Food is okay. Standard diner fare. Last time I was here, it took 45 minutes from the time I sat down to the time I got my check and was ready to go because my waitress was at another table, chatting with the people sitting there.

Just stopped in to have breakfast while my glasses were being fixed next door at LensCrafters. There were not many people seated in the restaurant so I thought it would be perfect to get in and out for breakfast. I was seated and then forgot about. It took 5 minutes to even get a menu and there were 2 – 3 servers for 8 tables of a few people each. I got the menu and she said she would bring me a water. Didn’t see here for another 8 minutes. At this point I walked out. Don’t go to this restaurant. The service is awful and the employees don’t care.

This family style restaurant is a favorite. They have plenty of yummy comfort foods, ie biscuits and gravy, meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, and a wide range of breakfast offerings, lunch items, and dinner menu. Something for every appetite. The welcome hospitality is a huge plus, the owner, Anthony is a hands on owner, and the staff work well together. Cuddy’s Taxi drivers and staff love this place, and it is kid friendly.

4.5 stars. Highly recommended for breakfast & brunch. This is the place you go to when you get a craving for diner hash brows. We both agreed that the hash browns were the best we’d had. Also, crepes are pretty hard to make & they do them well. I’m a pretty picky eater, but there were a lit of things on the menu that piqued my interest. They also give you this option of combining any 4 item for just under $ 10, which solved my dilemma of choosing between orange cream crepes & poached eggs with hollandaise sauce; I had both. My friend enjoyed her french toast. We’ll also be coming to check out their pies on the holidays. They have a very large variety of them. I’ve never had a chocolate mint one before. There’s only 2 con to this place; The wait after you order, & no wifi. Seems they have only one or two waitresses. So make sure to come on a day you don’t have an appointment for something.

Village inn is very quiet. And service need to step it up. When entering, just like other reviewers, there were probably one table and two servers. One server saw my friend and I but she called over to the guy to get us. Which then it took him about 3 minutes to do. They provided no refills. Put our check on table and when we put our card, they ignored it for a good 10 minutes. During our entire time my friend and I was there, the servers didn’t even step out. No one was at the front nor out to watch the customer. The guy went inside and the girl was sitting at the booth back turned against the world, and no surprise, she is on her phone. Looking through their menu, it is extremely vast. I suggest they cut it down a bit. And fix their menus because my menu had some pages my friend didn’t had. Their food was okay. I got a eggs Benedict with beef patty or a philly steak The reason why I say or is because from the menu I ordered a steak but when the order came out it was drench in sauce. I couldn’t even tell if my patty was there or not. I wished they could have made the hash brown slightly more crispier due to mine has gone soft real quick. On the plus side, their portions are HUGE! Worth the money for portion but not exactly the quality. Overall: Food: cooled very quickly and Soaked in sauce causing the crispness to not even exist Service: could improve. Servers need to stop calling on each other to do things and do their job. Fix the menu!!!

Such great food! Such great service! Came here for dinner the night before and back for breakfast! I had a chicken fried steak sandwich and I LOVED it! Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time! They also have expressos. Sadly no white chocolate mochas but they do have peppermint and pumpkin spice! So good! I wanted to try the hollandise sauce before i decided to order and they brought some out for me. The raspberry tea is also amazing, as is the strawberry lemonade! With free refills on soda, regular coffee, tea and sodas. The space is here nice and large so even though it gets pretty fll it stays quiet. Will definitely return often!

Not the best, not the worst. Got the food out fast enough. Small language problem with the waitress. What I ordered was pictured piled up on itself. I asked for the food to be laid out separate. It was, it was, on 6 different plates. One adult entrée, coffee, one kids meal, milk, $ 20. Kinda high I thought. Music was good, place looked clean, food was«ok».

I don’t know about the rest of the reviews, but our experience was excellent! Maybe others went in with unrealistic expectations. The place is a diner style $-$$ place with an extensive menu that looks like it has been there forever. The interior is mid 1980’s, complete with blonde wood veneer tables, and Miami Vice-esque pastel paint and accents in teal and purple. The music was light rock of 1975 – 1985. It was so unabashedly uncool that I’m surprised it wasn’t full of bearded hipsters sneering and meh-ing about everything they’d learned online or in junior college about the 80’s. The décor and mood of the place was great for us. We just wanted a light, basic meal before a movie nearby, and Village Inn fully provided! We got excellent service from Erika A. My wife had a half a Paris something sandwich loaded with ham and melted cheese with a sizeable salad, and I had half a Reubens with a Southwest salad. Both plates were full of tasty, well prepared grubbins for a mere $ 8.49 each! We each got a delicious slice of pie for $ 1.99, just because that option existed. Also, most of the other patrons were families or elderly, so you know the joint is great for value. And breakfast, and lunch portions and combos, are available in the late afternoon and evening. What is there not to like about an affordable, unpretentious, diner-style eatery that feels like it is in a time warp from 1985? Stop in and experience it yourself.

This place used to be really great, good food and great service. The last time I ate here it took nearly a half hour to get our food. There was only one refill on our drinks and that was after flagging down the waitress to ask for refills. This morning my father and I went there for breakfast. Our drink orders were taken, after 5 minutes I noticed two other couples come in and were seated. They had their drinks and orders taken before we even had our drinks. I commented to my father that I thought it was first come first served. we waited some more. after 10 – 15 minutes our drinks had still not come out, nor had a waitress been by to take our order. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else to eat. Will never return unless the service was to improve.

