I met Mara as my daughter’s recommendation. Couldn’t be more pleased. she gave me a fantastic cut and we had a wonderful conversation. would highly recommend her and her salon. Ok, I have naturally curly, ie; FRIZZ-​bomb hair. Just got the Keratin Smoothing Treatment, care of Bonnie the Great!!!
My hair has never looked better; this is huge, considering I am 48 years old (and have had dud keratin treatments elsewhere)! Thanks to her, my hair is, for the first time now, soft and silky smooth, shiny with NO product, and still retaining enough of my curl to look very natural.
Over the years I have been to other places and spent thousands of dollars trying to get my hair just right, and I finally did, here.
I have only had the cut and treatment for three days and already I have gotten multiple compliments on how great my hair looks… from total strangers!
This is my new hair styling home. I will also be coming in for the keratin smoothing treatments regularly. So glad I tried it! Only regret? I wish I would have known Bonnie 20 years ago. MUAH Green Room!

Mara is THE BEST. It has taken me years to find a stylist/​colorist I want to come back to time after time, but she is it! She listens, she has good advice, her products are high quality, and with all that her prices are incredibly reasonable. To top it all off she’s a kind and interesting person to spend time with while getting your hair done.

Mara is truly a gem. I was in need of a new stylist. I wasn’t sure what to do next with my hair. I am African-​American and was elated when she said she would try an organic smoothing perm on my hair. Although Af-​American hair is not her area of expertise, she did a strand test to see which smoothing perm would work best. Although the stronger one was indeed better at straightening, she recommended the one that was less potent, since my hair had some damage (which I really appreciated). The perm worked really well, and I am able to have more flexibility with my hair. I am truly excited that I have a «local» hairstylist and do not have to make long drives to the East Bay. By the way, this perm is good for anyone who has curly hair. My hair is just really curly, so it took longer for the perm to «take.»

Mara did an awesome job with my curly hair. I went from really long to really short (ear length) for the first time, and she cut my hair in gradual steps, asking me if I was okay with the length at every step. She even took care of donating my hair to Locks of Love for me.
As someone with curly hair, I would highly recommend her. She paid attention to what my hair wanted to do, and cut it with the curl so it looked natural. I’m very pleased with my cut, and I’ll definitely be going back to her!

My only complaint is that Mara is so popular, it can be hard to get an appointment! She deserves her popularity — a wonderful hair stylist, a delightful person with a commitment to running a green business, and a great member of the Felton community. Thank you, Mara!

She gets the color right every time and i walk out of there looking so cute! Prompt, professional and keeps up with the latest trends and styles. We are lucky to have her in our neck of the woods. I had the sheer awesome luck of having my first haircut in California by Olivia! I have very long and thick hair and the gutsy request to have it cut in a way that would keep the length, but be virtually maintenance free. Olivia is extremely creative in her approach, giving each customer individualized attention and careful thought. I really appreciate this. My hair came out even better than I could imagine, my boyfriend keeps asking me if I did my hair special, but I haven’t – wash and brush. I feel like I got a customized haircut, created just for me, not some preconceived standard cut. She’s awesome. I now have a reason to get regular haircuts again. And she’s like the nicest person in the world, definitely make an appointment with her… you’re welcome.

I really want to visit your salon, but the first step for me is good customer service; especially for us locals who get the local businesses through those lean non-​tourist months.

Mara is extremely knowledgeable about hair health and style, cares about using the highest quality, organic, non-​toxic products available, and offers her services at affordable prices. These three qualities alone are enough to go see her, but you’ll also discover that she’s a super-​cool, innovative, and inspiring woman, and just really enjoyable to be around!
I found Mara and The Green Room through Groupon, when I purchased an organic, keratin hair-​smoothing treatment. I have naturally curly hair, but unfortunately I damaged it by doing a Brazilian blow-​out to straighten it. That procedure permanently changed the structure of my hair, and ever since then I’ve had pieces that are straight, frizzy, and semi-​curly. I have very confused hair cuticles for sure! As a result, I had been using a high-​heat flat iron to straighten my hair and provide consistency, but that only further compromised its health.
I went to Mara feeling pretty hopeless about the state of my hair, but she was kind, reassuring, and informative. She spent 3 full hours performing the organic smoothing treatment, during which she provided extensive education on how to restore the health of my hair. I was amazed at her high level of customer service, given that this was a Groupon deal with minimal to no profit for her. The experience demonstrated that she takes her business and clientele very seriously, acts with honesty and integrity, and goes to great lengths to ensure customer satisfaction.
I saw her a week later for hair cut and what she did for my curls was amazing! I am actually wearing my hair curly again and really liking it. I’m looking forward to seeing her for a hair color next time, especially because she uses organic, botanical products that are great for people and the planet. She also started carrying organic make-​up and skin care lines in her salon, too, which I’m eager to try.
Mara is a wonderful gem in our community and such a great find! Go see her! You’ll be so pleased you did!

I really enjoyed my experience here. I am making this my new salon now. My hair looks great and I had a nice time chatting with Mara. The fact that she only uses green (organic, botanical) products is what drew me there initially but I will be a regular because of her professionalism, talent and fair prices! Highly recommend.

Best Place to have any beauty salon treat done!

Yay, this place is awesome! The owner is really nice, and talented, and her place looks very nice and professional. I would go back, and definitely recommend my friends to go as well.

Mara is an incredibly gifted artist. She is by far the best colorist/​stylist I have ever seen and has a eye for details. Every time I leave her beautiful, tranquil salon, I feel great about myself. I’ll be honest and just say this is no small feat! My hair color & cut have gotten very enthusiastic compliments from my husband and friends too, which is always nice and much-​appreciated.
Moreover, Mara is a wonderful, highly intelligent and thoughtful person. She is a true creative in the very best sense of the word. She is grounded and very positive — I always feel better after my appointments with Mara.
The Green Room is also child-​friendly; Mara is a mother and knows how important it is for one to have the option to bring a child if need be. There is a semi-​private space for little ones to play and watch a video while their parent gets pampered by Mara.
I also love the salon’s unique environmental concept and the products are out of this world. The do the job and smell soooo good! We are quite lucky to have this oasis in our neck of the woods. Mara did a fantastic job on my seven-​year-​old daughter, setting her at ease and working her hair magic with her as well.
I LOVE going to The Green Room and feel like it’s a mini-​vacation for my body and soul!

Mara did great job and although I have fairly simple hair she took the time to go the extra mile and do it right.
Also my GF’s hair looks the better than it has in years. I like that she uses all earth friendly products too.
