tonight), and something to dream about until my next trip to the Mountain State.
