I haven’t had any luck finding a primary care doc, and get this, my husband is a doctor. After calling both a Multicare and St. Joe’s office and getting told that they aren’t accepting new patients, I called Virginia Mason.
Holy Moses, they really cared and tried to work me into the schedule that day. OK it didn’t work out and I was OK with that, but they did make an appointment within two weeks. I spoke with four different receptionists/​schedulers and each one was polite and respectful and made me feel like I really mattered.
Wow, what a great experience. Looking forward to my appointment.

My kids pediatrician is here and we love him. It doesn’t take forever to see him, wait times aren’t bad, and he listens and spends time with you while you are there. The nurses are all wonderful and we have a good experience every time we are there. No complaints from this mom of four.

It’s close to home and the parking is better then going downtown. If you have any issues speak up and they will make it right

I have been a patient at Virginia Mason Federal Way for approximately 8 years. I’ve had multiple doctors there, multiple procedures and surgeries, too.
The care I receive is excellent. After having several bad experiences at Multicare, I’m glad I made the switch.
I haven’t had any luck with finding a primary care doc at this location, but other than that, everything has been great.

This has been the most difficult place to receive care for my fibro. Things started off great then went down hill quickly. Can’t get an appointment in a timely manner. Can’t get a call back when I have questions. Most importantly on 3 separate occasions prescribed medicine wasn’t filled at my pharmacy due to the fact it had dire conflicts wirh current prescribed meds that the same Nurse Practitioner prescribed.
I was run through every specialist in an attempt to use my stellar insurance. I’m done dealing with this place. It’s a total joke!!!

I love it here! I had bariatric surgery with Dr. Jeffery Hunter and the experience was wonderful. I also had the pleasure of meeting with Stephanie (nutrition) and Jennifer (his assistant?) and they were outstanding. They even have me there email for any questions or concerns I had. I would recommend him to anyone as he is a skilled surgeon and has a great bedside manner!

I went with a friend to Virginia Mason and met Donna in Cardiology Dept. She was a fantastic medical assistant and had tons of good information. I also received some amazing night crème from Donna with anti aging results. Ask her about the night crème it works very well.

my doctor didn’t listen to a word i said.
being young with chronic pain, i experience a lot of resistance in the medical community. in 10+ years of being treated, in three states, and through at least five hospitals, i have only had two doctors who have truly listened to me.
i have been accused of drug seeking. i have had random drug testing by suspicious doctors. i have been sent to psychologists and psychiatrists. i have been told to exercise in the same breath that i have been told i was suspiciously thin. i have been prescribed medications that were $ 45 PER PILL. clearly, this is all very sensitive for me and i don’t like feeling criminalized. it happens more often than not.
she saw me for 20 minutes and prescribed me a medication that i have been on before. i told her it made me manic and depressed and suicidal, and i was already situationally depressed due to how negatively i am affected by my headaches. she told me to try it again if i was really interested in finding a cure. she also diagnosed me with migraines simply because cluster headaches were too rare.
i said i have had two migraines — auras, light sensitivity, etc. — and they were night and day. but cluster headaches are «too rare to be considered an option unless proven otherwise.» so my migraines must be atypical.
oh, okay. well: i wasn’t even really supposed to be treated there. i was supposed to just prove i exist before seeing a specialist.
i had an mri on another day and was feeling pretty anxious about it. the whole thing took less than half an hour and that was an upside. i asked if i was going to have contrast and he shrugged and said «she didn’t order it.» end of discussion. he didn’t even pause putting the headgear on to talk to me like a person.
i felt so rushed. it was like waking up at boot camp. he told me to get dressed again while standing by the door, ready to open it to let me back out. he didn’t even show me back. he just told me to follow the signs.
i had a pleasant experience with the receptionists, though.
i am already looking elsewhere to be treated. it seems like a nice place, but i am at a point in my life where i need find someone with the time to truly help me before i age out of my insurance — that, or apply for disability in my early 20s. i’m not fucking around, and i don’t think i need to carry a banner around with me to prove it.

This is specifically made for the 14 floor. They actually cares about their patients. This was the first time I had to stay overnight at the hospital. I also love the nurses there. They were a lot of fun. They seemed to actually like their job. If you’re ever on the 14^th floor of Virginia Mason you’ll be taken care of.

My family has been going here for a little over 20 years. I highly recommend this medical center… especially for pediatrics.

Out of all the medical facilities I’ve ever been to, I can safely say I’ve finally found a medical center and a doctor I am completely satisfied with. The reception area is right there when you walk in, and the receptionists are warm and friendly. The entire facility is clean and organized, well maintained and inviting. If you’re in the Federal Way area, I highly recommend Virginia Mason Medical Center!
