One of our regular haunts. The food is seriously amazing. The burgers are top notch, the hot mess special when they have it is awesome. I love love LOVE the fresh seasonal lemonade. The BBQ is solid, and the rotating game burgers are my kids favorite thing. Always something fun and different to try. Make sure to get extra pickles, because they are bomb! The place is often crowded, so ALWAYS call for a reservation.

I recommend this unique place to eat. Everyone in our party was thoroughly satisfied with their dinner. I had the rib sampler and it was a large ammount of food and it was good. We also had the mac n cheese fritters that were awsome. The onion rings and waffle fries are great too. My wife had the pb&j burger and she said it was awsome. Small unique place worth a drive to try it out.

Delicious food, fun atmosphere and great service. Be sure and check their hours and make a reservation. The dining room is small and the food is so good that they are always busy!

Wow, seriously wow. I’ll begin by stating that meats and sweets are my comfort foods. Secondly, I’ll state that good service is primary for a relaxing meal. Check, and check: this place has all the comfort of my living room and includes some eye candy(some really funny eye candy too). I was so impressed when Jennifer suggested that I get a half order of the sweet potato fries with honey/maple drizzle because as a first timer I couldn’t gauge the volume of the Texas Longhorn Burger and house salad. As a former table waiter, the up-sell was the point for the profit margin. Eh, profit seems like an afterthought at Oink and Moo. She was absolutely correct. Although I was full half way through the burger, I couldn’t stop eating it. Seriously: a cow and pig were both represented on that bun, with a phenomenal taste. It was amazing and really flavorful. Also, the greens were really fresh for the salad, and their addition of cranberries and parmesan was like a salad extravaganza of taste. I’m a farmer, and watched another local farmer bring in some peaches which looked completely beautiful. They buy locally: that speaks volumes. Oink and Moo also were so proud to serve such incredible specimens of the peach family. Too bad I had no room for dessert. I was completely impressed with how active the staff was to help my meal along while I ate. Bravo. Their service, although they were busy, lacked no detail. Extremely personable; responsible; left no customer behind. That is an accomplishment. I’ll repeat: busy on a Wednesday evening between 5 and 6:30 P.M. I heard repeat customers being called by name. That is an accomplishment for any restauranteur. Also, to hear how many people in the hour and fifteen minutes I was there were repeat customers: that says volumes. I thought that a local BBQ spot in Fallbrook would be just a hole in the wall. I was completely wrong. There is a consciousness about the owners’ idea of a restaurant and their concept of community which is so comforting. I will return to this establishment for another round of comfort and community. The food is fantastic too!

Amazing. We used to live right down the street and would order take out from here all the time. Now we live in Oceanside and still make the drive. It’s all about the fringes for me. Delicious onion rings and waffle fries and their homemade ranch is soooooo good. Tonight my husband ordered the rib eye burger and he could not stop saying that it was the best burger he has ever had after every bite. Just love this little place. Definitely my favorite spot in town!

I guess I’m in the minority, but I don’t get all the rave reviews. Very mediocre BBQ in my opinion. I ordered a ½ rack of spare ribs and was served only a four bone portion. I’ve cooked lots of ribs and they usually have 11 to 13 ribs, so how is four a ½ rack? Sides were equally mediocre. Tater tots that tasted like and were probably straight from the freezer. Cold mac and cheese! Cole slaw needs improvement also. I did like the honey biscuit, but that is not enough for me to want to return. Owners seem to like attacking people who write negative reviews. l just read the previous attacks that seem pretty much the same so no need to respond to this review. Not everybody will like your food so don’t take it so personally.

You will be glad you tried this place out as I did. I left this place with happy taste buds and a full tummy. I tried the lettuce wrap as recommended by my server and it was great! I also had the Oink a doodle burger which had an egg, bacon, and fries on it. It was very good. Try this place out.

Was a bit surprised on where this place was located no wait and it was on a Sunday so that was good i had the baby back ribs which i loved the sauce was so tasty meat fell right off the rib. I wasn’t a big fan of the biscuit that came with it. It had syrup and was way to hard to bite into. Also they had the lemonade special which was strawberry i had two refills it was delicious. Husband had got the oink burger surprisingly he got full off that he enjoyed it but what blown us away was the truffle fries! I loved the dipping sauce which was like some garlicky flavor. Service overall was great only thing i had to hush away was the flies a few tried landing on my food but the flies didn’t have a chance.

