I’ve been in here several times so I think I can safely review it. Yes the service is pretty poor(guy is always on his phone playing a game or texting) but if you ask him to open a case, he will. You just have to ask for help, don’t expect him to help you on his own! As for the price. With all used game stores prices aren’t cheap. But when compared to Game Lobster(which is just down the street), you’re getting a deal by going to Al’s. I’d recommend using a smart phone and VGPC’s app to price the games while your sorting through them. The rare/popular games locked in the cases are the same if not more then on eBay. So your only saving on shipping basically. But the common games can be cheaper then online. You just need to dig around. I do have some issues with it though. Trade in value is horrible, so only trade in your junk that no one else would want. If your looking for something more unusual(like Dreamcast games), you’ll find the same old stuff over and over again. So don’t go there looking for the unusual stuff. Also TRIPLE check your games before buying! I was about to get the Dreamcast version of Alone In The Dark but wanted to check the discs for scratches again before buying but then I noticed something really wrong… the discs were for the PS1 version!!! I pointed this out to the guy and told him I didn’t want it and guess what he did? He just shrugged and put it back in the case as it was! The least he could have done was taken the game out and put a sticker on it warning people it was the wrong system or something…

Broken products, terrible customer service… Not a good way to run a business. They sold me a broken copy of GTA5 for Xbox One, which was overpriced(they were the only people open on a Sunday at 8:25) and neglected to tell me that they don’t take returns on BROKEN products, and I could only get in-store credit. Not only do they sell faulty items, when asked for a simple refund they won’t do it. I will never be returning here again and I urge anyone else who doesn’t want to be ripped off to avoid this place as well.

One of the best selections of used vinyl I’ve found. I have shopped at a lot of record shops featuring used vinyl and most feature plentiful stock of cast off crap no one wants. Al’s has a great selection ranging from esoteric crap to mainstream pop, Rock & Roll, and metal. I find gold in the bins every time I go and the selections are fairly priced. It’s worth the trip. Is is exactly what one would expect to find in a second hand music store? Yep and that’s just fine with me.

This place is dirty, stinks, and messy. The guy behind the counter has no people/customer service skills… my first impression I got from him was unwelcoming. No acknowledgement and bad attitude when I asked him a question about video gameplay. Anyhow is not like I am going into a 5 stars hotel or anything… so I didn’t care much… maybe since this is a 2nd hand store the price for video games would be cheap? WRONG!!! This place is way over price on almost all video games compared to eBay, Amazon, GameStop, and craigslist. Roughly around 15−25% more! I been a game collector for over 5yrs now so I know a game is over priced when I see one. The only thing that is a pro about this place is they do have large selection of good video game titles.

Always great vinyl for cheap. The guy isn’t a man of many words but I’m not one to want someone chatting my ear off as I dig through vinyl. Gotten many great finds for my collection and am thankful for that.

The guy behind the counter didn’t seem interested in helping me. In fact he said” can’t you see I’m in the middle of a game”. All I wanted was for him to test out a console before I shelled out 100 bucks on it. Instead I spent that 100 at action city comics across the street.

I love this place, every time I go in the games have changed and there is new stuff to nostalgia over. I started stopping by here after work once or twice a week a few years ago, and ever since its oddly comforting to see the same guy in the same seat nearly every time I go in. I went in today with the wife and we spent a reasonable amount given the stack of things she found, but its not uncommon for me to go in and buy a stack of used games here so I consider that the normal thing. I have often found rarer, harder to find things here. Sure I could get them on ebay, but its funner to search for treasures at a local place like this. We try to stop by at least once a week, just to see what he has. A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This store is a perfect example of a place that«is what it is». Being a used record/cd/dvd shop you’re going to get a huge selection of titles, ranging from mainstream to «what is THIS?» which I love. You can wander aimlessly for hours through stacks of records and find some pretty unique stuff, as well as pick up some DVD’s for quite cheap. The service is pretty much nonexistent, but what would you expect from a place like this? Everyone behind the counter is pretty similar to Jack Black in High Fidelity, which I think is pretty fitting. The place is small and cluttered, but again, what else would you expect? Probably not for you if you are easily bothered by coarse language. One of the last of this type of store around, so worth visiting. P. S. They do NOT get give cash refunds(they do give exchanges though). I don’t see this as a problem and is what most stores like this do, but somehow this seems to confuse people every time I’m in this store.
