Mellow Mango

Yogurt was loaded with sugar. Wasn’t very good. Sweet Frog is still hands down my fav place in town.

Just another froyo place, nothing special. I will say though that it’s very clean and has nice tvs! Lol

Their fro yo is amazing… not too sweet and has a velvety texture… variety of toppings, fresh fruits, and my fav moji! Always get a cup to eat there and get 2 cups to go to stock up in my freezer… yes it is that good. If you like the non-​dairy kibd, must try mango, watermelon, and chocolate sorbet… the last two are seasonal flavor for summer. The fro yo here tastes wayyy better than sweet frog on sycamore dairy rd, SF non-​dairy flavors are too sweet and tastes artificial.

The frozen yogurt here is delicious and there are a lot of really great flavors and toppings. The great thing about being self-​serve is that you get to make your dessert EXACTLY how you want it to be. The inside is always nice and clean than there is also some really nice outdoor seating. Also, it’s never too busy or chaotic like Sweet Frogs. Plus… free wifi!

This was my first time going to Mellow Mango. I usually always go to Sweet Frogs. Well I wanted to try what they had and get a gift card. I go in and there are only two people working. They never said a word to me the whole time I was there. I have my order ready and the manager is on the phone the whole time while I was paying for my order. I was trying to get a gift card but couldn’t get a word in edge wise since he was on the phone. I had a discount card and it took him a minute to look at it and realize it was still good. Didn’t tell me the total and just pointed to the registered. I honestly prefer Sweet Frogs because they have more people working, they are friendly when you walk in the door, and they have events that are family friendly. So yes… never going back to Mellow Mango.

Fayetteville suddenly opened several frozen yogurt bars in early 2012. Out of them all, Mellow Mango stands out among the crowd. They always have many different flavors of yogurt and its never runny. All the toppings are fresh and orderly. They also have the small cups which is perfect for my kids. Its easier for them to gauge the right amount if the cup is smaller. The people working there are always friendly. It doesn’t get much better than this. We go about once a week as an after school treat.

My husband and I drove by the Mellow Mango. Instantly my empty stomach shouted «Stop. Get frozen yogurt!». My husband was happy to oblige and he did a u-​turn. We showed up at 11 am on the dot and the shop wasn’t open yet. We only had to wait a minute for the doors to be unlocked. This self-​serve yogurt place is quite spacious with lots of little metal tables and chairs… definitely designed for the kids or small adults. But no matter, it was cool inside and the wall colors are happy and bright. There were 16 frozen yogurt flavors. Oh my! The myriad of choices included nonfat, lowfat, sugar free, and some that were gluten free. I like to use Vanilla as my base for adding all kinds of goodies; however, the vanilla was marked as «no sugar added» which means artificial sweetener has been added. I don’t do artificial sweeteners! So I was disappointed that my Vanilla choice was not an option. But the Cake Batter and Cheesecake frozen yogurts quickly consoled me. There were many fruit flavors like pomegranate, strawberry, and mango too but I thought the Cheesecake would be a great compliment to fresh fruit as well as chocolately things. The Cheesecake flavor was also designated nonfat. Bonus! I put some of the Chocolate frozen yogurt in my cup. Then I took a minute to look over the toppings bar full of fresh fruit like sliced mango, chopped strawberries, plump whole blackberries, and blueberries. There were big chunks of brownie, all types of candy and cookie bits, nuts, and more. So many choices! After scooping up fresh strawberries and some brownie, I added a little hot fudge. Mellow Mango also serves hot caramel and a few other sauces. The yogurt was very creamy and had a consistency like soft serve ice cream. The Cheesecake was sort of plain but went well with the fruit and brownie while the Chocolate yogurt was delicious all my itself… very chocolately and quite satisfying. Yum! My husband and I enjoyed our cool treats. Oh, if you are looking for a well air-​conditioned, clean place to take a break, have some frozen yogurt, and work on your computer, Mellow Mango has free WiFi. I will definitely visit again.