This place is a hidden gem. Great little spot in the middle of nowhere, pops out immediately with its unique décor & atmosphere. Even the bathroom is decorated in southern but funky/cool décor! Food was delicious~ our 10 year old daughter got a burger off the kids’ menu(only $ 5.99& the kids get a pig nose to wear haha). We got the Mac&Cheese fritters appetizer(4 large mac n cheese balls wrapped in bacon & deep fried, YUM), & my husband & I split the pulled pork meal that comes with a huge honey butter roll, coleslaw & a small side. BBQ sauce had great flavor, pork was perfectly tender. We all left fat & happy for just under $ 30(before tip). Service was great, staff was quick & friendly.

Oink and Moo deserves all of these stars– make a reservation because I’m not the only person who feels this way. If you’re vegetarian, probably don’t bother. Omnivores though, you’re all set here. Gluten-free options abound and the service is attentive. Their dessert menu always sounds delicious but I’ve never had room! Again, if you don’t make a reservation, expect to wait because this is a popular place with great atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I went to here for date night last weekend. I actually wasn’t too excited to go here because I already have a favorite BBQ place, but Oink N Moo blew me out of the water!!! This is by far the best BBQ in San Diego. My boyfriend had the brisket which melted in the mouth and I had a sandwich which had pulled pork and brisket on it which was unbelievable. I can’t forget the poutine(I think they call it the hot mess, fries with gravy, cheese and pulled pork) and the biscuits. I could eat those two things everyday if my body would allow me. The service was unbelievable, you could tell this is a family run establishment. The wife was our waitress, the chef was the husband and the entire staff truly seemed like they loved to work there. Honestly I couldn’t have had a better experience. I will absolutely be back

We called ahead tonight, had a beer at FBC and walked up the hill for dinner. Best choice ever. We split two burgers and an appetizer. The blue cheese burger was delicious and oh so savory. The duck burger special tonight was so flavorful I couldn’t even finish it– I was stuffed! My husband polished it off for me. Along with the Hot Mess appetizer. Easily best burgers in town. Which is awesome— to patron a place where the employees and employer all genuinely care about the food and customer service. P. S. Ana is definitely an awesome waitress. Great recommendations and super helpful. :)

I agree with all of the other reviews, this is well worth the long drive to Fallbrook! We came here for my sons birthday and they really went all out with fantastic service and unforgettable food! We were in a bit of a rush and let them know, they were great about it and brought everything in a flash! The made in house veggie burger is one of the best I have ever had, crispy and full of nuts and grains, loved it! The fries, onion rings and tots, all amazing and worth getting. Pulled pork, brisket and burgers, perfection, so is their warm bbq sauce. Rounded it off with molten chocolate brownie, it was truly a perfect meal from start to finish and worth every penny, calorie and minute driving here! Well deserved 5 stars, I hope they continue to be this successful, they really know what they are doing here, good BBQ is hard to find and we have found it all the way out in Fallbrook!

Came here with the in laws(visiting from out of state)… Started with the bacon wrapped macaroni fritters as an appetizer… Delish! Then I went full on «hungry girl» and got the ribs sampler. Don’t judge… The baby back ribs are freaking MONEY! The beans(side) are smoky, yummy and have a flare of sweet… Get them… Or force someone else to do you can taste them! My hubby got the 3 meat sampler and LOVED the brisket and ribs. Good beers, GREAT music, amazing ambiance, and KICK @ss food! Go here if you get a chance. The owner came by and she is sweet, then the chef and other owner(her husband) came by… Where the hell does that happen!!! VEERVERYFAR from mainstream chains… Get the real deal here! This place should be on #tripled I know what I’m having in the morning!

Our first trip to Oink and Moo was great! We called ahead to see if we needed a reservation, they told us it was a little slow and to just head over. We started our meal with the Mac N Cheese Fritters. They came out nice and hot. Perfect combo of bacon with Mac N Cheese! Next up, Camel burger(for my boyfriend), BBQ chicken sandwich(for me), and waffle fries to share. All of which, pleased our pallets! Drinks: I had a berry lemonade, and then a Soju spiked berry lemonade. My boyfriend had a Stone Smoked Porter. Excellent for sure! Our waitress Anastacia was excellent! She tended to our needs and made sure we had a good time! The owners even came to check on us and see how we liked it! Overall great experience and we will be back! A little pricey but for good food we will pay!!!

