Yoky Dominican Doobie Unisex Salon

Please expect to be at this salon for a while. However, I did not have a bad experience. My hair was flowing and my scalp was not burned. You do have to get money from the bank so be aware of that prior to. My hair was not damaged after and I am constant customer

SHORT VERSION: Bad customer service. Mediocre blowouts. They cut your hair while its dry. They are overpriced. They burned me, literally, and didn’t say a word. I don’t recommend this place.
DETAILED VERSION: I had high expectations for this place despite its lack of reviews. My stylists have always been Dominican and in my opinion, they give the absolute best blow-​outs!!! Unfortunately, this experience was not what I hoped for.
When I walked in it was around 11 am and only 3 other customers were in the salon. Yoky immediately started attending me. I wanted to trim my ends, even my hair color, and get a blow out. She quoted me $ 60 and I was ok with it. Well about an hour into my visit the salon got full of people. I was sitting under the dryer while they were coming in. I expected to still be given priority since I arrived first. But that wasn’t the case. I was left sitting in the dryer chair far longer than I should have ! My hair is super thin it doesn’t take an hour for it to dry! I sat there so long i ended up turning the machine off myself and saying the timer went off for them to continue with my trim and blow out. They didn’t properly cover my neck while I sat in the chair and despite my several attempts to fix it, I was burned really bad. Unfortunately I did not notice this until after I left the salon and got home.
When I was done with the dryer chair she said I would be next (in her styling chair). She ended up taking 3 other people before me ! And kept saying sorry just 1 more 1 more. Mind you these were people who came AFTER me! And she kept saying «they’re tired of waiting let me just take care of them real fast». What? As if I wasn’t tired of waiting too? I mean hell I’d been waiting LONGER than them. Not to mention I kept telling her I had an appointment I needed to be at which I ended up being late to because of her.
When she finally sat me in her chair she blow dried my hair it was so mediocre NOT the kind of blowout I am use to or was expecting. She even flat ironed my hair, which in my opinion if you know how to give a bad ass blow out you DO NOT NEED A FLAT IRON (my hair isnt even curly). That kills the volume and bounce you get from a blowout.
Not to mention that her being behind me means she MUST HAVE SEEN THE BURNS ON MY NECK and said nothing at all about. She knows they were not there when I came in and that I sat in her dryer for a little over an hour and yet she said nothing. She cut my hair AFTER the blow out while it was dry! OMG who does that? Some of my hair is uneven needless to say. And to top it all off she charged me $ 80! Just ridiculous!
When I got home my neck hurt so I decided to check it and realized it was badly burned ! I wanted to call her and ask for my money back but I remember paying cash since their credit card machine was down and their ATM had no money (oh yeah. I had to go get cash from a bank down the street smh). I figured she wouldn’t give me my money back and didn’t even bother fighting it. But I wish I would have! $ 80 is so much money for such a bad experience.
