I did not have a great experience. The plate was dominated by iceberg salad and generic white rice. The lamb kabobs were ok, but felt processed rather genuine. And it’s not cheap either. They gave me pita … But for what? There’s nothing to do with it. And they’re super stingy. You can have EITHER feta or cucumber sauce. But lord forbid you have both with your $ 13 kabob. At least they had quick service and fast internet.

Yum! Food is good, and potions are a nice size. Ordered the chicken kabob, grilled well and flavorful. Rice was really tasty and the salad was green(which is always nice to see instead of iceberg) but the salad had way to much dressing-to the point where it was just to acidic and burned my mouth a bit. So fair warning to those; if your not a dressing person or just like a little bit, then get the dressing on the side because they go overboard with the dressing. Too much! So will definitely order dressing on the side next time. Bread and yogurt sauce add a nice touch. Atmosphere is good, service is friendly. Nice place for a good meal, and will be back to try more dishes!

I frequent this place almost 5x per week. Staff here is friendly and very welcoming. I only do takeout, and have yet to eat inside the restaurant, however, everything is super clean and the atmosphere is inviting. Very happy Moby Dick chose this location!

Being a great fan of Persian food, I was sorely disappointed. The barreh(lamb) kabob was prepared with such tough, flavorless meat I can’t help but wonder if someone forgot to marinade the meat? My daughter’s grilled vegetables were cooked too fast; burned on the outside and raw on the inside. Even my hubby tossed half his gyro I the trash, it just didn’t impress. Perhaps if you’ve never had good Persian food you might think this is edible. I’d say these guys are trading on the stupidity of uninformed consumers and what a shame that is. Horrible meal, waste of money, time and food.

The restaurant is clean. I ate there and picked up several times. Ordered Kubideh, Chicken, Lamb, Beef Kabob at different times, Ordered Egg plant with meat, and Gormeh Subzi. All of them are deliciously made, fresh and has reasonable prices. Serving Size is good. People are polite. I hope they deliver and have more options like Polo with sweet cherry, or lentil, or Zerish.

Ok, so I am a dedicated moby’s fan but this experience left a lot to be desired. First of all… there were a bunch of men sitting and staring at customers, that is not polite! The food itself seemed reheated as the chicken kabobs had a mysteriously high water content. Rice was bleh and no onions or jalapeños were provided. I gave it a three because the lady at the counter was nice and personable. Oh and the bathroom was super clean. Overall: will not return.

The food is ok, but the service is one of the worst, the cashiers don’t care about customers.

I ordered takeout tonight and they left off two of my menu items, but charged me for them. Now I’m trying to make a salad out of what’s in my refrigerator since the meal isn’t big enough for my family. So much for having an easy night without cooking :(

A small local chain that is predictably good. Very reasonably priced and fast with consistently good food. Not as garlicy as other middle eastern food, but rather more sumac and vinegar(still delicious!) I would recommend their falafal and kabob plate, as well as their tomato/cucumber salad.

I love their food but today the lack of service calls for a bad Unilocal review. At 11am this morning I ordered 3 kabob meals to be delivered ten mins away from them. At 11:45a I called to check on ETA and they said the driver was already out to deliver my order. A TEN minute drive!!! At 12:45p I called and they told me the delivery guy got lost and asked for my number to give to the driver so I could give him directions. Are you kidding me I’m not a GPS! And still I didn’t get my order until 1:30p! My food was cold! I called the store and asked to speak to a manager so I could get a refund. My food was cold, the bread soggy, and the containers were broken and spilling out. Asking for the manager the guy, Navid told me he’d be there between 2−3p. I call at 430 and the manager still not there and still no refund. Worst customer service ever!!! I had no lunch and I work at a hospital! I waited almost two hours for my food!!!

We were very happy with selecting this place, expecting something more ‘sandwichy’ but got some really great food, in a sparkling clean restaurant, with very friendly and professional staff. The food came out quickly enough, but while we were waiting they brought us some bread and dip, which was very good. I remember we were impressed from the get-go, when we said«this is our first time here» and he gave us free sodas. Think about it, the cost to them is pennies, but the likelihood of us returning increased greatly from that one welcoming gesture. Thanks guys, I don’t even drink soda so I had some brewed tea, and it was very tasty also. Next time I’m in the mood for Middle Eastern, I’m heading here, no question.

Wow, this place is yummy and so much better than Meat in a Box. All the ingredients were fresh. I’ve had their chicken kebabs and it is absolutely flavorful. So juicy and tasty. My husband is obsessed with their hot sauce too.

One of my 5 go-to restaurants for take out! The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. The menu is very comprehensive, with kabobs, salads, pita sandwiches, and more. Most of the items can be served on a sandwich or as a platter, which is great. And everything comes with pita and yogurt cucumber sauce — which is worth eating here, alone! The chicken kabobs are always perfectly tender, the lamb is cooked well, and the beef has just the right mix of spices. A definite winner!

Love this Moby Dick’s!!! After a horrible customer service experience, at the McLean location, we were thrilled when the Falls Church location opened and hoped for the best. So far, we have not been disappointed. The meat is juicier and the customer service has been great! We order the family meal about once a week and it has been very good, every time. We also found out they have a homemade red hot sauce and it is delicious. We feel it is less spicy than the green sauce and really like the flavor, but, all of their sauces are yummy! Here’s hoping the customer service and food stay at their current level!

Really good Iranian food and specials. Something that is really unique to try is the saffron ice cream. They say it makes you happy. It’s delicious and I definitely recommend it!

I’m glad that Moby Dick’s House of Kabob chose this Falls Church location. I like having it there as an option, even if I don’t go there a lot. This Moby Dicks is a lot nicer on the inside than the Fairfax or McLean locations since its brand new. There is plenty of seating, both booths and tables. My friend and I went around 11:30am for an early lunch and there was no line. That being said, it took about 10 or 15 minutes for our food to come out. I’m not sure if this place would be considered fast casual or not, but it just seemed like a long wait for food when no one else was there. The food itself is pretty good. I ordered the lamb platter instead of the sandwich because I wanted the side of rice. The platter was a little hard to eat since it is just pieces of lamb and pieces of bread separately and it was a little difficult to put them together. I would come back here if a friend wanted to go, but I think that there are other kabob places in the area that are better.

What a great addition to the dining choices in Falls Church City. Moby Dick is right off Washington St(a.k.a. Route 7) in the City with America’s Dumbest Motto. Despite the name, Moby Dick is an Iranian restaurant with a great selection of appetizers, kabobs and platters. Moby Dick is sanitized, homogenized, gringo-ized. The squeamish-ist, pickiest suburbanite will feel completely comfortable. I had the Thursday lunch special. For $ 7.99 I got half a chicken baked Persian style over on basmati rice. It came with a sauce of sautéed barberry, shredded tangerine peel, sugar and saffron.(I have no idea what a barberry is, but it was good.) The whole thing came with fresh baked(not freshly re-heated) pita. It was more than I should have eaten, but I didn’t let that stop me. Don’t drive from DC — after all there are 17 MDs in metro DC — but if you’re nearby, Moby Dick offers good food at bargain prices. Question: anyone know why an Iranian place is named Moby Dick? There must be an interesting back story there somewhere.
