5: Ambiance. 4: Food. 5: tequila & beer. Service: 3.5… Get the guacamole to start. The homemade salsa and chips are delicious. Fajitas are great. They have the best tequila in Fernandina Beach. They carry everything from Blue Azul to Fortaleza. They’ve got huge TVs at the bar and patio for games. We watched the Copa America there last night. Sit outside. Awesome for people watching on Downtown Center Street.

Used to be great; we looked forward to our yearly trip and eating here. On the upside, the margaritas, chips & salsa were very good, but the food has gone downhill since last year. Menu has changed to limited items, which in most cases is good. Not so here. Wife had the shrimp Mariachi. Wayyyyy too spicy and expensive at $ 19. Ordered the enchiladas verdes without chicken, but with beans, and was still charged $ 11 for the entrée. Ripoff. Kids sized chicken nachos were overpriced at $ 7. Skip it unless you’re stopping in for a margarita or a drink.

Really good. Great food, great drinks, great service, great atmosphere. Best Mexican food we’ve had in a long time.

$ 5 for 3 small scoops of guacamole! 2 small pieces of quesadilla for $ 10 lunch special. Not too impressed with this joint.

The atmosphere is nice, but the food is not worth the price you pay. The service was pretty average as well. Someone at my table paid $ 10 for a chicken quesadilla no longer than the length of my hand. Each of the two segments of it was about the size of one of the chips. Oh, and she said it didn’t taste good.

This is a good place to eat when looking for simple Mexican American food. I gave the restaurant a 3 star because I’ve never had a bad meal. On the other hand, they have improvements to make. The tv’s are generally controlled by the staff which encompasses a central interest on soccer. The evening bartender, who I will not name is a disaster. Incorrect orders, lack of attention, converses with personal friends at bar. The recent change to a minimal menu also needs attention. With competitive restaurants opening around this place, management needs to focus. They have the food and the ambiance; it’s the managerial direction that needs attention.

God-awful service, mediocre food… a bad combination! Waiter couldn’t bring us more chips because he was on «restriction»!? They were giving out too many chips?! Had to ask where our drinks were. He disappeared, came back, asked«you don’t have your drinks?». Three people brought our entre’s, had no idea what they were or who got what… crazy. Tacos only had ground beef, lettuce, cheese. No tomato, no salsa. Tamale, too thick, enough meat to barely fill a small spoon dry tasteless pork. Note to management… extremely poor design of men’s room. Door opens wide to a full view of user standing at urinal, pissing! Wow. What are you thinking?

Very average Mexico grill. They seem to try hard but better choices close by. Had the carnitas, not in my top 10. Pork was dry. Purchased the fresh guac, was fresh, liked it with the chips. Husband wasn’t happy with his meal, seafood chimichanga, said mine was better than his… hmmm. Daughters vegan. They accommodated but steamed veggies, a bit mushy, was expecting more since the said they had vegetarian choices on the menu. Was hoping for roasted veggies. All in all just an average mex place. probably more like 2 ½ stars. There are better options near by.

Your average Mexican joint. Good queso dip and the fajitas were tasty. I didn’t like getting charged for shredded cheese to go with my fajitas

There are some bad things and good things about this restaurant. I am going to start with the bad. When we arrived for lunch, we were greeted by a very unfriendly hostess. She acted like she was better then everyone; never looked at you or smiled. After being seated, we waited 15 minuets before getting any salsa or someone taking our drink orders. I had to ask a waiter to get some drinks. This waiter was very rude but got them for us. I waited another 10 minuets then asked if someone could take our order, he huffed and said go ahead. When our actual waiter came, never said sorry or anything just brought us our food. Now this could of been an off day or a single event but it’s awkward non the less. Now the good. The food is very good. I had the fajitas and my wife had the quesadilla. Excellent food. The guac is good but not worth $ 5 by any means.

Atmosphere is definitely inviting. I’m not the biggest fan of Mexican but my food was good. A lively place for get togethers. Waiter was not very attentive.

Cool atmosphere and really good margaritas. Try to sit out on the patio on a warm afternoon. Great location. Worth a stop.

Not a chain but could be. The food was okay, nothing to complain about but nothing to remember. The tortilla chips may have been the highlight, fresh and not greasy. I had the fajitas and maybe I’m too American but was disappointed it was not served on a sizzling plate. Instead, it was lukewarm beef and onions. I enjoyed it(hence the four stars) but not sure it was better than Chili’s. I did find the service excellent and overall enjoyed the meal, as did my family.

Went there with couple of coworkers. Really flavorful fajitas. Bertha served us and ever item on the table was perfect. If in town, must try it out.

Food: 4 Service: 3.5 Ambience: 4 Date/Time: 12/14/20158:30pm From the outside, this restaurant has a very festive and clean look to it. Walking inside, you find the same with clean booths and tables, and the walls decorated nicely. The waiter was decent and average friendly and took our orders as expected, and checked on us. The restaurant was pretty empty with just a couple of folks on the outdoor patio. The salsa served with the chips was very tasty. The standard lime frozen margarita and the peach margarita were also very good. We ordered the spinach and mushroom quesadilla and the chicken quesadilla. Both had great presentation and were very good. One thing to note is the outdoor patio has a great view the main street(Centre St) going through the nicely done downtown area. It’s a great place to walk around both during the day and night, especially at night with all the decorative Christmas lights on the trees. I would definitely recommend it!

Food was ok. Wife had the Spinach Quesadia and I had the Nachos Pepper. She rated her dish a 4 out of 5. Said it was dry had to order Sour Cream and Guacamole but good. They charge $ 2 for a small cup of guac. The waiter was was not happy with the price but did not take it off. My Nachos were ok but dry also. It was chicken, ground beef, beans and a spit of Sour cream. I give mine a 3.5 out of 5. Both dishes would have been better if they were served wet. I posted pics of the cup of guac and my Nachos Pepper.

Beautiful Mexican Cantina in Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach along the scenic old town Main Street. A waterfall welcomes you inside a huge beautiful building very well decorated. There is a very nice outdoor patio you can enjoy that provides ceiling fans and lanterns lit nightly. We really enjoy the fish tacos while dining on the patio during late evenings. The atmosphere is very light & friendly as most diners are enjoying the pitcher margarita specials. Often dinners become friends while enjoying their meals & friendly banter between tables. You can also enjoy watching the trolleys as they tour and the horse drawn carriages as they meander along Main Street. The menu has a large selection to choose from. The staff are friendly and consistent, often remembering frequent diners & their favorite meals. The patio is a fun, laid back place to enjoy a beer, Margarita — chips w house made salsa & fantastic guacamole! … And those yummy fish tacos! Or dine inside at the bar. For a more Elegant dinner chose their dining room. Enjoy !!

The place looks awesome, clean and comfortable atmosphere. They play Spanish music and have traditional Mexican tiles and décor. The salsa is OK nothing to write home about; but not bad. I tried the special of the day, carne asada with chicken enchilada w/verde sauce. I was very happy with this, looked as good as it tasted, my daughter was not as happy with her 2 item combo, cheese enchilada and a beef one as well the beans were dry and flavorless. I guess stick with the special, it is a cool escape from the hot day and the ice tea was good, and service was excellent!
