For starters, this isn’t gourmet anything. It is med food that’s pretty well done and tasty. It’s fast, the food is pretty good and the owner does a darned good job of delivering a unique product at a fair price. Is it fine food? Nope. Is it quality food? Not bad. Is it consistent? Not always. Is it clean? Yup! Is it good food? Almost always! Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

Super friendly, spotless, and delicious food. Portions are huge! THIS is my new go-to Gyro shop. The attached market next door is great too!

Seems like a family ran restaurant. The setup is traditional with a variety of table options. They also have a separate enclosed room for buffets and other use. Never had their buffet but read it’s a nice traditional spread. They give nice portions and the taste is authentic and simple. The price is cheap for high quality halal meat. The service is great — being that most ethnic restaurant have always respected privacy so, they don’t continuously tend and question guests in public settings. But they react quick and efficient when asked for help. The connected grocery store has a nice selection in a small space for quick ethnic pick ups also. I’ve been back a few times definitely great especially for a Fishers, IN restaurant.

The Sunday buffet is brimming with delicious, authentic delights. There are always olives and pickles on offer to start, along with hummus and fatoush, yoghurt/cucumber sauce, and tasty pita to mop it all up with. Then come the mains: lamb in yoghurt sauce(try this with rice for instant euphoria), spicy sausages in tomato sauce, broiled fish, and spicy potatoes with chicken. Top it all off with honey almond cake and call it a satisfying afternoon! On your way out browse the grocery for great deals on spices, lovely items like rose water, olives, teas, and snacks. I feel like I’m back in Jordan with every visit.

We’re regulars at Al Basha. The gyros and chicken shawarma are delicious. The pita sandwich is stuffed with plenty of meat for a very filling meal, and the platter is great too. I was less impressed by the lunch buffet, which had fewer options than I would have liked and didn’t happen to include favorites like shawarma or kebab. The baklava is served warm and it’s very good.

The best shawarma, tabouli and falafel in town. Don’t waste ur time on other sad depressing«Mediterraneaanesque» places. Great ambience, great service and great food. Plus try their lunch buffets and fall in love with their well seasoned cooked to yumminess perfection cuisine.

Have had take out from here on several occasions now and have never been disappointed. I always get the chicken shawarma and it’s always perfect. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and the pickle, tomato, and garlic sauce perfectly complete this pita entrée.

Had a gyro for lunch. It was very good. Nothing special about it, but a gyro is a gyro. Sauce was good and all ingredients were fresh. Place was clean and staff was friendly and courteous. Will definitely come again when in the mood for Greek food and or gyro. On a side note, they were offering a buffet and they also had a very wide selection of typical Mediterranean items on their menu.

I met a girlfriend for lunch. Our criteria: not a chain. Tucked away in a strip mall(keep your eyes pealed), this was a really pleasant surprise. We walked in through the grocery and found ourselves wandering around there after lunch. The restaurant was bigger than I thought and had a good number of guests for a mid-week lunch(always a good sign). The food had flavor and the waiter genuinely took pleasure when we told him we were enjoying our choices. I’m not in Fishers often, but I think this will stay on my short list of places to stop when I am.

Excellent falafel, hummus(we ask that they not add olive oil on top, but ymmv), even the salad is great. The lentil soup is a secret weapon — who gets excited about soup? I do now! Not my favorite tabouli. Pita is wonderful and made fresh on site. Attached grocery store so you take home a package of olives or authentic sheep’s feta, yum. Oh, and hubby loves the Spicy Gyro, it’s so spicy he has to stop eating and take half home.

Went to the buffet, on a Sunday. Didn’t order from the menu. There was one highly overworked waitress. I felt sorry for her, as the place was really crowded. The food was good. No problems here at all. The buffet has meat and fish and vegetarian selections, and it’s good quality. The selections aren’t amazingly varied, one of each meat type, plus gyro-fixings. Not over the top, but very good. Coffee was good. Adjoining is a well-stocked Middle Eastern grocer. Wide selection of specialty items, fresh looking where that counts, lots of nuts and seeds, olives, and items you might find in Anatolia, or father East. Not thing to apologize about, although it was a bit pricey. Somehow, the manager just left when it got busy. Might have been an emergency, might have been sloth. Still, not going to make a special trip to go here again. Two annoyances: music was too loud, and the electronic doorbell rang almost continuously. Between the two, cacophony. Perhaps the rough edges might be cured somehow. I’m unlikely to return and find out.

First time here and it will not be my last. Tried a bit of everything, I made the mistake of ordering gyro dinner, it was yummy but enough for two :-) The soup was great, we’re on the fence with the hummus, I enjoyed it but my husband wasn’t a fan. I think my next visit will be the lunch buffet so I can try a little bit of everything.

Al Basha offers authentic Mediterranean Food. I got the Mazza Plate because everything looked so good I just couldn’t make up my mind. The hummus is creamy and delicious, grape leaves were yummy, falafel was good,(although not as good as my ex-mother-in-law’s; hers is hands down the best I’ve ever eaten!), as we’ll as fresh pita bread baked daily in-house. And there is a small market adjoining the restaurant with all the Middle Eastern staples including Hookah Pipes and supplies. The prices are competitive; this place has tahini paste cheaper than anywhere I’ve been to. The staff is friendly and helpful. Over all, a great place for a low key lunch or dinner.

I have been to Al-Basha twice now, and it has not dissapointed either time. I have tried to come up with something negative to say about the place in this review, but I cannot, so it is a 5 star location. To my knowledge this is one of the only Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurants in the area, so I have not been to many others. Even though I haven’t, I think I can confidently say that this a fairly good example of one. Most everything I’ve had here is delicious. The first time I came to Al-Basha I ordered off the menu as opposed to getting the buffet. My sandwich(I believe it was souvlaki) was tasty. Today, I returned to the restaurant and ate off the buffet, which was an even better choice. I regretfully do not know the names of anything I ate today, but they were all excellent. There was lamb, chicken and potatoes, rice, beef, fish, and perhaps goat, all with unique sauces and/or seasonings. The fish and the potatoes were two of my favorites, although I would consider all of the buffet options very good. There is a wide range of flavors in those items. There are also deserts(one of which we believe was a coconut cake) and a salad bar, and of course pita bread. The waitresses here are kind and helpful, the restaurant is well decorated and clean, and the attached grocery next door has a lot of interesting items and is definitely worth a stop. Overall this is somewhere that I will hopefully be able to return several times a year. Update: This is one of our regular stops now. I could not survive without having Al-Basha’s lunch buffet like… at least once a month.

Chicken shawarma was not good and had bones, at least I hope it was a bone. The tabouli was made hours ago, and the rice cold … Just overall poor quality. The bread was warm, and hummus was ok. Other than that, keep driving.

I had the chicken shawarma and was not impressed. It wasn’t terrible, but definitely overpriced for what it is. You could easily make better shawarma in your own kitchen. Maybe the falafel is better? I would recommend the grocery store, though. There’s a shawarma spice mix that’s great.

Really good chicken Shwarma. Different from classic Shwarma in that the slices are a bit thicker and have a more moist and baked in flavor as opposed to using the sauces(garlic /spicy) for flavor. Service is a bit slow but worth the wait. Seems like this is kinda unknown — never too busy and also has a grocery store attached with some hard to find ingredients. Two dining areas — main one is very cafeteria feeling — nothing special. They also have a side room(farther from the grocery store) with some more traditional seating that would be good for a larger group or something a bit more classy. Ultimately — this review is based on the food and not really the dining experience. I’m still debating how this compares to Boston /NYC Shwarma.
