We took a spontaneous trip to Ferndale after enjoying the Trinity Alps. We called Ye Old Danish Inn and the hosts were exceptional accommodating us(even tho they usually have 2 – 3 day bookings). The inn owners reworked another reservation so that we could stay! The venue has two cottages that are cozy and filled with nostalgic items and interesting reads(I read about Lost Ocean Liners and the 1906 Earthquake)! The inn is on 10 acres and has apple orchards which could provide some picking when we return. The best part is that the location is up a small hill behind the town so there is a vast view of the quaint town filled with historic homes — Victorian, gothic etc. and a few good restaurants(Curly’s is recommended), old bar, and fun old hotel. The price is a bit high for off season 145 however, there is a microwave and coffee pot and plenty of room to feel that you are in a small cottage rather than a hotel room. Owners are very friendly and helpful!

A peaceful place to unwind. Super clean suite and very pleasant host made for a memorable stay. Come stay here if you value serenity and privacy, you will not be disappointed.

This is a great option to the usual hotels. There are two private suites that are separate from the main house. All are on ten private and beautiful acres overlooking the Victorian village of Ferndale as well as the beautiful Eel River valley. Each has a great view, private balconies, a dining table and chairs, a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee etc. We stayed in the Aalvorg suite and loved it. It had a queen size bed in its own bedroom. It has a private bathroom, a separate sitting room with couch, TV, and a cozy fireplace for a cold wintry night! It’s great to have so much space to spread out and relax. Plus we saved a bunch on food because we took advantage of the microwave and fridge for some of our meals.
