My favourites are the stuffed mushroom caps, portabella pasta, and their soup is always delicious.

This place is THEWORST. The food is okay but the service is HORRIBLE. Have tried three different times and always the same. Don’t waste your time.

I went to this place for stuffed mushrooms. They’re ok. Too much grease though, I think they can use much less butter. The service is average and the place is clean for the most part. I will go again to see if I have a better time maybe I was just in a bad mood that day… I don’t just stop going to a place if I have a bad experience the first time. After the second visit the gloves come off.

Should be 3 ½ stars for the pretty good value here. Bottom line is that you might not get a gourmet meal here, but the value(what you get for your money) is pretty darned good. I ordered lemon pepper mussels(one pound) off the appetizer menu, and I was surprised when the server said«you know that comes with pasta». Very nice. I wasn’t expecting that since so many times mussels come with just the broth. The lemon pepper broth had a lot of minced garlic in there and the dish was very tasty. I asked to substitute a vegetable for the pasta, and had a nice steamed broccoli crown in its place. The broccoli was served in a ramekin, stem side down, so it looked like a little bonsai tree. The mussels and side were $ 12.95. I added the Take Five’s salad bar for $ 5.95 –it was good, but to be honest, pretty average fare. Anything unusual on the salad bar? Maybe some cubed cheese and pickled vegetables offered alongside the usual lettuce, tomatoes, cukes, onions, cottage cheese, pepperoncini, beets, chickpeas, black olives, and cole slaw. My wife hit the jackpot with a mammoth ziti and sweet sausage– a huge serving with tons of meat. It came with the salad bar included and ran $ 15.95. Service was fine, our server was attentive and pleasant. Décor, well, kind of average in a «What would Robert Irvine do?» kind of way. It was a pleasant dinner, no problems at all, good food, good service. Sounds like an A-OK to me…

Food is okay if you are not used to good food. If you are a foodie, look elsewhere.

I’ve been wanting to have dinner here for a while, it had been many, many years since I’d been here. My wife and I finally decided to come up here on a Friday night around 530pm. Parking lot wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be, considering the time. But the dining room definitely started to fill during our dinner. We were seated and greeted right away, by the pleasant but nameless server. Drinks and fresh warm bread were brought out promptly. No suggestions offered by the server from a well rounded menu. However, one menu had dinner specials page and one didn’t. So we had to inquire if they were available. I ordered Mom’s pot roast from the specials, my wife had the chicken parmigiana. Soup and salad bar are included with all entrées. We both ordered chicken w/rice soup, served family style in crock type bowl. Soup tasted home-made with nice flavor and consistency. Salad bar was average and well kept. I was happy the entrée did not come out right away and we had enough time to finish the soup and salad. Chicken parm came out on a platter sized plate, and I knew right off I’d be having some of it for lunch the next day. Chicken was good and wife thought the angel hair pasta was fresh. I was a little disappointed when Moms pot roast came out. A mound of mashed potatoes covered in gravy, then covered with shredded roast. The beef was tender, but mashed potatoes were soupy with all that on top and baby carrots mixed in. I think I would have given four stars had I ordered the chicken parm, and if the server was a little more attentive to small details like keeping drink glasses full. Probably would not return, mostly because of proximity to home. And it was not good enough to recommend to others.

Local paper just gave this place a positive review so we thought we’d give it a try. luckily. we went on a tuesday night. a 5 course meal for $ 20! it was out of this world and the bargain of the century. started out with delicious calamari… next home-made soup… decent if limited salad bar… and a beautiful slab of roast beef. NOT some bargain basement cut but the real deal. for dessert. we brought home the cheesecake which was fine. our waitress, rachel was top notch. very perky and right on with the recommendations. its half bar and half restaurant but ALL good.
