This place is absolutely terrible, unfortunately it was my only option last night with a girlfriend visiting from Chicago who is only 19. I used to go here before I turned 21 and it’s just as bad now as it was then(2008−2009ish); quite possibly even worse. There was no one else in the café except us and the owner. We each paid $ 16 to hookah! Outrageous prices. Another girlfriend came to meet us just to hang out, after sitting with us for at least 10 minutes, the owner came up to the table and informed her that if she wasn’t smoking she would have to pay a cover charge. She ended up leaving even though the employee offered to cover it for her. He was very kind and helpful with everything, but I won’t be returning and certainly won’t bring any out of towners here. I would rather go buy a hookah for my house than come back here again.

This may be the first one star review I have ever given on Unilocal or any other reviewing platform. This place really the worst place I visited since I been in Indy(4 years), I would never recommend this place to anyone or go back again Why am I so negative about this place? 1. There is no standard pricing or menu, they over charge you($ 35/stupid hookah) 2. There is literally no concept of service here 3. No flavor in hookah 4. Green tea/coffee is the most cheapest and terrible 5. Seating is at its worst, not comfortable

This place is just weird. It’s in a former-Starbucks(complete with Starbucks lettering for the sign and furniture). It looks really thrown together(like someone’s basement but in the trashy way, not the cozy way). It seems to be the hang-out spot for too-cool-for-school teens in the area but I have no clue where they’re getting the cash to pay for this stuff. Egyptian and Lava(both in Broad Ripple) charge for each hookah(with a small upcharge for blends) but this place charges per person. I was blown away by the cost(and the free coffee, water and tea don’t relieve the sting). Not worth it — just drive to Brip if you’re looking for hookah.

If anyone knows of any other hookah places that allow 18 year olds please let me know because Café Du Meemo is absolute trash. First, it was a party of four and we pay $ 45 and get one hookah with one hose with one awful house flavor. And you practically have to beg the workers to change your coal. I normally see them all too busy to tend to the needs of their customers and instead are smoking hookah in the back. The hookah water was so dirty and rusty and my friend ended up getting very sick after spending an evening here. The staff is unbearable, completely ditzy and rude. All of their coffees and teas seem to come from a packet and they charge a ridiculous amount for it all. The place is so unsanitary as well. Giving them one star is too generous. I’ll be keeping up with them to see when they go out of business and see what replaces them. If you want to spend an evening at Café Du Meemo, turn around. It’s an absolute waste of money.

This is worst hookah bar I have ever went to by far. I could care less about the terrible décor and cramped space. You go to a hookah bar to smoke some good quality hookah. This experience was far from it. We got chocolate covered strawberry flavor and by the time it had gone through ½ a Instalight coal it tasted completely burnt. When the staff was asked they kept on saying there was nothing they could do. They could change the head and charge me another head after spending $ 50(way over priced) on a tasteless burnt hookah. They then proceeded to give all sorts of excuses of what could be the issue, none of which was actually the issue. Our servers who were very sweet said yet again there was nothing they could do and mentioned that they could call the owner/manager about this issue. They called. He did not talk to me but apparently said that it did not matter, and that this is all they could do. Terrible service in my opinion. They then said they they would try to move the coal around the bowl to See off it would help, I was patient and let them try fix it. Definitely did not happen. I really wanted this to be a great hookah hang out but the quality is sub par and the way it is run is even more sub par. 0⁄5 stars if it was possible.

I should have looked at the reviews here first before I decide to go there. I had a paper to write and I thought I would smoke some hookah while I am typing it. I called in to know how much is the hookah they said $ 15. When I get there there the waiter is ready to seat me then when she find it’s only me she says that she has to ask the owner, the owner who is too busy being on his laptop while sitting on one of the tables says that he has the whole place booked for the night, he pointed at a small table in the corner that he said it was available. I didn’t care how small or big is the table however it was obvious he was making things up for two reason only one table in the whole nasty place was sat, the waiter was getting ready to seat me if it was bigger party, how are they able to seat me if it’s a bigger party and not if it’s one person unless the owner is just money hungry. I was about to pay because you pay upfront and the waiter asked for $ 25 for the hookah when I asked that I called and they said $ 15 she said that if I am in a party, you can someone who doesn’t know anything about running a business is running the place. Besides the place had a nasty smell like they are serving a bad tobacco like another review said.

Came in expecting a greathookah experience, a couple of nice couches and loveseats were open, however we were told that we were not allowed to sit there. No explanation at all, no one sat in the couch areas the entire time we were there. Why have the seating if it is out of bounds, at least give an explanation.

Almost every seat in the house open a lot if hard back chairs four or five nice couches was not aloud to sit on the couches wouldn’t answer why and no one was sitting in them or in line for them. Not nice about it.

