Fair selection when you consider it is a state store. Other reviewers were apparantly not aware of VA state laws or procedure, all VA stores can only carry VA wines. Critique the store, not the law. Also there are only 3 distillieries of bourbon in VA so the fact they had product from these microdistilliries is a good thing, most stores will not have loxal bourbons in stock. This is one of the better stores in the area. Cleaner, bigger, and employees actually speak english.

I am not sure what the deal is but they only have local wines here. I think it’s VA law but I was not happy about that! Regardless as usual liquor stores tend to be a little stand offish and here it is the same. They have a decent hard liquor selection and it’s location is very accessible.

In the same shopping plaza as Giant Foods, and it’s along my commute so it’s a convenient place to pick up some soju. It’s not a very big store so their selection may be a little smaller… but definitely ask, as they might have some in the back.

Imagine a buffet line for an alcoholic. That is essentially what this place looks like. At least the store is well stocked and has a significant variety of what you need — of course, for me, that would be copious amounts of Ketel One. The one disadvantage that keeps it from getting a fourth star is exactly what Shawn G. pointed out — there is no refrigerated section.

My first experience with a state controlled liquor store. It’s a bit odd, but I do like the fact that they only carry Virginia wines. They also have a small selection of Virgina whiskey and bourbon, but you have to ask them to point it out. Picked up a bottle of Barboursville bubbly here for under $ 20. Don’t expect to find anything refrigerated here.
