Who enjoys going to the hospital?(Zero hands raised) I had a referral to a specialist /Sports Medicine Doctor to evaluate the pain in my shoulder that has lasted almost a year since my July 2015 car accident. I chose Saxony for the convenience to my office in Fishers. Despite the construction on I-69, it was a quick drive and right off the interstate. I wasn’t sure where to park or what entrance to enter, but the receptionist provided options for me to get to my appointment quickly. Saxony is a fairly new, light and airy modern facility with a welcoming feel that you don’t normally get at a hospital. It’s not too big to walk the distance down the halls or to find a convenient parking space. Once down the hall, there was another Information Desk to direct me upstairs for my appointment. Upon my arrival to the Medical offices, I was greeted and promptly checked in. Within five minutes I was in the exam room, followed by Doctor Mayol, a friendly healthcare specialist, who had already reviewed my X-rays and had an idea on what was causing my pain. He asked questions and felt my shoulder before determining that this was most likely a pinched nerve that could indeed be treated, but first wanted to have an MRI scheduled to make his final decision. It was so nice to get an expert opinion and hear that I wouldn’t have to suffer indefinitely. I left with a smile and was back at my office in less than half an hour. I received a call the same day to schedule my MRI for the following week. Once again, the staff was prompt and went above and beyond to explain what was going to happen and assisted to make me comfortable through the entire process. I was given a long list of music genres and movie titles to listen to while in the machine, or told I could use my own playlist(which I did) and offered a blanket. The technician talked to me through the headphones to make sure I was okay and provided an ‘emergency’ stop button in the event I needed out. The experience was painless and over pretty quick. I left with a Thank you card from the technician and a CD Rom with my MRI pictures, and was told that I would receive a call after they had been reviewed. Surprisingly enough, it was the Dr. himself who reached out to me, explaining what he saw and assuring me that an epidural injection should assist in alleviating the pain. I expected to hear from a radiologist to decipher my results, but the personal attention was much appreciated and more than I expected. He was referring me to another Dr. to administer the shot, which could also take place at Saxony and told me to expect a call to schedule. I received a call at 6pm the same night(Thursday) and am scheduled on Monday morning. I have received such exceptional care, communication and prompt scheduling, within two weeks time, and will likely be pain free after Monday! I wish I would have done this so much sooner, but didn’t realize it was an option. Thank you IU Saxony for setting the bar. I can now honestly say I have a favorite hospital.

My wife has had 2 knee replacements done here and we couldn’t be happier with the care she received at Saxony. Great staff all the way around. We would highly recommend Saxony.

Horrible doctors. Horrible staff. Reconsider and go elsewhere. Enough said. Especially when you go in get put on iv w meds you’re allergic to and black out hurting yourself and they release you with am antibiotic that causes problem why I went.

A new and smaller hospital that primarily offers spinal care, cardiovascular and orthopedic services at this time. Very, very modern as far as décor and layout are concerned. Obviously it is super clean but extra shiny since they have not been open for very long. I have only been here a handful of times to eat lunch with my boyfriend who works here but two things I really like about the hospital are: they occasionally have people playing live music in the main lobby area by the cafeteria(today a man and a woman playing classical jams on flutes) which is very comforting and when you drop off patients at the main entrance, someone comes out to greet you and walk with you to where you need to go. I don’t know if that is typical for all IU Health locations or not, but I think that is a super awesome and really stands out to me as true customer service. Very classy. Parking and navigation within the parking lot and hospital in general is easy and efficient. Everyone I have ever come into contact with is always very friendly and helpful. If I should ever become a patient here, I feel like I would be in good hands. But hopefully someone would bring me outside food for lunch. *wink*