After getting my car detailed nearby, I thought a late afternoon coffee from a non-chain place sounded nice. My boyfriend and I went in and the place was empty except for two employees chatting, one was smoking hookah. One finally went behind the counter and I asked her about the coffees because some of them had names like«Milky Way» or «Almond Joy» and I wanted to know what was in them. They didn’t know what was in them. The employee smoking hookah said he thought the Milky Way one had caramel and vanilla in it, so I decided to go with that one. The female employee taking our order asked if we wanted it for here or to-go, and I was thinking for a second and then she said«because this isn’t a coffee shop, if you stay here there’s a $ 5 cover charge»…uh…what? A $ 5 «cover charge» to sit in an empty café in the late afternoon? Is this place trying to be a nightclub in the daytime or what? It was kind of smoky in there anyway and there was no way I was going to pay an extra $ 5 for just coffee so we said to-go. The employees kept chatting amongst themselves and they both seemed high. I think they had been smoking something else aside from hookah. The coffee itself was fine, no complaints there, but the weird vibe and bad customer service get this place one star. Will not go back.

My husband and I were traveling through Indy and I desperately needed a cup of coffee. I opened Unilocal on my phone and found this place nearby. I noticed the reviews were bad but thought ‘how bad can it be when I just need some coffee?’ Yeah… I tried to order an Americano and the girl working told me she didn’t know how to make one. I figured that probably meant she couldn’t make any espresso drinks and settled for drip coffee. It was horrible. Their beverage bar only had powdered creamer, which is just really sad.

Sometimes you should read the reviews of a place prior to entering an establishment instead of just using the search function. All I really wanted was some tea, but ended up with an interesting take on a mocha that left taste of coffee grounds in my mouth. Café Du Meemo could best be described as a hipster hooka shop that serves some coffee and tea that was with an interesting décor. The décor includes some old patio furniture and and old couch. There was a DJ table as well. While it was a change from the regular coffee chains, I think that I will be going back to my chain coffee. Also, since this place is a hooka bar, you must be 18 or older.

They’re still in business? I went here when they first opened and just wanted to grab some coffees and espressos with some friends when they were DEAD empty. Asked the guy at counter if this was okay, since none of us wanted to smoke. He said sure. All was fine until we went to pay and the owner charged us full hookah price plus our coffee. We argued this and he was yelling at us like we assaulted his mother. They had a small sign barely visible but I told him we cleared this with the poor counter guy(who was forced by the owner to pay the hookah charge for each of us). I told him that this was bad business — especially considering we weren’t taking away tables from other patrons. The entire business was next to empty but my group made it a point to make a scene. Why I’m just now filling out a review? Mostly because I’m amazed this place is still around.

This place was really dirty. I can’t stress that enough. They had a fair selection of flavors for the hookah. I totally agree with the other guy who said that they stare/glare at you if you aren’t a regular. We too had to move tables because we had originally sat at the special«owners» table. It wasn’t obvious. Horrible place. Overpriced. Avoid like the plague.

Expected a high school hangout, but didn’t expect it to be so highly priced. Went with a group of 425 – 27 year olds to try it out. Terrible service and took 15 min to get a new coal. Hookah didnt work well and everything was just cheap. My wife got charged to sit there even though she doesn’t smoke. Owner walks around smoking cigarettes and chatting it up with patrons, but doesn’t do any work. Many tables were sitting there waiting for service. Won’t go back here… Much better options in broad ripple!

Visited on a Saturday night. Very strange vibe, mismatched furniture and a kind of «you’re not welcome if you’re not a regular» feel to the place. Exactly four of the sixty or so seats were occupied and my friend and I sat at a four seat table with nice big chairs. We were asked to move because that table was«reserved» because they get so «busy». I started to walk to a new table and they wouldn’t let us set at a smaller table either, we could only sit at a particular table by the door they said. I suggested that we could move if they got«busy» but that wasn’t an option. After some stares from the regulars we got the impression that we weren’t welcome. Highly not recommended. Would give zero stars if that were an option.

What a strange place this was. I had never been here before, although I’ve seen it often enough. I stop into the Einstein’s often for coffee and a bagel on the way to work. One morning this past week, I already had bagels at work, so I just needed the coffee, and I had plenty of time, too. So I decided to stop in. I asked for a soy latte, never specifying the size. The barista gave me a large, and told me not to worry about the 4 cents that I was digging in my pocket for– and didn’t break the change she gave me to take 4 cents from. Very nice! Nobody was in here when I came in– rather dead. I asked about the place, told her I’d never been there before. She mentioned that it’s usually really slow in the mornings, and that it gets busier at night because people come in for hookah. The furniture was mismatched, some café chairs, some patio furniture, some seats that probably don’t belong at café tables at all(height). There was a little piano(baby grande?), and there were papers scattered near a laptop in one corner– reeeeally messy. Different place, this one.

A few friends and I went in there for Hookah — and although there were many flavors to choose from, as my second time in there, I wasn’t impressed with the service BOTH times. The first time I went the owner was there, although he was courteous, he was extremely slow. SECOND time I went there it was packed, and they had 2 college aged kids working there with NO service at all. I also went there on one separate occasion to try their coffee(since it WAS a Starbucks before) and their mocha sucked. My advice is: go to Egyptian Room if you want good hookah and Einsteins Bagel’s next door if you want good coffee.