Owners Jonathan and Jennifer came to each table and introduced themselves. Décor is great. Make sure that you do reserve as the place gets packed. This is also a dinner only place so dont come for lunch. I live in orange county and i would not mind driving to eat here. Enjoyed the food and service

So yes, super far away but it was so worth it! I would definitely come again if I’m in the area. What to get: Goat-a-licious Burger: Super juicy and one of the best burgers I’ve had in awhile. The patties are made fresh every day and the combination of goat cheese, apricot chutney, and balsamic was so on point. The crispiness of the bacon also added a touch of savory flavor and crunch. The whole thing was just a blast of flavors. Though it was also ridiculously messy so I tried to eat as quickly as possible to reduce the mess… though unsuccessfully. I got a side of waffle fries as well which came out piping hot and crispy. BBQ Platter: definitely get the pulled pork which is tender and tasty with a strong honey note. Some like the more natural tastes but I really appreciate it being well seasoned. The beef brisket was also tender and more neutral in taste. The portions are huge though so we definitely had food to bring home. Lettuce Wrap: Think… Asian fusion BBQ pulled pork. The pork is tender with some sweetness to it and is mixed(or cooked?) with nuts to give it a bit of crunch. On the side a sweet and sour sort of sauce is served to give it more of that«asian-y» feel to it all. The wraps were flavorful and refreshing. All the other burgers looked super good too so I would be really eager to try some others =D

Oink and Moo. Out of all the sounds in the animal alphabet, these are two that conjure up the best visualizations. Images of smoked, piquant, fall-apart ribs; seared, succulent steaks and burgers; and crisp, sizzling, come-hither bacon permeate your psyche. When this happens, not even a lengthy drive to the far northern reaches of the county can deter you. Being witness to the mini-barbecue renaissance in the area, we HADTO know if the«place named after animal sounds» measured up to other recently discovered BBQ favs(Thanks Unilocalers!). It’s an enjoyable, peaceful, avocado-farm-filled ride. Driving down Fallbrook’s Pico Ave, you can’t miss this offbeat, colorful, cottage-style house with wood and corrugated steel signs celebrating two of the best tasty-farm-animal sounds. Inside, the music loops through the oldies of the 80’s: «Come on feel the noise… girls rock your boys…». A quick glance around the room — no throwback mullets {thankfully} — it’s safe to enter. The crowd is a mix of weathered locals, hipster wanna-be’s, friends of «Bill», and a smattering of tourists. We sat in the patio/converted garage with our little doggy. The décor looks like a Gilligan and Skipper original design. If this is the look they were going for — I like it! Where else have you seen decorative hanging coping saws? I ordered the pulled pork that had started cooking 16 hours earlier. Wow. What great smoky flavor. Combined with the mildly tangy sauce, the result is a killer combination of smoky, sweet, moist, tangy and hot. This kind of BBQ comes only from passionate dedication and craft-work. Add an ice cold beer, crisp/hot/salty waffle fries, unapologetic bourbon baked beans, a fresh peach mason-jar dessert… and you have the makings for a perfect summer evening. The owner Jennifer A. was attentive. Like any good owner, she made sure we were happy and satisfied. She described the apple and cherry wood low-and-slow cooking process, and how everything including the sauce is made using locally sourced ingredients. In summary, everything grown, harvested, and cooked locally: «Ginger and Mary Ann style». #BBQRenaissance #FearTheMullet #AThreeHourTour

I’ve had Oink and Moo bookmarked for the longest time, but as most reviews have shown, this local spot gets super busy and usually has a long line of people waiting to dine in for their dinner-only hours. I may or may not have strategically waited for a less than normal time frame to make the drive out to this little Fallbrook ditty(ahem, thank you rain) and arrived to the delight of a wide open house of seats. Though humidity rose with the open deck, the lighting and charming décor made for an ambient space. After going over the menu and suggestions with my enthusiastic server(I was torn between trying a burger or going for the barbecue), I decided on their Peanut Butter & Jelly Burger. Everything on the burger menu looked like it was worth a try, but I was curious as to how their PBJB would turn out. I’ve only ever been satisfied with PBJ burgers at two locations in memory, and now I’m adding Oink & Moo to the list. The third pound patty and bun ratio was good, and both the peanut butter and jelly were portioned well(spread on generously but enough that it wasn’t overkill). Add to that the crispy bacon and juicy beef. The Truffle Fries were also good, but probably better paired with a more savory burger. Now, my stomach no longer has the iron it used to in my youth, so I had to box it up. I also decided this will most likely be my last time ordering a PBJB, so this place gets the honor of being the final restaurant to help me retire that feat. Along with the good food was excellent service. Efficient and attentive, and I was even offered advice on the best way to reheat the leftovers I took home. Oh, and I did get some huge! biscuits to take with me. They recommended making breakfast sandwiches out of them, though they are just fine with maple drizzle. Now that I’ve gotten the Moo taken care of, I’ll have to make a return for the Oink-y BBQ soon!
