Don is an exceptional instructor and made my soaring experiences memorable. I’ve soared twice with him, around my birthday each fall, and plan to make it an annual treat. The plane is beautiful and I always wish I could stay up longer(like all day). I am a 70 year old female and love every minute.

A truly awesome experience. Don and his staff are great people. Don provided a lot of great information about gliding and flight in general before our departure. I would highly recommend taking a flight and enjoying nearly silent flight.

Don and his team couldn’t be any better. Don had a great pre-flight intro and was extremely knowledgeable. The flight was very exciting and was given the chance at the controls as much as I wanted. All in all a very fun time and will be back! Thanks Don and team!

This is a great gift idea or a great place to start if you’ve always wanted to learn how to fly. Don is very customer oriented and makes sure all customers are ready for an experience of a lifetime.

I’ll preface my review by stating that this was my first glider ride, but it was pretty damn fun. The preconceived notion I had that gliders just kind of slowly float around was definitely wrong… Don, the owner/instructor, is a really nice guy and made the experience very laid-back and enjoyable. He’s been flying for about 20 years and has been operating Cross Country Soaring for around 8 years as of this writing. Ride options vary based upon how high of a tow you get — starting at a winch launch up to the mile high ride. The latter lasts about 40 minutes and depending on your comfort level you can take over the controls for a bit and let Don do a few more advanced maneuvers. They also offer tows/winch launches for those with their own glider, glider rentals and instruction for those looking to get certified. Definitely won’t be a one-and-done activity for me.
