This place is a horror! Along the main road to the cemetery office the grass is green and maintained. If you go only one block down you will be repulsed. My parents are buried in our family plot and there is not one stick of grass on the entire 12 grave plot. The whole area is dirt and rocks with a few pieces of tall crab grass sticking up out of the dirt. I went into the office. as I have for the past 4 years… and was told they do not have a watering system. This is supposed to excuse them from having any grass or doing any maintenance. I am appalled. Shame on these people! After leaving there we went to visit my husband’s parent’s gravesite in Queens, at a very old cemetery, Mount Hebron. The place was so beautifully maintained. Areas where the grass was not in good shape, were being reseeded. The ownership and ground crew of Beth Moses should hang their heads in shame.

Looks lovely and peace full. Happy to be with the living today. The grass is well manicured and the bushes are groomed. Looks like they water the grasses regularly. Nice bathroom facilities. Bless all

This is my first review of a cemetery. It’s hard to give it 5-stars because that means that the place is, «as good as it gets.» How can a cemetery be, «as good as it gets?» I am even concerned about giving it 4-stars because that means: «Yea, I am a fan…» Really? Someone is a «fan» of cemeteries? Frankly, I don’t like going to the cemetery – it’s always a very emotional experience. The people that should really be writing this review are the folks that reside at Beth Moses full-time, not an infrequent visitor like myself. But I am not sure that they even have the correct computer tools down under to write a Unilocal review. And the family members that I have been visiting there for a long time did not even own a computer at any time to my knowledge, so I will have to write the review for them I guess. This cemetery is located along Cemetery Row(Pinelaw) in Suffolk County, Long Island. The area was zoned Cemetery many years ago and there are many folks buried here now, including a large military(veterans) cemetery. Beth Moses is a Jewish Cemetery. It’s open all days of the week except Saturday. They are open generally 9 to 4.30 but call the office to confirm. It’s not a fancy cemetery – it’s basic, but you are allowed to have a large monument or a mausoleum here. What I like best about it is that it is still spread out. You can meditate in peace for a long time undisturbed. It’s also easy to find an open corner or area to park the car near the memorials. They have a bathroom at the office building and you can also check in and they will give you directions if you do not know where to go. Some people pay for landscaping and some don’t, so there is some inconsistency. And because some were buried years ago, theirs has grown taller than others. Some have grown so large that you cannot see their stone anymore. If you pay for perpetual care, they will trim your bush, but if not, the bush grows wild, sometimes onto your neighbor’s property. You may have to trim your neighbor’s or complain to the office. It’s kind of like real life again. All in all – not a bad place if you need a place to settle down for a while…

This cemetery is a disgrace. The ownership and management not only take no pride in the appearance of the grounds, but they actively defend their practices of leaving cuttings from trim work all over the graves, foot stones and walking paths. They never cut the grass between individual graves. Areas are overgrown and the place looks abandoned. It’s personally offensive to see how little management cares about making this place look decent. You might as well bury your loved one out in a corn field.
