Love to get ice cream and go to the park! Friendly employees and reasonable prices! We always make up what we order and they are very accomodating.

Every summer my husband and I see all these little ice cream places open up in our area and we get really excited, go in to try their ice cream, and come out disappointed but Silver Dairy was an exception. Some of the creamiest soft serve I’ve ever had, and pretty cheap too. They’re sizes are not as large as a Diary Queen might be but, they are large enough to be satisfying. Every time we’ve been there, they’ve been busy and it seems to be quite a popular teenage hang out, but it’s still very family friendly. Our 1 year old just had his 1st cup of ice cream there. Silver Dairy also sells some flavors of Guernsey’s ice cream and they are to DIE for! I just wish they’d stay open for a little longer in the fall. :) If you go… get the Turtle.

The Silver Dairy is one of those places that never gets old. It’s a great place for gathering with friends after a school event like a band or orchestra concert. Young or old, there is something for everyone there. To draw you in(like ice cream in general isn’t enough), Moolinda is the cow that studiously stands watch and gladly accepts rides from any person.(Not a real cow, though. Don’t get your hopes up). They serve soft serve ice cream, Guernsey hard ice cream, sugar comes, waffle cones, sundaes, malts, slushes, flurries, and much more.

Fast, friendly, accurate service. Great treat while staying for the night in town. There’s a cow statue you can take you picture with, sidewalk chalk to draw on the cement, and if u r lucky like we were you may even see fireflies after dark :0)

These guys have a pretty hefty menu if you ask me! They don’t skimp on your sizes, the customer service is always sweet as pie, and the ice cream has never disappointed. Great location! Not cash only anymore! Love that you can do drive thru.

This is the Farmington equivalent too Livonia’s Hand-D-Dip. Nobodies expecting superfast service, these places are packed all Summer long. Don’t come here not expecting a line. That said, the ice cream is top notch.

Great little Ice Cream shop with long local history. Now serving Guernsey’s. It’s always busy for a reason. Super cheap and great service. Location dates back to the 40’s. If you want the chain puke so there if not support a local business

I don’t get it. There’s constantly lines of people here to get ice cream in the summer time, but it is so mediocre. It’s grocery store quality ice cream, which of course can still be satisfying, but that’s not why I go to an ice cream shop for. Very dissappointed.

Good dessert, nice to walk or bike to. Super friendly staff. Sometimes they skimp on a few things like not enough surup. They have a punch card which is good, and they put out coupons but not to the type of place I live in even though I am in a prime location to attract my business too. They will run deals too. I like the dark side sundees as I love bats.

We come here because my 3 yr. old begs us to walk up and it’s cheaper than Cold Stone(plus you don’t have to listen to employees sing when you tip them). I am usually disappointed. Today I had a watermelon slushy which had too much syrup and not enough ice. My husbands blueberry shake tasted like a malt and was just okay. I usually get a vanilla dipped in chocolate and even that tastes funny here. I know, how can someone mess that up, you ask… the chocolate has an aftertaste and the vanilla is a bit off. But I am all for supporting local establishments and giving in to my son.

Silver Dairy is a Farmington staple. Just a quick walk from downtown Farmington, this place is a great little walk up ice cream place, perfect for that ice cream cone to finish off a hot summer’s day. I usually opt for a small swirl dipped in chocolate. They also offer flurries, sundaes, frozen slushees and italian sodas. There is also the choice to do the drive through if you can’t be bothered to leave your car. I just went here the other day for a quick cone, and they were nice enough to offer my dog her own doggie dish of vanilla ice cream, topped with a few dog treats. They made Dharma, my pup, a very happy girl! I have to admit that the soft serve ice cream here isn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it hits the spot on a nice summer evening, hence the three star A-OK rating. Oh, and while your here, don’t forget to say hi to Moo-linda, Silver Dairy’s cow mascot right in front of the building… snap a picture if you want, after all, it is a Farmington tradition!

Inexpensive and great soft serve! Smooth and creamy. Nice people and downtown Farmington’s town sqare is just a few blocks. Cash only but its worth the ATM stop. Good variety with some outdoor seating. Can’t miss it, right on Grand River. ATM’s just down the road.

Delicious, delicious soft serve ice cream at such an inexpensive price! You can get vanilla and chocolate(as low as $ 1.59 for a small waffle cone), with a sweet $ 0.35 dip in chocolate, cherry or butterscotch. Or, try some of the flurry specials, which are toppings mixed into your ice cream and into a cup! For ~$ 2.50 I got an apple pie-flavored flurry with pie crust and vanilla ice cream. In downtown Farmington Hills, accessible by SMART.