We arrived at 12PM and the restaurant was pretty empty. A women sat us in a minute and grabbed us drinks. She got my husbands drink but my coffee was brewing apparently. She told us our waitress would be around soon. About 15 minutes passed with an empty coffee cup in front of me and I finally got my coffee and the waitress came by the first time. She didn’t say hi or anything, just asked«what do you want?» We ordered a Double Decker Club and the Belgian Waffle Combo. It came about 35 minutes later which seems a little long for a waffle and a basic club sandwich with fries… and considering they weren’t busy at all. My Belgian Waffle Combo was interesting. The bacon tasted absolutely terrible! I don’t even know how to describe the awful taste. The waffle was fine, it tasted like a basic waffle but every once in awhile I could taste little burned dirty spots from the waffle iron. My husband said the club was okay. Crappy bacon on the sandwich and frozen French fries.(I saw an Aramark car out back… please tell me I didn’t just eat and pay for Aramark) We thought about ordering pie but they had only one old looking pie in the display case which was a turnoff and i was convinced the meal was going to get any better. Our waitress wasn’t good at all, she only stopped by three time including the time she came to pick our order up and drop out ticket off. It took her another 25 minutes to get our ticket… we were just sitting there waiting and waiting and finally my husband turned around to grab her attention and we got the ticket. I can’t believe it was $ 30 for such a crappy meal! I wish I could get our money back and I’m super glad we didn’t order anything else. Also, the restaurant could really use an update. I understand money is tight but a place like this could afford a little facelift and it would probably really boost sales. The floor is old looking, the booth we sat in was dirty and ripped. I would honestly be afraid to see what the kitchen looks like.

Would have given more stars if the service wasn’t so dang slow! Very friendly waitress, just very slow service, probably could of had two meals in the tie we had one at other places here lol. Ok, that being said, minus the very very slow service, the waitress was friendly(just slow) the food was good,(I went with a Country Western Omelet, I really liked it, the Hash browns where ok, and had a side of pancakes– with strawberries on it– I liked the fact the strawberries where freash and not from the can as most places have. The OJ, was so so, had better OJ at other places. Been a while since we had been here– as used to come here all the time, glad its still here but just wish the service was faster. Overall, IMO I think I would recommend this place if your in the Federal Way area and want a bit to eat.

I love this place for a regular weekend breakfast. Obviously, nothing special or fancy. Not taking out of town company here. But, for my Saturday breakfast or lunch, this place does not disappoint. Friendly, sincere service. Consistently good food. I agree with the other reviewers that the service is not speedy, but on a weekend morning, I care more about the waitress caring how I want my eggs done. I also agree the interior is dated, but hello, this is a recession and if my food is good I don’t care. Overall I recommend this place for a hungry person who wants to be well cared for.

Stopped in here for breakfast on my way back from a family trip to the beach. Walked in the restaurant, which wasn’t even busy, and was ignored from the minute I entered. I went to the bathroom and the entire time I was gone no one checked in with my other company to see if we needed a table or service or anything. I said something to the front desk about it and they acted like it was whatever! Thinking about eating here?! I say keep it pushing!

I have been here several times over the years. And there has never been anything noteworthy usually. Just your run of the mill diner, quieter than Black Bear. And a bit classier interior than Denny’s. Standard menu choices, average price. I mean its a diner right? Service was quick and professional. I came in late lunch time, which for me is usually dinner time; so a quieter time of the day. Now to the food, i ordered biscuits, eggs, gravy and hash browns. First, the eggs were just about perfect. 4/5, they were cooked right to my request, and were about average quality. The hash browns are average quality, but again cooked near perfect. Warm gooey inside, crispy outside; nice potato flavor. But the biscuits and gravy was different than i was expecting. The biscuits came with a sausage patty in the middle. Different wasn’t expecting it, but good nonetheless. Needed a bit more gravy, and had a strong sausage flavor, i prefer a more milky gravy. But again was still enjoyable. After a couple years, coming here isn’t too bad. Decent portion size, average price, and middle of the road quality doesn’t make it stand out. Professional service, quiet atmosphere, and a great cook do make it revisit worthy. I would give it a 3.75* but rounding it up to a 4* cuz 3* is under rating it.

Slow. Our waitress needed training on customer service. Décor stuck in the 90’s green and mauve. Bleh. Food was meh. Which is sad since other village Kitchens we have visited were much better!

OK lets start with I love French Silk Pie and my wife thought of this place. When we walked in I was worried since they only had 2 pies in the cooler. Neither French Silk. Fortunately we asked and she said they have two pieces in the back. But first we had to have dinner. We were there at 6:30 on a Monday and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. Service was OK. We tried the 3 plan dinner. Soup — ½ sandwich — FRENCHSILK. I had the tuna and my wife had the cheese sandwich. We did pay a $ 1.xx more to get the upgraded sandwiches. We both agree the«grown up grilled chees» was good but I didn’t care for the Albacore Tuna Melt. The Tomato Basil was actually quite good. The French Silk was like we remember it from Chicago — years ago — DELICIOUS. We will probably go back but I would not consider it a good dinner choice — with only one other couple — probably a consistent choice of their customers. There breakfast looks good and we will have to go back and try it.

Decided to finally check out their breakfast here since I have been driving by it for so long now and never made time to swing in. When my wife and I walked in the place had customers but wasn’t crazy packed. We stood around for a bit before a waitress came over and found us a seat(not sure if its one of those places that you find a table or if you need to wait to be seated). We both started out with their vanilla latte, took them a while to make it and when we got it, it wasn’t that good, but the girl did apologize for taking so long. We were probably there for about 15 mins or so before the waitress took our order and then another 20 mins to get our food and then another bit of a wait after we were finished. Despite the slower service, the food was actually really good. I had the biscuits and gravy and was surprised how tasty it was! They put in sausage in the biscuits and then pour gravy all over the top. In addition to this carb crazed overload, they also give you two eggs and an order of hash browns. I will have to come in again and see if I had just an «off» service day experience, but for now I stand by my 3 star rating.
